Good review and yes own an Astro. Much more than an Alexa on wheels. Price for the tech packed in Astro is a steal. I am a hobby roboticist and to purchase just the hardware would be over $1000 not including servos, skins, and not to mention the AI, algorithms, and cameras.

I actually fully planned to return it but am going to keep it now that I have been using it for a few days. Unboxing and more on my RU-vid soon. Have you figured out how to get this to work with multi-room music?
Good job... one of the best reviews I've seen. My Astro is due to arrive next week. I joined the Amazon invite list as soon as Astro was announced, about 18 months ago. The price is now $1500.
Thank you Carl! I had a long wait too, I had almost given up on the idea then one day I received my invitation. It's now been about 4 months with Astro and we're still enjoying it. Always learning new things about it. Released a vid last week on a ChatGPT skill that works with Astro and incase you haven't seen it already the written guide has a lot of information that may be helpful to you also. We've had ours a few days. He fits in with the rest of the dogs. Lol. Super cute. Not sure if he was worth it (since we already had indoor cameras and home monitoring) but he's cute and fun and I enjoy spying on the dogs while I'm at work.
Great overview . I have an Astro and I have not been able to figure out 2 send the "fun" or "animal" commands from an alexa routine. Everything else works great. Have you tried this?
Thank you! I've not tried to send animal commands from an Alexa routine, but I have created a few routines for feeding our dogs a treat using Furbo. Here's a quick example: wagnerstechtalk.com/astro/#Alexa_Routines_for_Furbo_360 There are a few other routines on the page, when using a custom action, it has to be the last one in the chain of the routine.
@@WagnersTechTalk Yeah I have seen those they don't really help me. i have tried every combination with custom action i could come up with. he will not respond like the voice command. it may be there but i can't figure it out
I did a quick test and could get Astro to bark (or other similar sounds). In the routine actions, I had to set it to Sounds - play sounds (not under Astro, but the Alexa list of actions), then selected 'Dog bark' and could add it multiple times as well as have it first navigate to some location in the house. However, using "Custom" didn't seem to work for this and not entirely sure why.

Hi, I don't get the qr code part where it wants to pair, it says follow instructions on the app but on the app it shows astro is offline, which it isn't, please help me.
The only thing I can think of is to make sure both Astro and the app. are connected to the same WiFi network. It's honestly been awhile since I last had to pair, but the QR code worked here.
Yes, when my wife was showing her video in this video she was controlling it through the Live View. It's pretty cool how it works, you can setup Viewpoints to go to specific areas in the house automatically then swipe left/right to turn or fwd/back.
