This looks like what you and your buddies cook at 1:30 am after coming home from the bar and whatever is left in the fridge gets tossed together cuz everyone has the munchies. "There's like 8 lbs of burger in here that expires tomorrow, let's make giant burgers...and spaghetti. Tim, bring those Cheetos over here, I got an idea."
When they snapped the pasta in half... I felt a great disturbance in The Force. As if thousands of voices cried out in agony... It felt like it was coming from Italy.
I moved to NYC in 1980. On East 88th Street between 2nd and 1st Ave. A Jackson Hole was on 2nd and 84th. i would sit at the counter and get a Balduni Burger. Medium rare, cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms. Fries. A bowl of pickles and a Heinekens. Oh boy. The best. I had a million of them. They moved down the street a couple of years later to open a larger, cooler location. Took many people there. They all loved it. Would love to have one right now. The video does not do them justice but nice to see.
I don't enjoy putting everything edible in the burger to make it look big and appetising, it's good as it is. Same goes for pizza, keep it simple, keep it delicious.
Agree a 100% like Bourdain said a Burger needs to be designed to grab everything in one bite. Patty, Lettece, Tomato, Onions and the chesse. Same gorda for the pizza, plain mozzarellla sílice is the way to go
Saludos a los paisas que cocinan chido, como siempre, en friega y exponiendo su talento. Dios los bendiga y saben que los extrañamos un buen.. Thanks to this channel.. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
First experienced this place back in the 90's. The bowl of pickles on every table was a crowd pleaser. Nice to see they are still around serving up those huge delicious burgers..
Another example why Americans are so fat! And have high blood pressure and diabetes! Let's not forget about the heart attacks! But that looks so good to eat! Lol 🤣🤣
Thumbs up to these restaurant owners. so brave of them to open up to everyone to see...... I mean sometimes the result is "note to self: don't go there" not something they want, on the other hand the opposite happens often too
I go way back with Jackson Hole. Used to eat at the one on 86th and Columbus Ave. There's another one on 60-something street on the east side that I also frequented. I discovered this one on 35th by doing a google search. I had not had a JH burger in about 20 years and got the hankering for one. The minute I tasted it I knew I was at JH. JH burgers have remained consistently good and they have that familiar JH taste. I stop by this place every now and then after my visit at the VA Hospital on 23rd and First Ave. JH burgers are my favorite. There may be better by I love my JH burgers.
I had a burger like this with fries at The Jackson Hole in Astoria, Queens the other day. When I saw the size of the thing, I was like there is no way I'm gonna finish this monstrosity. A few minutes later, my plate was clean. Amazingly delicious burger and fries.
They still have 4 locations, this one which I went to once but won’t again, it’s pub like with limited seating in the middle of Manhattan. There’s another location in Manhattan Jersey and Astoria, Queens which I go to. It’s in a old school diner service is on point. If you can go visit and enjoy!!!
I need to give a BIG 👍to whomever puts these videos together. I've gain many ideas from these episodes on what to make for dinner. I live in the West Coast, California, where the same recipes for a simple taco, sandwich, hotdog, roast, hamburger, etc; are the same. I'm a foodie, and I love to cook and get ideas. When I go to a restaurant, I look at their menu at what makes this restaurant stand out, meaning what their signature dish; all the same. I look at this channel as recipes for a simple dish. East Coast stands out, a simple Mac and cheese, pizza to die for. I haven't been up East for yrs. Boston and New Yok were the areas in a simple little café or a mom and pop's whole in the wall. Thank you 💋 for GREAT ideas to a delicious meal 🥰🍽🍺
When visiting NY years ago I happen to wander into Jackson Hole to try their food. I ordered a regular cheeseburger (nothing fancy) and sat at the counter watching the cook make my burger and talking with him, he was super nice and my cheeseburger was simply amazing !!!! Without question, one of the best cheeseburger’s I’ve ever had in my life and I live in Vegas where we have some pretty good food so I know great food when I’m eating it. Jackson Hole will be on my list next time I’m in NY.
