I feel like swapping with a new yoker would have made more sense and it’s a more similar fashion culture as well as the weather and walking concerns are similar. LA fashion is loud and bold and much harder to do a comparison with.
Kianna B I feel even what part of the state . I live in Salt Lake City , I feel I could easily see who’s from the city/ suburbs area to the ones who come from further south or up north where it’s all small little towns.
I totally agree. I think this would've been a better video if she swapped with Essence who is based in NYC. LA has such a distinct style and its not for everyone. Ada is treating "American" style as if its a city when in actuality, it defers based on the city you're from.
I wouldn't like to see people who already dress similarly swap though - personally, I'd love to see a swap with a Texan or someone from Maine, just an actual place where the styles tend to match up with the climate and ground (boy do shoe choices change when you have perpetually wet Earth and wet potholed asphalt to deal with instead of access to sidewalks everywhere :D).
I agree with you. They are swapping styles but they should have taken the weather into consideration as well. One is wearing autumn/winter fabric in hot weather, while the other is wearing thin fabric in cold weather.
I completely agree with this statement! I just came back from visiting London and they are very fashionable there. I also do feel that London fashion and LA fashion is very similar trends and clothing but some clothes are just styled differently
My take: Ada-Freddie everyday was not well done, individually it was ok, but it looked bad together. Ada-Freddie brunch: the best outfit picked of the whole challenge, it was so cute and would work for any occasion. Ada-Freddie Going Out: liked it. It was really good. Freddie-Ada work: I actually really liked it. I think the pants Ada changed into looked better with the top. Freddie-Ada brunch: it was so bad. Nothing worked and the boots were hideous. Freddie-Ada going out: very much a look that Freddie picked for herself and not for Ada. It was a very specific look, something that depends very much on location and body type. It would’ve looked cute on Freddie, but not for Ada. Overall I think Ada picked outfits that anyone can wear and pull off well regardless if weather/body type while Freddie’s were all very out there, risky but not quite considering weather or body type.
Chelsea Tankus I agree, I feel like they should have styled each outfit based on the other person as an individual not based on what they’d want for themselves.
3:59 he liked the outfit and yet they were bullying him to make him not like it...... what’s the point of asking for someone’s opinion if you don’t want it 🤦🏻♀️

I’m from Scotland and I definitely prefer Freddie’s styling. The girl from the UK was just..basic and honestly quite rude. I think Freddie has great style n she was so positive!
Nevena Savic I completely agree! If you agree to swap styles, you should go into it with an open mind - take some risks and try some new pieces that you wouldn’t normally wear! I couldn’t stand how close minded she was.
As somone from the UK I just wanna say we're not all that rude also who thinks people In the UK dress better than people in the US 😂 honestly it's so cold half the time you're just dressing to not freeze but OK sis
I think that to say not all Americans are the same and then say wow they're rude over their is horrible that makes us american just at stereotypical as ada ( grouping all as one I mean)and that's not fair in other words thank you , never been to the uk but I had a British math teacher who was awesome he was blunt and to the point sometimes but never rude and was one of my favorite teachers ever.
@@GALAXIE262 oh no I got that ...lol.I'm not good with words ,she was saying not all UK citizens are rude and I was confirming it in a roundabout way.while also stating that we (Americans) can also stereotype and we shouldnt be so she shouldnt have to feel like she should defend UK citizens because we (Americans) shouldnt be grouping all in one .
freddie was so open to them lol but also when she says “average american” she has to realize the average californian dresses different than the average new yorker or someone in the midwest. style varies drastically
They aren't going to realize it - from Europeans I've met, they don't quite realize the size of the US. It's about the size of Western Europe, which has a lot of countries in it. I've met some that think they can visit several US cities by car in a week, all in different regions. So psychologically they think of a country as being roughly the same physical size as theirs.
As a person from the US who has also lived in London, that’s just the culture difference tbh. I think the biggest difference between ‘Americans’ and English people is how they display their attitude towards things. Americans tend to be more open and expressive, while English tend to be more reserved and less open to sharing how they feel. It’s just the environment. For someone who grows up in the US, it takes a looooooong time to get used to it...and the dress sense too!!
Also, England and California are polar opposites as far as climate goes and at least half the reason we even bother to put clothes on are the elements outside.
