for those of us who are allergic to soya, you can do this with chick pea flour, lemon juice, replace nutritional yeast with dijon mustard, tapioca starch, heat in the saucepan. add a probiotic at the end for the tangy taste.
@@dachsrottweiler welcome, it's one cup of chickpea flour one cup of water, mix well add seasoning, bring a cup of water to boil in a sause pan, add chickpea mix, stir well to stop it sticking, once it thickens either use straight away, or pour into a glass dish leave to cool put in the fridge, and it becomes solid and you can slice it like cheese.
Before my health journey, my favorites were basic nachos (chips, cheese, sour cream, hot sauce,) and chili cheese fries. These seem like they should be easy meals to convert, but the lack of creaminess has led to, either, goopy or dry, bland disappointment. If you could do a loaded fries or nacho video, with good cheese alternatives and no fake grocery store "meat," I would be forever grateful! Ty, and ty for all you do, as you are an inspiration and a ray of sunshine!
Could you do a video on how you use the cheese for different meals? Like for pizza or pasta etc. How you use it to create different dishes. That would be very helpful 🙏🏼🤍
I made this, I have all the ingredients and you can use an ordinary domestic blender, because it’s fairly liquid to start off. I decided to form x2 blobs and froze them in cling film. I defrosted one slightly and it shredded/ grated beautifully. It’s so satisfying to use the grater! I used the shreds for a pita pizza. It didn’t have time to brown, because the pita would burn, but it was really nice!
I love you and I love, love your demos. Your recipes are very easy and quick to make which I resonate with so much. There are a lot of excellent recipe creators out there, but your recipes truly are easy to make and you really “get” your audience. Love that you are willing to come as you are. Keep being authentically beautiful, funny, creative and inspiring you. ❤❤❤
Hi Ami this is awesome! 😁 I cracked up laughing when a few months ago someone commented on your yt video or ig reel (i can't remember which) accusing you of not giving proper credit where you got your cheese recipe from I was like, she literally founded a vegan cheese company!!! Ami is literally the og vegan cheese maker in the uk !!!! I can't remember if it was a man or woman but I've decided this was an example of fansplaining. 😂. Fan enough to watch your recipe but entitled to think they know better than you what you know how to in the kitchen 😂 It's interesting and lucky for is all that you're so passionate about vegan cheese seeing as how you've never had dairy cheese! Admittedly I'm vegan for health and ethical reasons but was on SAD most of my life, and cheese is flippin delicious. I don't miss it often and can live quite easily without it, but like twice a year I'm like aahh I miss cheese! That's where your recipes come in handy!!! Thank you for sharing 💖
Please can you make a New York style vegan cheesecake with strawberry topping. The recipe should not have coconut cream, since I want to avoid desserts high in saturated fat(>= 5g). Currently the base recipe is cream cheese, sour cream and heavy cream, fortunately a lot of products use coconut oil and coconut cream. I don't mind lactic acid, tofu, cashews. Thanks in advance 😊
We are JUST back in the states from our England & Wales trip!!! I cannot get over how much farther ahead the UK is with vegan options EVERYWHERE!! Time to get lots of fresh veg in now post-vacation
So excited to see this recipe. Also very excited to see that your cookbook was in the ultimate plant based bundle and that is the reason why I bought it. So I would love to see you make some of the recipes from your cookbook in action.
Thank you for creating this video. Anything with the word "cheese" in it (without nuts) I'm there! Although I rarely make a recipe from a book without watching a video demonstration (I'm a visual learner!), I purchased your recent book as well as the bundle because I want to support you and and several of the plant based recipe creaters who spend the time to demonstrate on RU-vid how easy it is to make WFPB oil free, tasty meals!
Could you make playlists to group your recipes? I love the what I eat in a day style but then I can’t find the recipe later. Totally love your recipes and your video style, keep making them and I’ll keep loving them ❤
I have to thank you!!!! I made this yesterday, and it may be the answer to my cheese cravings, without the heart disease risk. The cheese is super delicious, and I made a grilled cheese with it. You nailed it!!! Looking forward to trying it on pizza.
Thank you so much for another great recipe/video!! This may sound crazy but the one dairy thing i miss the most and would LOVE to see veganized is cottage cheese. If you could figure out how to make a decent vegan faux cottage cheese , I would be so grateful. 😊
take it from an Italian gal: the salad with tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and basil (topped with olive oil and balsamic vinegar) is called CAPRESE - now we can all enjoy it (minus the olive oil) in abundance. Thanks for sharing this amazing recipe!
