Fun fact. Israel is not (as defined by law) ally. The United States has treaties with 69 nations that it will come to their aid if attacked . Israel is not one of them. Why. First Israel is unable to define it's borders, a defensive treaty requires the terrority to be defended to be clearly defined. Second, A defense treaty would limit Israel's "freedom of response".. Israel would not have been able to invade Lebanon or bomb targets in Iraq without consulting the United States if it was an actual by treaty ally of the United States.