I’m from Scotland and I must say I LOVED the boots. I would absolutely wear them! Btw the girl from London and her friends sure like to use mass generalisations and are very judgemental. Not a fan of the attitude at all. It’s unnecessary and kinda snobby! Trust me, some of us are actually very nice.

But the style swiss people dress is just sad Im sorry there's nothing interesting about it. Even those who say they are into fashion wear yk basic looking outfits.
I’m from Switzerland and there are soooo many different kind of people here. There aren’t many “complete” Swiss people here anymore. But there are people who dress more like Americans and there are people who find it weird!!
All of Ada's outfits were a hot mess because she was exuding "hot mess" vibes. Fred looked good because she wore the clothes, not let the clothes wear her. Also the Brits were trying way too hard to be relevant and shady.
i disagree, plus you don't understand British culture, here most of what was said would not be considered rude. Its like part of our culture to take the p!ss out of each other lol, but its all done in a friendly teasing way
Would love to see a swap with Scandinavians. Feel like we are a mix of androgynous /business-casual and mostly black and neutral colours. Like suit meets momjeans
I couldn’t tell how bad they were because I never saw a full shot of the outfit. I agree that those shoes were bad, but still there is an element of confidence that was not there. Part of that is probably because it is not what they were used to.
I think Americans are def more casual and sporty, while in many big cities in Europe ppl dress up lot more.. but teens overall are all the same everywhere hoodies&jeans/leggings LoL
Not really, when I was still in school, you would never see anyone wearing leggings and hoodies, maybe hoodies worn with jeans but you would never see anyone wearing leggings as pants. Leggings are not pants. Most people would put an effort into their outfits, like just wear a top and jeans. I find that a lot of Americans think that wearing anything besides leggings and athleture means dressing up, when it's just about wearing normal clothing. And I'm from a pretty small city in Sweden.
Vivi I completely disagree as a teen (in Britain) I can tell You everyone is very dressed up all the time, I don’t know we’re you from, or maybe it is just we’re I live... ahah
Agree ! Like if you see someone going around in Paris in yoga pants it is probably an american tourist lol. We don't see yoga pants as something else than a sport outfit
I think that can be true, but in big cities (ie New York or LA) almost everyone is very dressed up. Americans have much more of an athletic influence in our everyday clothes.
When she tried to "fix" the first outfit, she just ended up looking like a character from Hey Arnold... Also her friends claiming the outfit is too boxy while she gave freddie two corduroy sacks to wear. Just the air of I'm better than you was just so not it.
yeah I mean the outfit was not unwearable. Maybe it wasn't her style but it wasn't bad as in "a too tight mini leather skirt" And I also wonder where she got the jeans or if she took it with her
Kelsey Kinder honestly the worst part of the first outfit was how uncomfortable she was in it. She looked great in everything I just wish she would have had a more open mind about it. After all she did look fire in everything
She was so rude during this whole video. Freddie's outlook on having an open mind and wearing every piece how it was. She didnt change anything. Plus in the end someone picked that out for you. They went through the trouble and thought you'd look good in it. It's pretty rude to just dis everything.
freddie wore the work outfit wrong tho, the corduroy 'shirt' is meant to be a jacket worn open over the lil black crop top. Also as a brit, I don't think Ada was rude at all, it was just honesty with some jokey comments thrown in. She wasn't being b****y , but if you're not from here, the way we joke doesn't always translate well.
Ella Greening oh hun , she was incredibly rude. Most jokes have some truth to them. This wasn’t dark humor or dry humor she was just a snob , point blank
Imma say it...Freddie usually looks great, but she did not make the best styling choices for Ada. Freddie chose outfits that would look good on her, without being mindful of Ada's shape. Overall, there were cute pieces all around, but everything was a hot mess. I liked the UK going out outfit that Freddie wore the most. Overall, it's funny that Ada dissed "American" fashion when I saw nothing revolutionary or fashion forward in her outfit choices. They were boring and basic....nothing screamed wow. When I think about fashion....British style icons are more traditional and polished. American style icons are more experimental and love streetwear. Idk why Americans get called out for wearing new balances and cargo pants....I live in NYC and have never seen anyone here (besides tourist) wear that.
