@@oldironsides4107 one of the pizzas, looked like he added sauerkraut, which is actually delicious. Years ago in Iowa, at Rocky Rococo’s (sic?) I fell in love with their signature square pizzas, especially the sauerkraut.
I've always been so envious of your videos with the delicious looking food. I can finally say I've been to this restaurant so many times and it's delicious!
Wow, this brought back great memories. I worked at Happy Joe's Pizza & Ice Cream Parlour in Jackson Wyoming for a couple years in the late 70s. I could smell the memories from the dough making to the final product delivered to the tables.
My wife grew up by a Happy Joe's. 1st pizza is "Happy Joe's Special' ham and sauerkraut 2nd Taco 3rd BLT 4th Philly cheese steak 5th Reuben 6th spaghetti 7th 4-quartered various
I grew up eating here.... never have been able to find a taco pizza anywhere near as good as happy Joe's in Ames, Iowa! Whats up and thanks Hank and Andy and the Koehler family!
It’s so sad how these people (a lot of Italian’s) want to criticize what they have never had! Plus, have they talked with the actual owner’s of the company? Even they would say this is not a traditional style of pizza, get over yourselves!
My grandmother started making taco pizza back in the 70s, my mother made her version and now I make mine. Each have put our own twist on it. Grandma made a regular cheese pizza with all the toppings from a taco. My mother replaced the mozzarella with colby jack and added tortilla chips. I made the most drastic change, removed the pizza sauce, added black olives and replaced the plain tortilla chips with nacho cheese tortilla chips
@@AndreaMelk92 then you can't call taco bell Mexican food cuz the only thing Mexican about it is the people making that crap. If it's on a pizza dough it's pizza
@@hellhound1389 Let an Italian judge what is pizza and what is not. I can't argue about your hot dog, i can use any good italian bread, any good italian sausage (or wurstel). I cant just put them togher and call it hot dog. This is not even a pizza is a giant taco. Trust me, you've never seen a real italian dough. In that case you should be literally unable to call that mess "pizza"
@@hellhound1389 Yes, taco bell is not real mexican food. In Italy we say "hai scoperto l'acqua calda". Literally "you discovered the hot water", basically a way to highlight your obviusness
LOVE the Happy Joe's Special (Canadian bacon & sauerkraut)! I used to get them regularly when I was going to school in Madison, WI. Really looking forward to my upcoming trip to Des Moines, and seriously pumped to hear that you're building a new Happy Joe's in Naples, FL, less than 4 hrs from where I live now!!!
this is giving me great ideas for my next pizza night! i'm amazed that such an establishment dedicated to making unique and delicious pizzas existed in the Iowa state!
@@rich077140 stop calling it pizza please. This is not pizza, it's just a mix of crap flour, tap water, chemical yeast and instrustial topping. Call it Junk, but not Pizza. You are killing me.
That sauce on the pizza is almost like Strattu that nonnas used on sundays when I was at Carlo Bo studying. Nonna Maria used to put that on crusty bread with pecorino romano cheese oofa it was delicious 🤤
We had a Happy Joe's in Topeka Kansas in the mid 70's to early 80's. The Taco Joe was to die for. And then one day I drove there and it was shut down. They had a great product. I couldn't understand it. 😢
never saw videos this good... i think the fact that nobody talks during the video, is such an enhancement to the experience...narration is overrated. also, besides what your videos must do for the businesses, that camera you use is absolutely top quality. would love to know what kind of camera. thank you for your videos. it's not surprising to see more than 7M subs
The first thing I noticed is that they wore gloves to get the dough from the mixer to a container that looked like it had rat poop on it, but never wore gloves the rest of the process...just me?
Didnt expect much hope for those pizza's while they were being made, but WOW. They all look absolutely delicious! Would love to have this place near my house!
