@@maudafisica I like your thinking, but it doesn't work so simply. We got more settings to play with and resolution isn't main impact. My GPU can run triples @ max. But it can't do same in VR. Even though VR resolution is lower than triple screen if you judge just by pixel count only.
Dan actually acc in the rain isn’t a hard scenario for a gpu because of limited shadows, the worst is at sunrise or sunset, then if you add water on track without clouds to it and that sunrise reflecting off that then it’s a FPS killer but also looks dope
Hello Dan! You are still 100% CPU limited in iRacing - that is why you get the same results across the board. This is normal. SMP lifts some of the CPU load (less complex draw calls) so it lifts the performance on the more powerful gpus.
Thank You so much for doing this review on sim racing! I've got a 3080 on its way with new PC. Good thing a 6800XT was not available or I would have puchased that. All the other benchmark reviews are only on single screen FPS games that don't show the same performance gap. Even though I am only a console user at the moment I was laughing so hard at your ( 30fps on console remarks). Much better on PS5 than PS4. Thanks again for your time to create content.

I wonder if these results still hold after AMD have improved their drivers a lot a believe. Would be interesting to rerun these benchmarks or perhaps someone else already did?
Still pretty happy about the 6800 XT's performance. It's good enough that a lot more high end gamers will be willing to accept the performance disadvantage just so they don't have to give money to Nvidia. I've also heard great things about Linux support on those cards.

I’m building a new pc with a triple screen setup (if ryzen and gpu is available) and didn’t know the difference in performance on triples. 6800 xt was on my buy list, but I think now after your video I will choose the 3080 because of the triple screen performance and features like smp
Over 4K Nvidia is the king. Obviously amd target the 1440 market. Triples is equivalent to 1.3x 4K so understandable however the price should have been lower.

I would like a 6900XT in comparison too as on the current market that is often the same price as a 3080 and should in theory be faster... but is it? Sim-titles seem to produce their very own benchmark results so it would be a nice addition to the performance collection

Was about to pick up a used 6900xt but after seeing this I'll not bother and keep my 3070ti for SMP, I'm only really on iRacing so will hold out for the next series of RTX cards
@@jonboy602 Kind of a moot point imho, you should buy what fits the job best. Supporting a company based on these assumptions is bullshit. Yes nVidia does some bad practices but AMD does the same (as any big company), they both want max profits and there is no incentive for fanboying over a particular company. I can understand you want to support a smaller company that can't compete with the big nVidia but it won't help at all, the market share of nVidia is crazy high compared to AMD. Yes, it sucks, not good for us consumers. The only hope we have now is that intel actually comes out with some competing products to stir up the market. AMD already gave up on competing at the higher-end. Let's hope for the best. And btw, I can understand very well that you don't like nVidia as a company, but there is no denying in how well they actually built their empire, I followed them from the very beginning and I have to say, they did a very good job at that, whether you like it or not.
Great video, Dan. One question - you didn't include VR in your comparison. Can I assume that a high-end VR headset would generate benchmarks similar to triple screens?
High end VR (pimax 5k+) is easier to run than 3x qhd. However, VR needs a higher framerate, 90 minimum instead of 60 (to aboid motion sickness). And the load of 3x qhd/60 is roughly comparable to high end VR/90.
Any chance of doing the same testing but on a VR headset like the Quest 2. But great video. 2 months ago I was thinking I wanted a 6800XT. Now I am moving towards the 3080.

I'm running triple 32" 1440p and it would be a big jump in performance.I would like to see Iracing engine changed being very CPU depended compared to more modern games. Your lucky to have the resources to test theses products.
The benchmarks that have been showed so far have a great variability. Different reviewers even get quite different results on the same game and same resolution.
Great Review! I’m shocked you were able to get your hands on a 6800xt, no where to be found in the US. Did the 5950 overclock with just a voltage increase? My 5800x will not go past its max boost clock, I’m used to Intel , so still learning the AMD bios / settings.
Given this drop off in performance due to the lack of SMP, it'll be quite interesting to see where Intel's DG2 cards place relative to AMD' 6700 and 6800 series on launch.

Personally I'm interested to see the difference in between the last gen cards and the new ones. It will help to decide what to get in the coming months. 3080 ti or 6900 XT / 6950 XT are coming down in prices, the big question is - is it worth paying extra for next gen GPU?
Finally, a video that goes to the point with the triples and the resolutions. I searched for this comparison for weeks and finally got my answer for a buying decision. I have another question in relation to the screens @ 1440 , being the thing with the g-sync monitors. What kind of monitor is suggested, no necessarily with the g-sync stamped. I would say that 3080 ti would be the sweet spot between the 3080 and the 3090, right? What about the 6900XT . Do you think it can pair the 3080 at least? Thanks
Not that strange that the 6800XT falls behind when running 3x1440 screens. The Infinity cache was optimized for 4K gaming at best. It does better at 1080p and 1440p compared to 4K. 4K is like 8,3 Mil pixels with a 3x1440p setup you have 11.059 mil pixels to render. Then the extra raw bandwidth of the 3080 and 3090 helps out.