Also east coast and never have seen new balance and cargo pants all that much mostly jeans/leggings and converse or vans shoes it changes year to year to
I feel like the comparison would've been better with a New England or NYC person. But regardless, Freddie's picks were trash (they'd look good on her tho im sure) - it seems more like personal style than anything

I hope the thing that Ada takes from this video is a little bit of open-mindedness. It's unfortunate that the thing that really stood out for me on this was how nice Freddie was vs how honestly rude Ada was. Otherwise, I do think this is a great video idea.
Don’t think she was being rude, more just giving an honest opinion, her last two outfits were a bit boke. They were supposed to give their opinion, saying that I think she was just doing her job
P F Not really even before the clothes she kept generalizing Americans but i get that some of the American outfits were hideous but she didn’t even try to be a bit positive, what did she expect?
Honestly the America vs everyone else vibe was not fun. Freddie had nothing but kind things even if she didn't adore the look. She didn't complain about getting outfits that were literally a shirt and a tank top, and also a full suit. But she didn't pick a warm enough dress and ada had a fit. Thank you Freddie for the kind spirit you showed and hopefully a few others can get the point.
I can’t believe someone edited this video and thought it was good.Ada and her coworkers were so incredibly rude. Clothing and style is really subjective and all the shade was really unnecessary.
They didn't like it and they were honest about it. As you said style is subjective should they sugarcoat it or lie about their opinions so that people don't get offended? They were talking about clothes it's not a big deal.
Cornelia Honesty and rudeness are not one in the same. I don’t care that she didn’t like the outfits. I didn’t like them either but the rudeness wasn’t necessary.
@@cornelia4838 It didn't really seem like she was honest at all. She was putting down the outfits for the laughs and not actually caring if they were good or not.
I think if you find someone rude or not depends on your culture. I don't think she and her coworker were extremly rude. They were honest. I'm kind of annoyed of this thing the people from L.A. did. First they said something positive and than something 'negative' but very nice. I noticed that very offen. for me that's extemly weird and seems fake. But I am from Germany and we have a different culture. This is the interesting point of this experiment.
just goes to show how the average american is definitely more open to new things than the average brit lol. super annoyed with the british attitude. being rude really puts you off right at the start. and even though her style was absolutely ridiculous, Ada made no efforts to embrace or style the outfits, while freddy welcomed new styles with open arms and was super polite.
Lmao that's not about being british or american, it's about being a brat x)) I live in the uk and most british people are really sweet polite dudes, it's usually a pretty shy culture (not brit myself) those accents tho
Ada gave Freddie way nicer clothes though, Freddie has bad style in my opinion, and those outfits did look laughably bad on Ada. London fashion is a lot better in my opinion (I'm a Londoner though so defo bias..)
@@Hazeydaze92 honestly out of every buzzfeed lady, freddie has one of the best styles imo, i think their body shapes were so different that freddie's fits didn't work on her at all. but ada didn't do a better job either, but what threw me off was her attitude...
I think Fredie added those boots in because it's in trend. Not my cup of tea but I understand why some ppl think it's fab. Now my major issue was the attitude of UK girl. She was so close minded all the time and throwing shade on everything she wasn't familiar with. Now that's not the right attitude for these kind of contents. And this is why I came for a cute fun laughable video and leaving with all diff kind of upset feeling
When I moved to the US one of my first reactions was how laid back everyone was. Hoodies and sneakers everywhere. In most places in Europe people dress up to go anywhere lol.
I’m from the Midwest where it’s pretty much Lululemon yoga pants and Patagonia’s everywhere (because rich people want to flaunt their money without wearing something stylish) and it is so lame being the only person putting on real clothes😂

To be fair, that's starting to happen in the UK. Most people go out wearing trainers and casual clothing now. Wearing a pair of heels and a dress would only be for a fancy event, not a club.
"I hope Freddy liked her outfits "...(because I didn't like mine). I think all the outfits were a miss. The green "dress" Freddy wore looked like a robe.
That’s a popular glamorous style. I think if it had been longer/better for/more accessories it wouldn’t have looked like that, it’s not supposed to be plain like how Freddie styled it

that's what I said. She is small and athletic. Nothing will be too small for her and she will just look cute and comfy in oversized things. I didn't like any of the outfits Ada picked, but Freddie never looked bad.
