AMD RX6800 Comparison With and Without The Use of LINKUP Ultra Gen 4.0 Riser Cable: Heaven Benchmark

As requested by many of our viewers to compare the performance of Gen 4 GPU with and without the use of LINKUP Ultra 4.0 riser cable, here are the setups and results.
The conclusion: With the use of riser cable is indeed slightly faster by 0.3fps as the CPU temperature is 3 degree Celsius lower while GPU temperatures are the same.
System Setup
Motherboard: Asus Tuf Gaming X570-Plus (BIOS= V.2812 11/05/2020)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
RAM: HyperX 3733MHz 8GBx2
SSD: Sabrent M.2 Gen 3 SSD 512GB
GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon RX6800 16GB
PSU: Corsair SFX-750
Monitor: LG 65NANO099 8K 65" (Running at 4K@120Hz for Benchmarking)
Riser Cable: LINKUP PCIE4EXT11SV-025 (25cm ITX Single Reversed Socket)
Benchmarking: Heaven Benchmark 4.0
Recording Software: MSI Afterburner

Few question does length affect performance? I have an 011 evo. Does connecting 2 to 3 riser cable hampers performance?

Sorry, you can't cascade Gen 4 riser cables. The insertion loss of connecting two riser cables is huge and the performance will drop to Gen 3 speed.

20cm Right Angle is most recommended as you may need other PCIE devices in the future. The 20cm gives you enough room, yet no loss in performance.

Current Extreme is under revision for over 30cm Gen 4 options. Extreme isn't as flexible as the Ultra, but performance is better in length over 30cm. We will have Extreme4+ coming in Jan-2021.

So for you FormD T1 owners: I measured the riser cable that is included with my FormD T1. It is just under 20 cm from end to end. But it is a gen 3.0 riser cable. So I’ve ordered the Loque 4.0 riser cable and I want one of these also for the blacked out look. What length are you FormD T1 guys using? I saw one review on LinkUps website saying I should get an 18cm but that’s 2 cm shorter than my current one. I haven’t set up my FormD T1 so I don’t know how long to buy yet. Any advice would be appreciated for my FormD T1 (ASUS Z590-I Strix and NVIDIA RTX 3080). Thank you!

The 18cm double reversed cable is measured at 18.5cm in wire length. The end to end is over 20cm which may fit your FormD T1.

Question. Are link up cables S.A.M. compatible? Looking at the benchmarks here there is about a 1% performance drop, but given how SAM affects different applications differently it's hard to draw any conclusions on if its compatible with these risers or not.

Correction: It's 1% performance gain as the CPU temperature is 3 degree Celsius lower with the use of riser cable. We will perform S.A.M. benchmark soon when receive our 5600x CPU. With current design specs of our riser cable, we don't believe there is any significant performance difference with or without the use of riser cable with S.A.M. AMD system.

Holy hell, $25 basic shipping within the continental US?? YIKES. I had just about justified the nearly $70 for a cable to upgrade the one in my Dan A4, but $25 shipping for something this small is robbery. How the heck do you justify that?

Apparently our product engineers are much better than our logistic manager. It's harder to find a cheaper courier to ship this cable from Taiwan to USA by DHL than develop the first workable PCIE Gen 4 riser cables. ⁝(˚͈͈͈͈̥̆₍₎˚͈͈͈͈̥̆⁎)⁝ The cable is build to order and shipped from Taiwan by DHL express as all of our Amazon stocks were sold out two week ago. If you can suggest a courier that charge $8 by air from Taiwan or Asia, we would love to use their service. ヽ(^o^)ノ Alternatively, we can ship by surface service (sea + train). It may take up to 60 days due to current COVID-19 pandemic. Sorry for not being able to find a cheaper freight. (*╯-╰)ノ

@@LINKUPTechnologies Now THIS is how you do community interaction. USA friends please understand that not everything is sitting in a warehouse in the USA. As someone who frequently has to import tech from the states to avoid the insane markups in my own country this kind of shipping fee or higher is normal for anything traveling between the states and somewhere else / vice versa via DHL etc.
