Finally! Jade has a choreographer who understands her. Dance is not a strength for her, but this routine shows what a difference good choreography can make. Well done!
I was thinking the same thing yesterday. Out of everyone that competed, I think Jade really upped her stock and definitely kept herself in the conversation for Paris. She could improve a bit on execution and I want to see the floor upgrades, but she is hitting FULL routines with usable scores for Team USA
Gag! I dont see one ounce of this artistry. But go off. Cant wait till real scoring hits. Sunis beam score? lmao. Hold tight sis. I will come back to this comment as the weeks progress and her real scores show.
@@lalareal180 Hater calms down. No one sit up here and say the score is real (that applies in every domestic competition), but she's going to Paris with more upgrades to piss you off at this rate 😂
@@mariahazcueta3621 She said she has planned upgrades for VT, FX and likely UB. Also, she is likely going to keep her BB composition where it's at and getting it even more consistant
I mean she still did two incredibly difficult series that no one else on team USA can do frankly so it was still a good routine. But yeah she needs the dismount badly
@@lalareal180 I think she still has a bit of time time left to pull everything together. She was really in a bad shape last year so it's thrilling to see her back on her feet again!
Yes! I hope she makes the team this year. People always have complaints about her dance, but I think she actually has the moves. She just needs to perform some of these dance actions with a bit more energy, but what do I know? She might be conserving energy for her big acro moves since that it what truly matters anyway.
@@pinklabbit And she is who the US absolutely NEEDS. Her vaulting would have helped stabilize the team after Simone withdrew in the Team Final in Tokyo if she was part of the team and her floor could have helped pull them through. I think the US should ALWAYS strive to have the points advantage after the first rotation (vault) because it helps to set the tone for the rest of the meet.
@@aliciamcdonald7105 I totally agree that selection should be based on the highest possible team score, but I noticed since Tokyo selection have been largely based on all around placement.
If Jade can keep this level of execution as she adds more difficulty to vault, bars, and floor in particular, she'll be in great contention to make the team this year!!
She's definitely going to add way more difficulty on vault and floor. I think she has potential to score a 14 on bars like she did in Tokyo if she adds a release and Pak.
@@cocoroni1031 Yes I would assume she would want to add back in her Bhardwaj, and she said in her interview that she might upgrade her dismount which I think would be a Fabrichnova!
Out of everyone that competed, I think Jade really upped her stock and definitely put herself in the conversation for Paris. She has been training a Moors and I’m pretty sure she’s training an Amanar or Cheng. I bet at US Classics she tries the upgrades now that she has qualified to US Championships. I’d love to see her upgrade bars and possibly do a series out of her front Ariel on beam.
Gabby Douglas, although with some hiccups, she did amazing!! 8 years off and she still competed such difficult skills, compared to some of her competition. Although some mishaps she did absolutely awesome! Her split positions were/are on point!
@@jodavitow. It could be nerves too. She has gone through so much in the past 8 years and like the others had to mentally heal from the Nassar a-hole and Martha abuse too.
We don't know for sure when Gabby started her training 🤔 I could tell she was very nervous and sensing the negative energy. I could feel it too, and I wasn't there.
Myli Lew is going to have a bright successful future and She has great toe point btw❤ I am so glad that the ladies are allowed to mix college and elite because it really builds consistency and confidence and allows time to perfect skills. It's helped Jade, she also looks alot more confident in her dance which has improved , love the music and the leo ❤
Jade's collegiate career has really helped her on her artistic skills, I noticed both on beam and floor their is more fluidity to her motions. I wasn't a huge fan before, but did admire her power and tumbling skills but now I am absolutely excited to see more of her.
Wow! I hadn't watched Myli's floor before, what fantastic choreo, presentation, and musicality! Really stands out by American standards! And holy moly, I was so surprised by Brynn Torry's vault! She's such a little thing, and then she suddenly produces so much power out of nowhere!
As a dancer from the cradle up, I often skip floor routines or skim for the tumbling passes because almost no one has artistry. I see something in Myli, though. She's not there yet, she needs to discover a lot more nuance and control in her arms and shoulder girdle, but I see something special trying to come out.
Wow, we have come a long way from McCormick place in Chicago! Wish we could have seen more from the previous medal winners, but many thanks for posting! Jade's routine suites her much more, and to think she's done this so soon after NCAAs is awesome. Delightful to see both Suni and Gabby doing well. Come on ladies, we are all rooting for you!
Omg! Finally a routine choreographed for jade that is good! What a difference! You can tell she put in the work, but also whoever helped choreograph this routine is a genius, it seemed fluid and natural for her! It’s great to see these comebacks!
