Love it! KDP is only dead for those that think it's a get rich quick scheme. It's about research, hard work, and putting out quality work that consumers will find useful.
I haven't put out a book since 2020. Only have four books out three of which I published in 2018. Still got $900 in January this year. Lol But down to only $90 a month now. Haven't spent anything on advertising since 2020 and that was only like $70. 😂 I really should start writing again huh?
Yes! I was thinking the same thing. I am only doing researching KDP to confirm its free and everything else I don't care what they say. I know how to hustle it and get the sales. I can make it happen. KDP isn't like instagram where you post and forget it. you post and then advertise. at least what I've seen
I started off pretty fast for a beginner. I've been doing KDP since March and I'm getting over a $100/mo. Not getting rich, but getting the hang of it. I need to produce more books!! Kudos to you!
Results vary, epecially when it comes to specific genres. When did you publish your book? How many books have you published? What are you doing to market your work? What genre are you publishing? KDP sales yo-yo, so your results will vary. Keep writing and publishing and you'll see your sales improve over time.
I had friends and family buy my books and Amazon shows that I only made 2 sales in the first 3 months. My friends and family even sent me a whatsapp picture of their book. I feel that Amazon is cashing in on some of my sales and not turning over my royalties.🤔
I was wondering about this too. They hold the payments for about 30 days I think, but they should still show up. I have made a few sales, but I do these platforms to keep from having to carry overhead, but I think that's probably still the best way to go for online sellers. I don't know why this person though $150 was flex enough to do a video about it. But oh well.
If I can make money without clocking in somebody job . Count me in as long as it’s more than $100. Especially if it only took time and effort and not money ❤
@@musicatelu Well, after two weeks of crying and feeling utterly defeated - this morning I was reinstated - with a firm warning about my book titles. Now, I'll continue on with little to no expectations.
I understand you. My account was terminated due to coloring books because I repeated Coloring Book in subtitle, ironically some youtube channels encourage you do this for more views and they are some coloring books like this. It mostly depends who reviews you but is better earlier than later for me. Because they were people after some good months they were terminated without warning. I hope the best for you, I had also felt bad due to work I put in but I learned that is better not to put my trust again in Amazon. @@SisterSherryDoingStuff
I’m so sorry to hear that and glad you’ve got reinstated. Would you mind sharing a bit as why they gave you a warning on the book titles? Was it political? Or parody? It’s just hard nowadays since people had gotten so easily offended by anything.
@@ld-23 I created a watercolor flower cover for a composition notebook - and called it that. I guess it was already used. I could never get a straight answer from them.
Wait now, does KDP give you just the royalties from the book sales? Or it gives you half their price, without the price for printing? Royalties are nothing! If the book is 5$, you get only 0,15$?
So you only get cents on the dollar? I just created well still trying to create a journal to sell on kdp. Seems like cool passive income but dang if royalties is all you get you would have to sell millions to make anything
For e-book you can get up to 70% royalties on each sale. Depends on the price of the book… if you sell your e-book for under $2.99 then you get 35% of the sale, but if you price it higher than $2.99 you get 70% royalties… I don’t know where you got the “$0.15 per $5” figure from…? Is that for printed books?
Don't wear yourself out on a self-esteem destroying process. That's the way it appears to me. So forget about it. Go to the next opportunity. There's too much out there for you to be beating yourself up over something that keeps blowing up in your face. Let it Go. Let it Go, let it Go, let it Go. Let it Go. Learn from it, but that's specific opportunity. Go fly in the wind. That's just my opinion
If you only sell 1 or 2 books, then no. If your book gets popular and makes a lot of sales, 70 cents will add up. 100 sales with 70 cent royalties are 70 bucks, and if you publish more than one book, you can make a living out of it.
