Jeff Bezos describes how while he was at Princeton the smartest guy in the batch was a Sri Lankan. He goes on to say how 'Yoshantha" helped him come to a major self realization.
Met him in person today Dr. Yasantha along with another set of brilliant scientists in Colombo. What a humble and down to earth plus brilliant mind he was. thanks for the advices and looking forward to working with you soon. Thanks a lot
Why so proud of him? - what has he done to Sri Lanka? Be proud of our people here , who kept you fed and looked after during the pandemic -- Nurses, doctors, farmers, lorry drivers, etc. I value people who contribute to the betterment of our society. In my scale of valuable people -- farmers, Lorry drivers( deliver essential items to supermarkets) , doctors , nurses, engineers rank very high in the scale of important people. Cricketeers, athletes, rugby players , etc -- are the least important. No one is going to starve or die because there are no cricket matches.
Sri Lanka is a very good country.Because there are so many kind and totalled people in Sri Lanka. But they havent a road to come the international opportunities..😢😢However Im a Sri Lankan so Im proud of Mr.Yasantha Rajakaruna🌍💗
Jeff besos is both books smart and has high levels of awareness, but most book smart people, no not have this level of awareness . . People think they do but they don't
@@DiviAugusti No what he is referring to is that earlier when Sri Lanka was ruled by kings, there used to be a naming system where your name tells which village you come from, what your occupation is and so on so that's why many Sri lankan have long names.
How strange about people who says "proud to be a Sri Lankan" but have left Sri Lanka in other words migrated to another country and living as citizens of that country which makes me laugh and see as the biggest joke or rather the saying when I see it all the time🤦🏽♂😂😂😂🤷🏽♂ I'm sure, the proud Sri Lankans who are actually "living in this country will agree" to this.
No matter how smart your ppl are they need good conditions to thrive which they get in the US only. In Sri Lanka they would have l led a good life but in US they can thrive. I am from India. Same problem in my country too.
@@dishwashermadman there's nothing wrong with going abroad to study and work jobs as long as you come back to the country to help develop it, if not then you are as useless as a tuk tuk driver to the country.
As a world class theoretical physicist would be be able to be a major contributor from anywhere in the world? I don’t know anything about it but maybe it’s the circumstances of his chosen field that have him living in California. Also wouldn’t any contributions he makes benefit the entire planet equally no matter where he was? Except maybe some closed society.
Yiu think by staying in the country you are doing something better and are more patriotic?🤣.There are people who r migrating to places eith better facilities utilizing them and are being recognized and therefore making their country recognized unlike people who think just by staying in the home country they r doing something great
6/3 Kind sir, I truly thank you for your kind words of a Sri Lankan gentleman. Please help the displaced all over the word. We have a duty of care for each other. To make this a better world . Why do we poor "Sri Lankans in Sri Lanka" look for, even venerate and 'be proud of' so-called "Sri Lankans in other countries". They are NOT Sri Lankans anymore. Please look around, there are brilliant Sri Lankans who have elected to stay on in Sri Lanka.

@@heshanmithuranga4462 the big brains can't shine here.. we have all the brain power, but did any of our professors attempt on developing a vaccine? Im a recent medical graduate, the big brains don't like to work in unison here, and the government has the least encouragement
@@heshanmithuranga4462 so why should you return to an already sinking ship that refuses your help? Instead think as a citizen of the world and give service to a country that values your help and do good for humanity itself.
@@eric8783 I agree. If the government do their duty right without corruption. It's gonna solve a lot of problems.A country will develop in a great pace. Not just the economics, how people think, the education, the discipline. My goal is to do something that's gonna help the whole world not a country. But if we shout at Sri Lankans who went abrode it's not going to help improve. And this Sri Lankan in the video is now living in Sri Lanka with unbelievable amount of patents and research papers.Big brains matter. But they should get a opportunity.
Tamil Tigers with 20k soldiers killed 5k Indian army and 25k Sri Lankan army in 1 months. Also killed Indian priminister. Also had own navy. Took many countries to defeat a small army of Tamils. Tamil Language is knowledge. We knew about the ilimunati and their nazi agenda since the 80s
