Nice work. So many flight videos are 85% taxi then the last few minutes are actually flying. Thanks for the good air footage the sea of clouds was pretty with the blue sky.

Thanks! A lot of the videos I made since this one have taxi footage in them, but I put time stamps for takeoff so people can skip straight to it. My more recent videos though I'm shifting back to only including engine startup and takeoff/departure footage since I'm personally less interested in the taxi portion and analytics suggest most people aren't either.

I like the video and engine sound. Single thing that’s missing is the flight attendant shutting the fck up

wow i was expecting a old generic takeoff video but this video turnout great! you got a good seat the camera and sounds are spot on the 737 flight path and engine sound were on your side and the weather and time of day was pretty including that cloud break

Thanks man! I was still kind of a noob when I shot this video - nowadays I’d like to think I’m better lol

breaking through the clouds look so nice as you get a real sence of the speed you're going

This safety briefing was way too long, and sounded so monotonous. The thing is, concentration levels drop if the instructions are too long, which negates the effect intended to achieve. They need to be short, crisp, and to the point.

Sounds like pre recorded instructions and not an actual person lol

I love flying and just watching this is fun for me. I always love the feeling before takeoff. I love the sound of the engine starting and knowing that I am about to be high in the sky!! Can't wait for my trip this summer.

How can I get over my fear of flying??
@KurtS.87

@@kylewilliams6346 Remember that the chances of dying in a commercial plane crash are extremely low. I think around 1 in 5 million. The pilots are highly trained.

I just realized, in video as the plane is taking off that the engine doesn’t sound as loud in the videos. In real life however they are deafening
@NDSAviation1
@NDSAviation1 Год назад
There’s various reasons for that. People forget that from the time that the sound is made by the engines to the time it makes it to your ear in the video, there’s numerous steps of processing that the sound goes through. At the very least, the sound has to be digitally encoded by the camera, which itself introduces distortion to the volume levels due to built-in audio gain correction and the fact that some frequencies are captured by the microphone better than others; post-processing typically includes volume normalization; RU-vid itself normalizes volume levels too, unless you do that in post-processing, to an LUFS of -14; and of course there’s the specific volume setting of your device. The number of steps the audio has to do through means that very seldomly is what you’re hearing on the video exactly representative of what it sounds like in real life. And this is not even mentioning that different takeoff thrust settings may be louder than others depending on how derated the takeoff is. That’s why videos you sometimes see trying to compare which engine is louder are completely useless and inaccurate - too many variables from takeoff to takeoff to accurately attribute differences in volume to objective differences in engine loudness.

What holder do you use for the phone?
@NDSAviation1
@NDSAviation1 2 года назад
Generally speaking, I hand hold for all recordings. In the past I used a ram mount to make it easier to hold the phone at different angles if the window was situated awkwardly but either way I handheld the mount as well. I don’t mount my phone to the aircraft directly because there’s an unacceptable amount of vibration that transfers to the phone.

I like the safety briefing on Southwest so much more ... this (AA) seems so generic and insincere.