Although the preparation of the foods doesn't what's been shown in TV since this is the real things, it's still looks good & delicious especially with all the cheeses.
I love how so many people are saying they're butt-hurt by the breaking of the pasta but not even mentioning the fact that it's dehydrated store bought pasta....HILARIOUS!
I usually go to the one in Astoria. I think they need to season their burgers a bit better. BUT they aren't densely packed. They crumble when you bite into them, which to me, is good.
I had no idea that Jackson Hole was still around. I ate there all the way back in 1986. I had the blue cheese mushroom burger, and I finished it. It was incredible. Great to hear they are still around. I have to return.
@@markdagostino4891 That is something you remember. Sitting there, watching them make the burger, and knowing you are gonna do it. So cool to see they still do the same thing.
I was probably sitting in a booth close by. Loved Jackson Hole and am amazed (in the best way possible) they're still going strong. Especially after Covid destroyed so many iconic NYC restaurants
I'm watching this a day after having a belly button hernia manually reduced in the ER at the same time with inflamed bowels obviously not wanting to eat thinking I'd eat any of this guys stuff (just not right now) His presentation skills are off the chart .
Just had one of these burgers, you can definitely tell they use great ingredients. A good pub burger has the meatiness and juiciness you can’t get in smash burgers.
My friend told me about this place they had a different location on the upper west side which is closed but I'll try this spot for sure looks delicious 😋
Back in grade school we used to go Jackson hole on 85th & 2nd Ave. which later moved to 83rd st. My go-to was the bacon cheeseburger deluxe. The onion rings were awesome too!
1:23 Italians : nooo!!! You don't break the pasta! put it straight up or find a bigger pan other than that means war. (Sorry I can't find that Italian hand gesture in the emojis)
A little piece of the Italian in me left my body when I witnessed that travesty. Actually audibly gasped and woke my sleeping wife up to show her. She was not impressed, both with my waking her and the food crime.
Never been there. When I lived in "The Hood", growing up and then working, these spots were called "Greasy Spoons". Eat in or take out, they were great for a lunch during work or a classic Bacon , egg n cheese with a coffee in the morning. The special was always a burger, fries and a drink. Fries were awesome and this never gets old, unless it's Old School, then it will Always Make You Smile and feel Hungry. Juniors in Brooklyn was the Tops.
When i was a kid in the 80s this was my place. My aunt lived on 34st and i always hit hem up on the way home. Im sure its alot more expensive now. Back then was a bargain.
Looking at those pattys, I can determine that these people in the video are indeed making hamburguers the most american way possible in human existence
You’ve got to be kidding, they throw everything on the burger that isn’t up a tree at the count of 3. More like hang-over cooking or raiding the fridge.
As the GM of the Cadillac Grille and Billy's Burgers in Jackson Hole, WY for many years, it's good to see homage being paid to the Famous Billy and Betty burgers that we used to crank out. Sadly, the original Billy Burgers and the Cadillac Grille are no longer.
Damn, I thought this was a Kansas thing, but now that you mention it, the flavor profile could only exist from Wyoming. Thank you for the reveal, because I was having a hard time trying to figure out “who in the actual phuck” would enjoy these ignorant flavor combinations. In the words of Gordon Ramsay, “bloody hell!”
I used t live on E 66 St in NYC, two blocks south was what I think was the original Jackson Hole Wyoming on the ground floor of an old apartment house. It had a little patio out back and I remember eating there many times in the 80s and 90s before I moved to Florida. I recall at THAT shop, the cooks would take a squirt bottle of water and spray it on the grill under the metal bowls, I guess the steam helped melt the cheese. My favorite was the bleu cheese burger. MAN. I'm hungry now.
I love how so many people are saying they're butt-hurt by the breaking of the pasta but not even mentioning the fact that it's dehydrated store bought pasta....HILARIOUS!