I'm glad to see Jade and Gabby's vaults back-to-back. I was initially tempted to agree that Gabby's should have scored higher than Jades, but seeing them next to each other like this you can really see that Jade has more power--but with an equally good landing (better in the sense that her chest is completely up when she lands). Don't get me wrong, Gabby's was still gorgeous and high, and her form in the air was a little better than Jade's.
Bye! Jades scrappy normal blue collar form, compared to Gabbys gorge vault. BYE. Jades large hop as well. Bye! But you peppered in all these coments talkin bout this magical new Jade artistry... bye!
@@erinm9445 Some shiz never changes. This person has been stalking Jade for YEARS now, for no other purpose than to spew negativity. It's like an obsessed embittered ex.
It's still a dream to see Gabby's DTY after 8 years. Imagine she's even better when the world is regressing on vault? Other events are still working in progress for sure, but I'm happy to see her competing!
@@colesmith7509 With hit routines Gabby can score well into the 50+ area… she scored 50+ with falls she can very much meet the qualifying score to compete AA at nationals if she hits everything at classics And this isn’t even her full difficulty yet either… idk what you’re talking about. She has a cheng which most of the girls don’t have so if she whips that out and can get consistent on both bars and beam she is absolutely a top contender be fr
A moment of appreciation for Myli Lew's handstand position on bars and Jade's vast improvements on artistry and toe point--she no longer looks like a robot executing skills!
Keep those toes pointed and those legs together! There's no sense in giving points away two tenths at a time! So glad to see Suni back in action! Good luck to all of you!
@@pajamamama5965 That was at Winter Cup, this is the American Classic. She only competed vault and beam. However, she did do bars in podium training and looked really good!
I’m glad Jade did so good!!! And Gabby is definitely on my dream team, but after this I really don’t see it coming to reality. Her difficulty is not high enough, I just hope she sticks around and maybe get a medal at worlds 2025
What do you mean after this??? She still has classics/nationals and if she qualifies to trials she can improve there too She literally just had her first competition back 8 years removed from the sport where is the grace y’all were giving Suni for that piss poor winter cup performance? Is gabby not allowed any grace? Can she not improve from here? 🙄 She scored a 50+ with 3 fucking falls if she hits she can score well OVER that like be fr
@@HazelAmarie well the problem I see is that she will have to be able to hit her routines and also upgrade her difficulty. I dont think she will have the time to do both and her difficulty as it is now wont do the job. I hope I'm wrong tho, I really hope she can make it. Suni's case (ignoring floor) is different because the difficulty is already there and with her potential beam and bars she can help the team, but still hard to make the team is she is not doing the all around.
Without a doubt this is the best Jade has moved on floor, she was always amazing at tumbling but her movements were always too robotic, she finally found the bakance
Wow, Myli has really upped her game. And it's really lovely to see Jade back on.track; last year wasn't a great year for her and I wasn't sure she would get back to the level needed for a Paris bid. Same with Suni - fingers and toes crossed her her.
Can someone plz clarify for me - did Suni not compete on bars? Or she did compete but didn't rank top 3? I looked for her bar routine but couldn't find it. If she didn't compete on bars... does anyone know why?
She’s playing safe and she’s clever. She just wanted to qualify for nationals and she did for two events, beam and vault. She can petition to compete AA in nationals and as the reigning AA Olympic champion they will accept it, leaving her more time to prepare. She had a similar strategy in 2021, when she only competed AA in nationals and trials.
Low stakes competition. Easier on her body and joints. She still got a massive score even with a watered down routine. She’s gonna be a great asset to the team if she keeps it up!
This looks like a testing grouns for 3 major olympic contenders Suni, Jade and Gabby. Taking it easy and not revealing or competing at 100% yet. The rest needs to catch up.
Because she’s already in the national team. National team gymnasts don’t participate in American classics (there can be exceptions but usually they don’t)
The camera work and the crappy angles shot in the abandoned WalMart/gym for this meet was a joke and no scores posted, no athletes ID on events and the lousy quad screen all makes for a really bad way to judge these gymnasts. Jade just got done doing NCAA championships a few days before, Suni is coming back from a life threatening illness, and Gabby Douglas from a 8 year absence....not a whole lot you can really tell from this competition other then the ladies know which is the front of their leos from the back. The scoring is typical for a domestic meet.
