Windscreen Extension Spoiler Deflector www.ebay.com.au/itm/-/165321507571 I just found another seller who has an identical looking deflector to the one I bought.

I would need one. Good info. I cannot tell you how peaceful it is to watch you ride on a road to nowhere in the early mornings before daylight out on my porch, drinking coffee and smoking my pipe, wishing I was doing it but knowing this is helping me as the next best thing. ALWAYS starts my day off right. Thanks my friend.

Yes they do work.... I have one on my old CBR600... Normally the wind hits me at upper chest level, with the deflector on...( a different one to the video but same idea) the wind barely touches the top of my brain bucket. Really worth having.....

Non-riders might have trouble believing how tiring it is to fight the wind for a couple hours. But you’re right about the exhaustion factor. Here on Saskatchewan’s bald-assed prairie, there’s never no wind. I’m 6’ 2” and might opt for the taller touring screen on my Springfield. But that hinge would never do.

It is surprising Guy. I have thought about a bigger screen for the NC750X but I don't like the looks of the one's I've seen. Plus I worry about how much it will sap power on the highway. I actually like the look of taller screens on bikes like your Springfield, I think they suit the bike. I'd be fitting one if I bought the Vulcan 900 Classic.

Got one for my NC - been on for two years now and no problems. I smoothed things out properly though by mounting the screen on Palmer brackets.

Paul, I had one on my Tracer 900GT. Just make sure when you tighten it, that the rubber inserts don't move. Mine did and I scratched the bike shield. I definitely found it helps reduce noise and buffeting. I did buy the Givi version, costly! Ride safe 🇨🇦

Thanks for the heads up Chris! I'll keep an eye on that.

Does that mounting bracket interfere at all with the view ? I want one for bike, and don’t mind spending the money on a quality product but my concern is that it will get on my nerves being in my direct line on sight and that it will shimmy and shake at high speeds. Could you please shed some light on my concerns if possible….

I have seen others putting small wind deflectors like that on the SIDES of the stock shield to additional protection and it apparently works very well.

Interesting! I'll look into that.

You know, I have one of these and was thinking about that possibility as I watched this vid. I kind of wish there was one with a spring clamp that could be easily removed while on a ride/tailored to riding conditions. With a set you could go back and forth between full sport and full foul weather mode.

A nice ride, Paul. Getting semi-lost is the best type of adventure. No matter what bike I ride, I put some sort of wind protection on it. I'm too old to fight the wind.

Bought one for my GS but didn’t like the weight/ loading on the screen and brackets. Your screen design is more solid 👍🏼

What a coincidence, I (195cm, 6ft4) have the same bike, NC750X RC90 and a similar deflector. After buying the bike in default configuration I was very surprised how loud it is riding faster than 70 km/h, making even short drives on the autobahn unbearable noisy due to turbulences at the helmet. Different helmets, cheap or expensive, couldn't handle these turbulences. Never had such problems riding a GSX 600 F '94 for nearly a decade. Since I don't like earplugs I searched for other options and first found a small company called Palmer Products in the UK which offers an adapter to make the original (or their custom made) windshield adjustable in height and tilt. This helped a bit but only after further attaching an overpriced deflector from a local dealer made it tolerable, still not great, but tolerable. The bike now looks ridiculous like a Transformer, but I don't care about appearances. We tall riders just have to live with making compromises sadly. Currently thinking about the NT1100, reviewers are praising its windshield but the price (double!), fuel consumption (can't beat NC750X incredibly economic 3,8L/100km) and missing frunk are the downsides. Glad to have found your channel, really like your videos and the ergonomics of different sizes! There is a website which has a similar system but hasn't been updated with newer bikes for a while, so I am grateful for your work. Sorry for the long text, greetings to beautiful Straya!

I just got on for my super tenere eBay bracket cheap metal haven't tested yet was getting lot of helmet. Buffeting my brother has gs1200 and has one seemed a lot quieter hopefully it has improved the noise and buffeting 😅

Good video. I find the standard screen to be very noisey so I added an extension like yours and the noise was the same but I got some turbulance as well. I now run without a screen and find it to be much quieter but of course a lot more wind preasure on my chest. The wind preasure is tiring but so is the noise I find. I'm 180cm's and also have an NC750X.
@robbiegriffiths7197

I'm glad I'm not the only one to think that noise is worse than wind pressure. I'm 172cm and also ride the 2023 NX and I find the air flow from the standard windscreen creates a lot of noise around my helmet. Couldn't make up my mind whether to go higher or just remove the screen like you.

I bought a larger (taller) windscreen from Puig for my tiger 1200. Prefer that over the hinge in my eyeline.

I have one of thee and it does help, though air pressure is replaced with turbulence (get good ear plugs). On your screen there may be no problem, but I cracked a Zero Gravity ST screen using this extension as high as you have it in this video. I got another ZG, made sure the extension is centered and lower than full than the top position now. There have been no more cracks. If I really need it at the top, I move it back down as soon as I can.

About 99% I don't need one on my Tiger 900. In fact I leave the deflector down and move screen down to the lowest position unless it is raining or bird dog 🐕 cold.

I'd see if Honda had touring version with a taller screen. I couldn't ride with something like that - too much of a distraction in my eye line.

There are after market screens from companies like Puige and GVI. Even Honda has a bigger aftermarket one.

I have one of these on a tall Zero Grav screen and it's not a distraction. Rain and bugs smacking me in the visor is.

My royal Enfield 'touring' screen is unusable. It funnels the wind right into my eyes and the noise is unbelievable. Would you recommend using this extension. I had a similar foil on my Honda and it worked a lot but at £130 I don't think I could get that past the wife 😀
@BikesILike
@BikesILike 2 года назад
The only way you're going to really know is to try it. But it should redirect the air a few inches higher.
@fishyjoes8159

The bracket looks distracting in the video, which would be my concern, but since you didn't mention it much it mustn't be so in real life
@BikesILike
@BikesILike 2 года назад
That was my concern originally but in reality I don't really notice it. I think it's because I'm still clearly seeing over the top of the deflector. If I was shorter and it was more in my field of view it might annoy me more.

Do you have or know of any solution to make water not stick to a windscreen? Had to turn back today when a sudden downpour made my visibility go down to just seeing my windscreen. It was lethal. Has to ride home standing on the pegs so I could peer over my givi screen.
@BikesILike
@BikesILike Год назад
Sounds like that wasn't a lot of fun Lab. I had to think back to what we used to use on our car windscreens years ago. Look for a product that causes water to bead. Rain-X comes to mind, they make a range of products and Clearview shields has an article on using Rain-X on motorcycle windshields that might prove useful. Just make sure the one you use is good for acrylic windscreens. www.clearviewshields.com/let-it-rain/
@BikesILike
@BikesILike Год назад
Just read through to the end of that Clearview article Lab. Better check with Givi first or see if they have their own option in case their plastic is not compatible with Rain-X.
@BikesILike
@BikesILike Год назад
Scratch Rain-X Lab. Apparently Givi says not to use it as it will cloud the screen. www.burgmanusa.com/threads/givi-windshield-wax-rain-magic.46689/ Ok got it! Looks like RainZip is the way to go. Safe to use on plastic shields apparently. www.nationalcycle.com/windshield-care-hd.html
