If you go to video diagnostics, it’ll actually tell you what your device is compatible with as well as your current settings. It’ll tell you what will work with your device. This video led me to learning PCM is going to be the option for most people at a baseline and works perfect for me on the 4K Max

I'm on the 4k stick and there is no " Stereo" option. There's Best Available, PCM, Dolby Digital Plus, or Dolby Digital.

Man, you got to love RU-vid finding and fixing issues, i woke up made some coffee and thought I would watch some news and no sound, watching your video helped out all though i didn't have stereo i tried PCM and it started working again, so back to the news, thanks from 🇨🇦

I just got a non 4K fire stick and I don’t have a stereo option but I have an option that says “always PCM” but it says that Dolby would be turned off. And I was having audio issues but maybe different ones. I was noticing sometimes audio would cut out for about a half second or so, and it was mostly on certain apps. But it did seem to fix the problem, I don’t know if it fully has, though.

Thank you!!! I had a similar issue where I could hear the menu clicks through my Vizio soundbar but couldn’t hear anything once playing a video within an app. I didn’t have the option for surround sound but I did have the option to turn off dobly sound and it worked!!

Amazing. The setting were a bit different for me TV I had to put it on Dolby Digital (discovered that when I tried all the audio options)

I have an Insignia TV. Not sure if that matters but to get sound i had to choose PCM on my screen. See if yours says PCM instead of stereo. That may help.

have a fire cube. I do not have stereo option. Best available was selected which I guess was always the case as I don't touch settings unless I need to. There is no option for stereo. I tried PCM still nothing, then put best available back on still nothing. it's over HDMI to my TV and up until an hour ago all was working perfectly. Any ideas on this please it's driving me mad. I have a 7.1.4 Atmos system and picked "best available" in the settings for the sound which should give me Atmos when available or at least Dolby Digital surround on Amazon music, but all I get is stereo, even on tracks marked Atmos. When checking if everything works by playing "atmos content" at the bottom of the audio menu where everything checks out "yes" I do get Atmos so why is Amazon music always play in Stereo? (unless of course I change it to Dolby Digital by hand)

Hey man I could really use your help with something. I have been using my fire stick and I can’t get sound from my home theatre system.... yes I turned the Dolby off and I have tried every setting on all my remotes .... Thanks very much, this was fantastic! Not sure if there may have been a further updated settings since the video had been posted, but stereo is no longer an option on the final menu. Anyway I ended up choosing PCM (as the option for stereo was unavailable) and it worked just fine!

I have some sound. RU-vid works unless it's a RU-vid movie... Netflix doesn't work unless it's playing from the main menu, same thing with Amazon prime... It all started after an update. Is there a way to remove updates?

Hi! The Dolby Digital is off but it's still not working. It used to work where when I switch from TV to firestick, the volume for the TV stops and I hear the clicks and whatever I watch on firestick. It stopped suddenly and I can't get it back. I unplugged it, moved to a different hdmi, still nothing. I made the soundbar discoverable on firestick and it worked but when I went back to TV, I didn't have sound on TV. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

All of a sudden both of my fire sticks have no sound. The one I'm trying to fix right now is the 4k stick. When I get to surround sound then try to click on stereo, nothing happens, it won't let me click on or off, won't let me click always Dolby digital plus on or off. It just stays on.
