Ambessas' other kid is dead, and she's not gonna be making any new ones, so unless there is some cousins hanging around in Noxus, Mel is the only one that can continue the family line. What good is a legacy if you have no one to pass it onto?
Personally I feel people are overreacting to the whole dash on every ability meaning 5-7 dashes overall but she has all damage, no real CC and want to go all in on attack. Plus she looks so much fun to play, so can’t wait to try
True she has no real way of getting to the backline other than her ult also which is a very thin skill shot her early damage is pretty mediocre, her mobility is tied to her damage so she can't just spam her spell fast to backline without all her cd being up if she misses ult she doesn't do alot of damage if she goes bruiser, and lethality make her easy to jump since she isn't good 2v1 if anyone can hit there CC, also she need to auto attack unlike what riot put out of her 2v1ing a Jax and xin Jax will be a pretty good counter since when she goes in he can e bait her auto then just wail on her since she won't have the energy to fight

Having played both as and against her, people focus on the wrong things. Her dashes aren't the problem at all. Her Q damage is the biggest issue imo. Level one she can kill a bruiser in 2 rotations of her Q without even getting close plus she can dash back if they try to punish. She can bully you out of lane instantly if she abuses it off cooldown. The max health damage on an energy champion's low cooldown ability is just too much.
@@mockingbird4346 very true yet feels like a double edged sword. It’s unnecessary %health damage yet it might come in handy at times. Though I have yet to play her so I’m just yapping a little.
Swain's coup occurs the same year as Act II of Arcane. Assuming Riot doesn't retcon more stuff, this means Ambessa was a loyal Noxian under Darkwill, so it makes a lot of sense for her to dislike Swain, and to have the original Noxian color- green.

As I told my friend last night: I don’t mind dashing, I don’t mind mobile champions, as long as it serves a *purpose*; like Kled, for example! His mobility is all about going in and being aggressive, and that’s great! But like Fizz, where his mobility makes him *immune to all abilities and attacks for a decent amount of time that ALSO does damage?!* yeah that’s a little much (it’s a bit of an issue with Ekko as well a la his ult, but I think it’s about the timing with it, so it’s a bit more forgivable for me). I think with her it makes sense, hers is similar to Kled, that it’s about getting into the back line and going into the fight from behind works super well, and I honestly feel like she’s gonna be really fun (also I love that her types are pretty boys and muscle mommies, that’s so funny and I kinda feel her 😂😅)

Ambessa is in Noxus and Mel in Piltover, Mel not only gets the money "the invest" for the war/family but also in the long term is the key to develop modern weapons or even she could "open the gates" to Noxus if they want to invade them unless i read this wrong, the point of Mel is being away from danger and to learn politics/mature and get exp. by the way the son of Ambessa is death because of politics (not entire sure if was Swain, LeBlanc even Draven or Darius) and he was in Noxus . . . that proves the point of Mel being away from Danger

The stigma over her gameplay cannot ruin how fun she looks to play. She's definitely another one of the "fighting game" champions and I'm excited as all hell to get my hands on her
i always thought the green was supposed to be raptor feathers, idk much about the world of league but i can definitely see noxians incorporating animal trophies into their aesthetic
No need to theorize about Ambessa's role in the show from the fact that she is a champion. We do see in a bunch of different teasers and trailers for season 2, that she is bringing in tons of Noxian soldiers, and eventually declares martial law. Whether that is for the whole City, or just for Piltover or just for Zaun, is unclear. And it makes me think that either Riot actually had the balls to kill off Mel, so Ambessa's furious and has to step in herself, or that most of the council is gone, so she does this to bring order back more quickly. Or both.

well the point of her gameplay makes her easier to get hated while she is a cool char ican understand but i think this will mostly not be the case, as an example would be someone like ilaoi, people hate her in game but in lore she is a freaking cool charakter, ksante or smolder which got hate on bothside to somedegree are simply not as interessting i think
Ambessa is another "we could rework this old champion gameplay but we can win more money if we made a new champion" this one is Renekton smash with any dash toplaner, other examples if i recall Seraphine with Sona or Smoulder being Kogmaw but better LMAO and before you say something i want to recall in Arcane season 1 in the flashback, the weapon of Ambessa was a "knife/sword knuckle" and NOT the exact weapon OF RENEKTON in both hands xD also the green outfit looks like trash unless is not a green fur but a green lizard skin like she conquerer jurassic park of Noxus but eh i guess Riot artists dont get that green fur doesnt work unless is DRAAAAVEN

Idk i really hate the desing, and i don't know why. It's not because of the "buffed woman" situation for sure (i LOVE Illaoi), but she feels boring, lame and ugly (i guess?) to me
People are complaining that she has a dash on all abilities, but Kalista has a dash on all basic attacks, and it doesn't cost anything. And since she has almost no cc she won't be that strong, in addition to no skill being target, if you think a lvl6 Renek is stronger than her.
This is just another 200 years champ, one of those good for everything, good at any role champ that will be a pain in the ass to deal with and all we can hope for is for every league player to play her as badly as Nicky
