This was a remarkable series. Border tried winning in WI in 1991 but failed. This was first test series of WI in Australia post Richard's era. Richardson the skipper did well. Series was tied at 1-1 and then WACA .... Ambrose and Bishop were almost unplayable by Australia team. WI bowlers couldn't repeat such bowling performance in Australia after this. But Australia came back and defeated WI in WI and became no1 test team. Memorable series both of them. Both teams evenly matched.
@@MegaNarsinha it hurt every Australian, everyone in that team. So they tried harder and won in WI in 1995. Don't remain stuck with 1993 feeling of losing, when there is 1995 feeling of winning. Second feeling happened/occurred because of first feeling. That's Life.
Lara 277 in the 3rd test saved West indies in that series. I remember everyone in despair after Australia (already up 1-0 in the series) scored over 500 runs and West Indies losing two early wickets. Everyone felt like Australia would win the match. But Lara put up 277 (and would probably still be batting if not for getting run out), West Indies scored over 600 runs and ended up drawing the match. Ultimately lead to the dramatic 1-run win in the 4th test, and Ambrose 7 wickets for 1 run spell in the first inning of this test match all but sealing the Frank Worrell trophy
Bouncy pitches of australia and Africa, seaming pitches of England and New Zealand. World clas bowlers like Ambrose , Walsh, Donald , Pollock, Wasim and Waqar , McGrath Spinners like Warne, Saqlain, Murali and Kumble . Golden days of cricket
Gratefil to have been around in the era of Sobers, Richards, Lloyd, Kanhai, Lara, Greenidge, Haynes, Roberts, Holding, Garner, Marshall, Ambrose, Walsh, Bishop, ...too many to name. Will keep watching them thanks to youtube
Those days even a good defence or a good leave gave u more satisfaction as cricket lover than today's 20-20 super sixes. A good on drive, cover drive or square cut against these master bowlers gave you a new talent and fame status!!
That's why I like series played in England. Pitches give something to the bowlers but also batsmen get value for shots. The result is usually great cricket.
