My favorite thing about Alexa is just being able to ask her to play Pandora and what's the weather and hearing the news first thing in the morning really useful thanks Amazon

No problem. The echo dot keeps track of your schedule and appointments by integrating with Google calendar. It's a free app. You can simply ask the echo dot what is on your schedule for any day or you can have it add an event for you by voice command.

Yes there is an Alexa app that goes along with the echo dot that you can use for that. However, the echo dot is designed to function more from your voice commands rather than through the app.

Hey! I want to buy alexa but i do not know if it is worth buying alexa echo dot 2nd generation or 3rd. I also have to buy a smart bulb to allow alexa to turn on or off the lights? I heard that alexa can learn different languages is it true?

Yes, I believe Alexa can speak several different languages. This can be adjusted in the settings. While the 2nd generation should work with the current lineup of smart bulbs, I might consider the 3rd generation for increased compatibility with upcoming generations of smart bulbs.

It depends on the lights but most smart light bulbs have WiFi enabled in them and you can connect to them through the Amazon Alexa app.

You can buy plugs that are wifi enabled that connect with alexa on amazon you can get 4 for 33$

Alexa is the software running the Echo Dot. Think of it like the brain behind the device. Everything is streamed to the cloud so the more people use Alexa the smarter it becomes. And yes, Alexa is included with the new Echo Dot.

No, you don't need to be an Amazon prime member to use echo dot. It does have added functionality when paired with prime but you don't need it to utilize all the main features.

No but if you want to play all the music you have to start music unlimited and pay a small amount monthly, it works out in the UK to about £1 per week.

Yes, in addition to music the echo dot can stream audiobooks, podcasts, and radio.

So I found that one of the skills you can enable on Alexa is called Nutritionix. This skill allows Alexa to provide you calorie counts of all your favorite foods as well as track your daily calorie intake once you link it to a Nutritionix account.