I could see Freddie wearing all of those outfits and being really confident and rocking it but ada doesn’t seem like she wears anything that fun and prefers to be neutral and hide in the background But also ada seems to hate Americans so it wouldn’t have mattered what Freddie sent 😂
I'm British, and I would say that Ada doesn't hate Americans, it's just kinda the British (particularly London) bluntness. Like we don't mince our words, and to be honest as people, we're quite negative. So if you're asking us to comment on something, we're more likely to tell you what we don't like before we try and find something we like. And I think when that's put next to the positivity of the LA mindset (seen in Freddie), it comparatively looks even more like Ada hates Americans, but it's honestly just that she's stating her dislike for certain American trends in a very blunt way. In the same way that her friends and coworkers were honestly stating their opinions as opposed to sugar coating certain things like the American coworkers and friends were. Just different cultures.
@@missmississippi16990 Exactly, the coworkers really bring out the cultural differences as the Americans would say "It's okay, but...", "I don't hate it, but..." , and "I think you can rock this outfit, but...", whereas the Brits would just outright say "Not a fan" or just laugh. Honestly I have to admit that I laughed along with that guy at 8:37. I think what should be mentioned as well is that British negativity is not necessarily mean spirited.
Ada and her friends were so mean and judgmental and love to insult and generalize Americans. We have varying weather on all different parts of the country and each part of the country has different typical styles. I hope she realizes how shady and rude she came across. Definitely not someone I'd want to interact with. Someone who's this biased from before the video even began should not be in videos like this. Freddie was so sweet and open-minded. Ada could learn something from Freddie.
as an American, I can say that when you talk about 'fashion' everybody has there own style, and over here, we are a big country so we all have different weather so the clothing is different too.
^ to add to your point the US is big enough and the states are different enough that saying all Americans have one style is like saying the whole European Union has the same style.
parts of the UK also have very different styles and weather, like someone in London is not going to dress the same as someone in Manchester. also places like Cornwall are much warmer than say Scotland so it goes both ways
I mean that in general, most other countries find Americans to be rude and not respectful of others. Shouldn't have to explain a comment that ended with lol
I wouldn't say that's what people say, the stereotype is that Americans are loud and obnoxious. The French are rude by stereotype, which is all these are, stereotypes.
You can't base 50 states worth of fashion based on one person. There's so many different styles and subs sets of styles all around the world, and ,truth be told, just within the few minutes that I have watched is a lot of unnecessary rudeness. don't think the person who decided to make the video thought enough ahead about how many people they would offender but you know whatever. All I have to do is not finished the video so.. Edit: this is the first time I've seen Ada in a video, and this is not the best introduction.
Totally agree, Ada and het friends were super rude and close minded . And Freddie seems to be more into fashion than Ada and her friends, it didn't seem like their thing.
I love Ada’s final outfit for Freddie. It was really cute but Freddie was so open minded and nice about everything and Ada was pretty rude. She could have really accentuated her figure with a belt or accessories or swapped the boot.
The girl from the UK was just so negative and closed minded and her friends where too. I didn’t like the video at all. Freddie was so sweet and nice as always
Ada was so brutal and Freddie was so open-minded. The outfit that Freddie chose for her was great. But Ada’s confidence just shattered everything. You can pull off anything and everything if you have the confidence. If not, even a Versace dress will look slumpy.
Unless im at work, that is my go to outfit in the winter time here in Chicago, just add in some kind of boot. It’s too cold to wear anything else in my opinion.
I feel like they are taught not to be overly confident in their looks in the uk so everything she put on she kinda slumped over and tried to hide herself while Freddie knows how to make anything work and isn’t afraid to step outside of the normal
I think fashion is different for each individual no matter what region they’re from. Obviously different countries have different trends but it depends if the person follows it or not.
I feel like this isnt fair because everyone has different body types and different things that complement them better and you cant really say US vs UK outfits cause everyone dresses different and im from the UK but i wouldnt wear any of the outfits Ada picked maybe cause im younger and more into streetwear but yh
John Smith not really. The last outfit was definitely 80s inspired. That’s Freddie’s style and very specific to her. Watch any buzzfeed American episodes and EVERYONE dresses differently. All of the as/is girls are a good example of how differently everyone dresses. Watching shows like Towie or MiC I don’t assume everyone dresses in designer bland basics.