That's exactly what I was going to ask! Imagine all the casserole dishes it could be used in. Would be nice if it was cheddar tasting and not just colored to look like cheddar.
I disliked too much nooch in the early days, till I saw another brand on special....tried it....wow it tasted better....then I tried a very highly rated brand from overseas & got a few bags of it shipped in to me in Australia & its bloody beautiful. Moral of my story: try a few different diff brands, cos not all nooch is made equal. Cheers! @@cyndij8312
@@cyndij8312 I always add some yeast extract and soy sauce, plus a bit of sweetener, to my vegan cheddar for the sharp, slightly sweet, umami flavor that aged cheddar has.
l made this today . l was thinking mine wouldn't turn out well but to my surprise it did turn out. and l enjoyed the taste . . on a rice cake with vegimte. now l am going to try it as a grilled cheese sandwich . thanks a lot.
That looks amazing! I can’t wait to try this recipe. If you are wanting ideas for recipes to make, I would love some recipes for the ninja creami. I bought one after I moved my mom in with me a few weeks ago. She is an ice cream lover, but very overweight with dementia. I’m trying to get her eating healthier (quite the challenge!) by feeding her some of the wfpb recipes I eat. Could you show some more recipes for ice cream made with fruit flavors, or other kind of traditional ice cream flavors? I am struggling to find healthy recipes for the ninja creami. Thanks! Susan❤️
Chef AJ has some beaut just fruit type of recipes for the Ninja Creami and a mate of hers is an expert and has heaps! I think the mates name is Kathy Hester? I think youre a wonderful daughter, doing something so lovely for your Mums health that I got tears in my eyes just reading it. Sending health & happiness vibes to you both. ❤🍎🍓❤
Hello Amy! Have you tried using agar agar to firm the cheese up? Also I have a suggestion of something I'd love to see your take on ....Banana cream pie! 🥧 😋🍌. That used to be one of my favorite dessert before going vegan!
Thank you so much first for this recipe that I can't wait to make! But, also for the link to the plant based bundle. I have wanted your book and there was another book I wanted and both those books together was more than this entire bundle. I can't wait to go through all these recipes and classes... everything! Thank you for contributing and this helps out those of us that are on a tiny budget. So excited and glad I found you as well. Thanks so much
I also bought it for Ami’s book. Do you mind sharing what the other book you like is? I want to make sure I don’t miss something really good. The bundle has so much! Amazing, really. Thank you!
@rachelel-yafi3210 I rally wanted the raw wraps recipe book can't think off the top of my head the authors name but there are so many go through them all. I am as soon as I can.
The other book is HAND SALADS RAW VEGAN WRAPS Lissa Maris Raw Food Romance But with those recipes you do need a food dehydrater I was traveling and couldn't remember the names but looked it up. It's so hard to find oil free wraps for me so I soak up all the wraps recipes I can find. But, there is a huge amount of books with amazing recipes I just haven't had time to go through and fall in love with them all yet
Wowsa! I just bought two days ago silken tofu, and I was thinking of making a mozzarella with it. Thanks for this recipe. It seems really cool. Yes, Caprese Salad, mozzarella and tomato salad! Thanks! 👍😘
Genius! I just made it and it’s pretty wonderful! I was able to find lactic acid on Amazon. And kappa carrageenan is on its way for the next batch. It’s easy and delicious! Thank you Ami! 🧀👩🏻🍳❤
Omgoodness! That looks amazing! It kinda reminds me of Babybell or Laughing Cow spread (soft cheese) when it came out of the refrigerator. Thank you so much for sharing! 😊
Have been waiting for this recipe. Made my day. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. Can you please try making cream cheese? All the store bought are terrible. I love cream cheese and miss it terribly.
Recently I made some vegan mozzarella cheese sauce (with cashews) & actually let it thicken in the Vitamix (it took about 2 minutes & was steaming). I was going to serve it over some cooked cauliflower, but then I just dumped the cauliflower into the Vitamix cuz it was so soft & just blended it in the sauce. It was good! I'll have to try your tofu version. Also, your hair looks so cute, Ami!
Thanks for the video! It's like you read my mind... I was wanting a vegan mozzarella recipe with silken tofu and here it is! I'm going to use it on top of my lasagne.