I'm New owner of a 6900xt. Do you run ACC on triple with 6900 ? I have many problems with this card : no bezel compensation, weird gestion of eyefinity and weird artefacts/sluterring in game and in desktop ... Do you have samething ?
The Nvidia cards also have the better encoder (NVENC) if you decide to stream with dedicated cores for that purpose. Most owners are reporting very little loss of performance.

My guess is now Dan. that with the brand new Radeon driver, the 6800XT will actually be faster than the RTX3080... :) though, it may struggle to best the SMP setting results!

Great video Dan. I have a question. I am sometimes getting dropped frames when streaming. Using a 1 PC setup. Ryzen 5 1600x and 1660ti gpu. How can I figure out if it is cpu limited, GPU limited or internet limited.

Pretty predictable outcome for iracing on triples based on NVidia‘s SMP support. I am constantly trying to educate people on it, and it’s been there for a good while now. Good stuff, Dan 👍🏻
@Dan Suzuki iam not sure if your explanation is correct...... why is multiprojection and SMP enabled at the same time? doesnt make a lot of sense as SMP would not need to have multiprojection enabled (i think) also it must be configured in windows correctly. And smp usualy does not improve performance its by default more demanding as 3 individual viewports are rendered compared to 1 viewport where the image gets distorted on the left and right screen (the distortion comes from a lower resolution on the outer screens that get streched) so makes no sense that smp has better performance it definetly looks correct compared to when its off. SMP also must be supported by the game why is very very very rare ( mostly only in simulation games )

Hey Dan, Last night I finished my new build. I went from the 8700k to the 12700k and from a liquid cooled Vega 64 to a Red Devil 6900xt. I cap my frames at 143, and it never dropped from that number, even at COTA. I haven't bothered overclocking yet.
Dan thanks for the excellent videos. Quick question checking the acc benchmark on tripple 1440 between the two videos you made the 5950 runs at 80fps on one and 68 FPS on the other both with the 3090. Is there a reason for that?

So from your experience for tripple 1440 iracing and acc you would not recommend the 5600x with the 6800xt right? In various aaa game benchmarks in 4K the differences between 3080 and 6800xt are not as high. Thanks in advance . I currently have a 49 1440 which i run with a 5700xt and thinking of triples. Actually instead of triples could i add two 27 to my 49?
Hi Dan, what CPU were you using in the tests? (not sure if you mentioned it but I can't listen to the audio) I find it very worrysome that ACC only reaches 86 fps in triple 1080p with the RTX 3080...

@@KToMmi I run a 49 3840x1080p screen (triple screen setup in ACC) with a 3080 and 9700K. I run some epic but mostly high settings and i can hold 144 fps when my car is the only one on the grid. Online i am usually between 120-144 fps depending on cars and weather. However, full Epic settings which Dan uses is super demanding. With that said, there is really no need for full Epic settings. Just run medium/high and enjoy the frames. Triple 75hz is a terrible investement imo.
@@KToMmi I know. I have also tried bumping the resolution scale to 1.5 (same as triple setup). To be able to keep the same frames i have to go medium/high settings. I forgot that in my first reply :). I point is that triple setup is the way to go for immersion and lowering settings to keep atleast 120+ FPS should be a priority. Atleast if you are somewhat competitive.
Just remember, the RTX I/O for the Nvidia cards is still not available...i could imagine the gap will be bigger when it'll come out...the 6800XT without the SAM is quite bad :|
Hi. I was wondering how I could set up triple screen gaming. I have a high end win11 machi e with rx 6800 xt card. I am using triple monitors to work on a daily basis but I dont get it to work for gaming! F1, Forza Horizon 5 etc. I dont have the eyefinity on the adrenaline software. Am I doing something wrong?
RADEON VS RTX is like 120 FPS with bad ray tracing or 100FPS with Good ray tracing, after seeing the performance, I actually prefer RTX3080 or 90, Since Nothing beats that damn beautiful RayTracing
good job ! we certainly need DLSS for ACC , after all we paid good money for such features on the graphics cards ... only for them to let us down using it in titles like fortnight ... the mind boggles !!!

By the way have tried the resizable bar option? does it make any difference on the simracing titles? i got a 3070 and have the option to get 6800xt that I ordered long ago, so I am trying to figure out whether its worth it on a Sammy 1440 49". So far I am happy, but I would always welcome more performance. The 3070 on F1 is fine even on ultra + dlss 135+fps, iracing one monitor option all ultra ex cars runs the start on Sebring at 80 fps with 20 cars then over 110. ACC on epic with 80% scaling runs around 70fps at start and hovers around 100 thereafter. Iracing , acc and f1 are so different that you cannot really work out how the cards relate to each other if you don't have the exact test.
