The numbers on the number/license plate tells you the year a car was built. A Are these presenters still alive hahah…..man has this guy got a rabbit hole to go down. You are commenting without any knowledge of these three brilliant presenters and the style they like in a car
Jaguar pretty much went bankrupt in the 90's and Ford bought it... I think in 99 (they also bought land rover and aston martin) eventually ford sold jaguar and land rover to Tata (indian car company and many other things) who remain the primary owners. Fun fact jaguar never turned a profit during the time ford owned it Aston martin was bought by an independent LLC in 2008 and eventually became independent and started trading in the London exchange market
I was googling some things and Jag is iwned by Tata Motors which is Indian- Also im happy to say all 3 presenters are alive theyre doing a new show called The Grand Tour Jeremy got fired for having a argument wuth the producer so he got fired and the other 2 hate him but like him so they left to go make the show
I used to own a rover and when other cars would see you/me in their rear view mirror they would let you pass, that was the love for Rover. The sheer size and power let them know "you better get out of the way", even cops moved over. it handled like a pickup truck but the comfort and ease was irreplaceable. It was the poormans richmans car and I miss it.
Basically what they should have done in America was just push this show as is and wait for people to grow to like it, instead you got some crap renake with TANERRRRR FOUUUST and some other random dudes including some unfunny comedian from New York.
If you're getting into Top Gear and F1 at the same time, then there's a couple of 'crossover' clips that might be worth checking out, like Richard Hammond driving Alonso's championship winning Renault, Ayrton Senna's (One of F1's GOATs) tribute, and all of the interviews with F1 drivers: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EGUZJVY-sHo.html
In 2015 Jeremy Clarkson was sacked by The BBC for punching a producer, Richard Hammond and James May left and all three went to amazon and started making The Grand Tour, they are only doing specials. Jeremy Clarkson presents Clarkson’s Farm on amazon, currently filming the second series, James May presents Oh Cook on amazon (James May recently released his own gin called James Gin) and Richard Hammond presents Richard Hammond’s Workshop on Discovery Channel. Top Gear is still on The BBC it recently moved from BBC2 to BBC1.
Welcome to the real world. Start - Top Gear Season 2, Episode 1 Once they stop hosting it, immediately switch to ‘The Grand Tour’ on Amazon. Then you’ll understand why Clarkson’s Farm is the best new show, to make you laugh (Not counting TG and GT), since Married With Children. You’ve entered a larger entertainment world, I’m subbing to your channel in hope that I get to enjoy your reaction to meeting these three for the 1st time. For 20 years, they’ve brought me nothing but laughs.
The Rover 75s were manufactured by the Rover Group at Cowley, Oxfordshire, for one year. After owner BMW sold Rover, the 75 was manufactured by the new MG Rover Group at their Longbridge site in Birmingham. MG is now a Chinese company. Nanjing Auto acquired some assets of MG Rover Group and Powertrain Ltd in 2005 after the group had entered administration. According to the purchase agreement, Nanjing Auto bought MG, Austin, and some other dormant British car brands, and the production technology and equipment for the MG ZT and MG TF models. Some equipment and blueprints were repossessed by Honda, as its intellectual property was used in some of MG Rover vehicles, in particular, the Rover 45 and MG ZS, which were based on the Honda Domani.[1]
I don't know if it's just me, but while you're perfectly in sync, the video of what you're reacting to seems to be a few seconds behind the audio. Great reactions, though. To get round the BBC block, you could, if you like, upload your reactions to Dailymotion (which accept full reactions too if you want to do it that way, although they only allow half an hour per video so you'd have to split most of them up into parts) by uploading a little introductory video for each episode here and a link to the Dailymotion video in the description on YT. I'm sorry, I know it sounds a bit long-winded and finicky but most reactors have resorted to this method now that youtube has become so shit with what they do and do not (mainly do not) allow people to upload.
Jaguar is a British brand but got bought by Ford then Ford sold it to the Indians .....it's hard to keep up ...a bit like Chrysler, being German and Italian ...or now part of a worldwide group including Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Jeep etc etc ..there's really no such car wholly owned by a particular nation anymore...I guess Ford come close
I like this era of Top Gear so I don't mind a throwback episode - it hasn't aged well though, I don't think there are any real "British" cars anymore, not mass produced ones anyway. The main cars made here are Nissans and Vauxhall/Opels for the European and British Market. I suppose the Nissans could be considered kind of British because you won't find those models on the streets of Japan, but they aren't that popular in the UK either so the days of manufacturing them may be numbered. Most people drive either a Ford (like myself) or get a Merc or BMW on lease...it's annoying that we support the German economy so much as a nation by buying these cars but you can't deny they are the best thing you can own (or usually lease) on a fairly normal persons salary.
Jaguar landrover (rangerover) aston martin bentley rolls royce mini mclaren vauxhall and lotus. British brands, british design, british manufacuring. Some just have foreign parent companies
I think Aston Martin is still British. But they do now have an engine from BMW, the steering rack from a Ford GT, and the dashboard and SatNav from a volvo. Most of it is still british. I think... lol. I once had a girlfriend who had an Aston Martin DB9. I wasn't allowed to drive it. She traded it in for for the new GTR. I did get to drive that. She let me take it around the Isle Of Man TT course. I hit 135mph. She went round and the clock said 199mph. She was so mad that she never got to 200mph. all fooking weekend I had to put up with her shit.
In that video. They could have a decent Morgan, that Noble. A Caterham. The hottest McLaren. But they missed The Range Rover... Best all round British car is the Range Rover...
VW R32. the best car I've never owned. I've played with it around tracks and I so wish I had bought one. I bought a GTR instead. The 32's were no longer on sale.
the cars the usa were making 2003 were horrid, bad quality and so many very bland as pleasing to look at as washing machine . the uk cars on show here are all far more interesting and better looking for the time. for the rover brand for a long time they partnered with honda, the rover 200 and the 400 was a honda civic but was setup for our roads so handled better less crashy bumpy ride. the rover 75 in this vid they did have MG version the fastest sporty one called MG ZT and 500PS supercharged 4.6 litre Ford Modular V8. BMW bought 80 per cent of Rover Group for pounds 800m, cash; the remaining 20 per cent stayed with Honda. rover now if im right owned by Chinese so never buy one.
Hahaaa... The car you call gorgeous has the rear light clusters from a Ford mondeo. Corvettes are not well engineered cars and only go in straight lines. American cars are notoriously bad at cornering. They're not exactly gorgeous themselves either. Totally agree on the rover though 😂🤣😂.