Thank you for sharing this amazing recipe! No coconut oil is great as most vegan cheese recipes call for it. I can see making different flavor versions like truffle mozzarella, or adding jalapeños and red peppers to make a pepper jack version. So many options! I've used silken tofu and a small amount of vegan yogurt to make larger batches of vegan yogurt but never thought to make mozzarella. Genius idea, thanks again!
🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦I would loooove a recipe for vanilla icecream❤ I do not have a ninja. And I would like it to be without bananas. I do love nicecreams, really.. but sometimes I want an icecream that just taste like vanilla❤ Is it possible to do ami style???? ... without cashews of course😅🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦 .. and thanx for the mozzarella. I commented yesterday, that I wasn't here for recipes, only for your crazy cozy everydaylife. I was wrong😂😂😂
Hi, will try this very soon. A recipe that needs 'to be worked on ' is chocolate mousse; don't like the avocado version and it needs to be non bitter and smooth.
Thank you so much for this brilliant recipe! I ordered the tapioca starch from Amazon since I don’t know if I can find it anywhere else. I’ll have to check Trader Joe’s. With you, Kiki, and Chef AJ, I’m set on learning new recipes!!!! You’re amazing! Cheers from California!❤
Hi Amy, I am obsessed with your videos ! I make chickpea yogurt and I would like to have some recipes to USE that yogurt. It has a certain taste that I am not that fond of to eat it on its own. The recipe I use makes a lot of yogurt and I live alone. So I was wondering if you have some interesting recipes that use yogurt, either sweet or savory alike. I also adore your hair !!! Looking forward to see what you come up with. Oh yeah, I also bought your book and then the bundle !
You are my go to for receipes. You make them easy and love them. !!!!!!!!a thanks for your recipes! a I am from Canada and you are now one of my favourites to watch🙃
This looks awesome! I recently saw a recipe for a vegan hard, grateable parmesan cheese block but it's made of coconut oil which I avoid. If you need another idea, maybe give that a try?
Can’t wait to try this! Have you made Baingan Bharta (spelling?) WFPB oil free? Eggplant dish from India? I had it before I changed my diet and would love to find a good recipe for it. Love your channel!
I do really enjoy cheesy salty savory dishes. How about chips and queso or quesadillas. Yummy dips to bring along to potlucks to share and enjoy yourself.
Ami, your contribution to the Vegan Health Bundle 2024 is amazing!!! All the RU-vidrs I watch are gushing over it and singing your praises. I can't wait to try some of the recipes myself. My biggest problem is which one to pick first. They all look so incredible! I also love watching your RU-vid channel because I follow the starch solution as well, and you make everything look so easy. Because I'm not on instagram, I don't get to see the recipes you post there. Would I find them in your Meal Plans if I purchased them from your website? I'm confused as to what those are. Are they weekly planners, or are they small cookbooks? Anyway, just thought I'd reach out from the U.S. to say hello and let you know that so many people are really LOVING your North Indian Cookbook! Keep up the great work. It's so helpful... (Your kids are beautiful by the way).
Aww wow thank you 🎉 I've been trying to get off cheese for ages, an you have made this possible, I love making cheese toasty's & macaroni cheese with you mozzarella recipe 👍 this is gold dust to me 💐
hey! Thank you SO MUCH for a recipe that's healthy and relatively low-calorie. One quick question: once cooled in the fridge, will it melt and get so stretchy again when warmed up in the oven? I am planning on making this in advance and then use it for vegan gnocchi alla sorrentina! Thx
So looking forward to trying this. I just happened across your video, and you convinced me to order the bundle just for your cookbook. lol. Granted I will explore the others. Ordered some lactic acid for the cheese. The food in your cookbook looks amazing! I love Indian food, but haven't ventured into an Indian restaurant since going vegan 4 years ago. Thanks for the inspiration! Love that it's oil free and works in my diet. Thanks! I subscribed too!
Made it today for quesadillas and it is absolutely delicious and tastes as good or better than cashew based versions. Thanks Ami! I'd love if you could figure out a simple wfpbno spanakopita. A whole Greek feast would be yummy but I specifically miss spanakopita with a delicious tzaziki.
Wow! Love your video. Can't wait to make the recipe. Don't know if your box of silken tofu weighs the same as mine in the US. I get Mori-Nu Silken tofu, 349 g.