@@hagaribrahim3887 No it's rude. You could see Freddie giving constructive criticism and was enthusiastic and Ada was just not even trying to make it work. She was so quick to dismiss everything.
Katie Mark Exactly the whole point was to experience new stuff and Ada constantly complained the whole course of the experience. I would’ve been way more open if you know she was open to some stuff but, she was completely rude to everything to the point where she was making fun of Freedy’s ways.
Ada was quite mean and one of the outfits she even changed. She complained about the weather but didn’t take into consideration that she sent winter clothes over to LA
I feel like their judgements were clouded because they were basically competing which style is “better” (especially with Ada’s side...) but, just like what Freddie said, each place have different tastes and what they view as “fashionable” is not necessarily fashionable in other countries. AND ADA GURL SOME OF THESE OUTFITS WERE COOL ASF,DONT LIE NOW! WHAT U ON ABOUT
@@bottombagfrenchfry7127 I get the shape and the crop top but they're talking about the style of the crop top it's self.. as in the corset elements to the one she was holding up.
@@extrashotofespresso_ Even if you don't know someone, something they say and do may still make you uncomfortable. Being uncomfortable has nothing to do with your understanding of a person.
Love that Fred understand that according to the culture, and the place you live requires a certain style. And she was confident in what ever she was given.
Shows that it doesn’t matter what you wear, you can’t please everybody! Dress in what make you feel great! The confidence will make you outfit look 1000000x better
The UK (or at least the South) tend to dress with the weather in mind because it's really cold or raining constantly. Granted I've never been to LA but it always seems to be fairly warm (even in winter) so you have a lot more options.
Here are the changes I would have done to these outfits: Work Outfit (Freddie) - Add a sweater crop top / long sleeve crop top or a turtleneck and leave the corduroy jacket open. Work Outfit (Ada) - I would have changed the shoes to converse or vans. Ada should accentuate her waist by wearing a belt or tucking the sweater in. I think her hair would have looked great half up and half in a bun. Brunch Outfit (Freddie) - change the shoes to a lighter color or neon color shoes. I would have also cuffed jumpsuit pants, so you can see the shoes better. Brunch Outfit (Ada) - Those boots are hard to style and don't look good on everyone. The outfit could have looked good with some booties. The jean jacket didn't look good with the outfit as well. She could have swapped the jacket out for a cute cardigan. Going Out Outfit (Freddie) - Looks good. 👍 Going Out Outfit (Ada) - The top wasn't flattering. She could have gotten like a slip dress to put underneath. I didn't really get to see the complete outfit to make appropriate changes.
@@Natashaa_1 it's ok stereotypes rarely hold truth, all the outfits Freddie received were awful. So were the ones Ada received, I guess. I still think Americans are more creative and start trends like no other.

Not sure I enjoyed this one all too much... I feel like it could have been done better.... 🤷🏽♀️ Also... fashion is subject. And USA and UK fashion is different... doesn’t mean one is bad. Comments were a touch condescending.
Freddie was so positive and actually really nice about her stuff. Ada honestly just seemed like she was being rude for attention, like a plastic from Mean Girls
The style is SO different between different parts of America. New York vs California for example. Different weather, different “vibes” , and over all different culture. I don’t like really any of the looks but that’s just me
I just want to say that not everyone in the Uk holds the same opinions as the girl in this video. If you do end up deciding to visit then I can pretty much guarantee that no ones going to say these sort of things to you (or at least anyone I know!) so please dont let this one girl change your opinion ♥️♥️ (plus I'm from the Uk and I still wear new balance and boots so idk)
I visited there when I was younger (pre-teen) I remember everyone being super nice and helpful in the UK. I truly recommend going. It was an amazing experience and I really want to go again.
In my part of the US, New Balance is expensive (~$75) so we opt for the Walmart brand of shoes. Affordable, sturdy, and stylish. Or we wear Nike and Jordans if you have money to invest.
i'd like to see a version of this that's like, the common outfit styles, rather than the more out-there outfits we had here? you spend enough time in any city doing work, leisure and drinking and you'll start to spot the patterns in fashion that identify that place!
UK (In my life) Work - sweatshirt and leggings with trainers (look for neutral tones) Brunch - crop top and high wasted jean shorts with boots (look for pastel colours) Going out - Lace top and high waisted skirt with heels (look for whatever makes you feel sexy)