Myli also had a very deep squat on her punch front, and that landing cost her a lot with low chest plus the steps. Meanwhile, this was the best Jade's rhythm and artistry have ever looked on beam, she was quite fluid through most of it! The scoring here was too generous across the board, but I think it was reasonably fair between gymnasts, they just all got like a 0.5 bonus!
@@erinm9445 God you Jade apologists make me laugh so hard. It was the same stop and go slow geriatric movements SHE HAS ALWAYS DONE. I THink you WANT to see something that isnt there so you are creamin and any crumb saying OMG LOOK so much BETTER... Lies....

@@erinm9445that’s true. Myli did have a deep squat. But objectively speaking, Jade’s artistry still leaves a lot to be desired. That’s coming from someone who doesn’t care about beam artistry 😂 I don’t agree about the 0.5 bonus bc imo myli would have gotten the same e score (7.7) internationally.
A 13.6 for jade on beam for that performance? I think not. I’m struggling with the domestic v international scoring gap this quad. I feel like with this many great athletes the margin of error in picking the wrong team due to scoring inflation is a real threat.
These aren’t fig brevit judges. Scoring will be better in nationals and trials (still some overscore since American judges do overscore, but not so much as here)
@@leykimayri I think given it’s jade most likely not a big deal but this meet for a lot of the girls serves as a trial for what upgrades and routines will be scored in the running for Paris so I think the margins should be smaller between scoring.
@@eliseperron1928 None of these girls will go to Paris without firstly passing through AA nationals and then trials. And quite honestly only Jade and maybe Suni from those girls have a chance to reach trials, also Gabby if a miracle happens lol and the world turns completely upside down.
@@leykimayri I know how it works LOL obviously they go through nationals and trials. Many many of these girls qualified for nationals from this meet including Nicole Tatum Cambry Myli Malea Brooke Ashlee and Brynn and for all of these girls, a fair score to use as a benchmark would be a jumping point. This meet just seemed astronomically Overscored.
@@eliseperron1928 They will get experience on nationals. Like I said these aren’t FIG Brevit judges so they don’t know well to score the routines and this isn’t a significant competition.
Funny how people are saying the artistry isn’t there for Jade. HELLO!? None and I mean none of the current crop has any artistry. They pose prettier than the others and move their arms prettier but it isn’t dance so really just lay off the artistic stuff. No one has it. 😂
None has it to the level that YOU think and YOU feel and YOU desire but I FEEL and I THINK it is absolutely there in Shilese, Nola, Tiana and a number of the others to varying degree. People like yourself always come on here to express you all OPINIONS and pose them as facts showing that you all are either uneducated or simply stupid.
That’s fine that you don’t.. you don’t know that though she can very well get her program together and pull this off. Doubt after her first meet is ridiculous lmao
I sadly agree. Don't get me wrong, she looks amazing after 8 years off...I just don't see her doing all the clean up she needs on landings and choreography and getting her endurance up to the level necessary in time for nationals to be picked over those already at the top of the list.
@@residentwidow3202 Y’all so quick to doubt Gabby didn’t y’all say this in Rio??? Best believe Gabby will be stepping foot in that gym getting her repetitions up .. she will be fine by classics y’all are bound to be wrong.
@HazelAmarie I don't recall her routines being this messy before Rio at all. I want her to be on top - but the routine she did this weekend does not have the difficulty to absorb the current failures and be competitive domestically. Cleaning up her routines is a big task alone, and frankly I see Team USA wanting to see higher difficulty routines by Nationals too, which makes her task even harder. Do I hope she's up for it? Of course. But I'm also realistic and recognize there's already a group of girls with high consistency and higher difficulty ready to go that's she's got to be better than to get her spot.
@@residentwidow3202 She has the difficulty she just has to consistently hit her routines. She can clean up on the landings and keep in mind she already has an AA program after an 8 year hiatus. And y’all were saying she had no chance and didn’t feel she deserved to be in Rio going into that Olympics and now y’all are doing the SAME shit. Idk how many times Gabby has to turn up for y’all to stop doubting her… she can have a better showing at classics and nationals. She needs more repetition.
Gabby had a great vault and she was 8 years removed from the sport she has to get back into the swing of things .. the others have been back and aren’t coming off a long hiatus such a nonsensical comparison l
This is her first competition after 8 years. She has shown a very promising development on vault. Other countries would dream of having such DTY _NOW_ as the world is regressing on vault. She only needs more numbers to hit her beam and bars routine in full.
@@shanicesidacia1699 were comparing the same vault though. Gabby squatted her landing and still took a hop. And her distance from the table isn't as good. I never said Jade had a good landing. She didn't. Hers was just better than Gabby's.
