As someone who has worked in a smokehouse for many years I have to point out something. Those racks in the smoker are SPOTLESS. I think the owner decided to buy new ones for when the film crew came in lol
Yet he goes and hangs up a set of tongs with mac and cheese all over them, I've been a chef for 30 yrs , I just don't like tye raw chicken juice gloves going into that seasoning in the beginning let's hope that rub isn't used for anything else
I love Hudson Smokehouse. Wings are the best in the Bronx. Brisket is killer. Delicious ribs. Crispy fries. Great beer tap selection. Great bbq sauce and the beautiful smell of bbq 😊
In such tumultuous and uncertain times, I’m enjoying comfort content like this so much, even if I can’t afford them myself. Food prices have sky rocketed everywhere and perhaps hardest hit is in the restaurant sector. What increase we see in the stores has likely gone much higher in the hospitality industry. All of my Covid haul of stockpile are slowly dwindling and I simply cannot afford to stock up like I used to.
Just gotta learn to cook on your own. While I don't know the exact seasoning used I know exactly what they're doing. They pre-baked the wings and then fry them to order. The sauce is basically a hennessy spiked syrup which is similar to hot honey, both recipes and the spice mix are available to find on RU-vid. Times suck right now, no doubt, but if you know how to cook you can do better at home for way cheaper than almost any restaurant out there. Learn the basics of cooking and apply them if you wanna save money and eat good. I've had to go on food stamps a few times in the past and I'll tell you what...I ate like a king off of $200 a month shopping on sales and cooking it myself.
@@Iampatrix I’m a competent cook, competent enough to follow recipes well enough. The issue is people who were already struggling to make ends meet before everything went sideways are now finding it next to impossible to get the ingredients at a reasonable price. Meat like poultry just aren’t affordable anymore. A whole chicken is between $10-15 per. It used to be $6-7 on sale but those are few and algae between. Canned products have also seen an increase but eating those regularly is depressing.
@@MisterMister5893 hey I'm not arguing how difficult things are, they are really hard, I've spent the last 2 years building up a pantry of canned goods every time I came across a good sale to prepare for it and even still food costs are ridiculous. And it's not like that's good eating having to eat canned goods, but the lockdowns in 2020 taught me that lesson. But there are also things people have always done to save money. Poultry prices have increased for wings and breasts, but legs, thighs, and quarters haven't gone up that much. I hit up the morning sales when I can and stock up on the marked down meat that's going to expire and freeze it. Wings are ridiculous but I can get a dozen legs for around $3.50 on average marked down, so I eat that instead. Pork is still pretty well priced, i basically never eat beef anymore. Yes it sucks but there are ways to make it work, people have been doing it forever, we just have to find the work arounds. Don't let the depression get the best of you, like I said I've literally had a food budget of $200 a month and made it work. I would literally spend days just imagining and planning my meals to make something to lift my spirits on a budget, I'd go a whole day without eating just to plan a meal that'd make me happy to cook. But that's me, you just have to find your own way.
I'm from Massachusetts it wouldn't take that long for me to get there that looks so delicious that's going to be on my 2023 bucket list. Happy New Year to all
Greetings my friends, we are now on youtube. We share our unique dishes that we cook in nature, wood fire every Friday. We are waiting for all food lovers 👋
@@Poeticfloetic Bistec.....Its cube steak with adobo seasoning, lots of minced garlic, Sliced onion, oil +vinegar slow cooked on stove for at least an hour. makes its own tangy gravy served with white rice....Damn Im hungry again!
I live in the Bronx… and I’ve had Barbecue from this spot before. On two occasions actually. I ain’t gonna lie, both times it was horrible, straight trash. But maybe I need to try the wings one day
Ikr!! That hot wing sauce looks like the off brand version? They should be branding their own sauces & their own seasoning to be in that type of business? Ijs@@gilmadrid6322
I had eaten there several months ago and really expected great BBQ as a southern from South Carolina. I can honestly say that what I had was complete trash. The Brisket seemed to be cooked too high and not long enough as it was VERY over seasoned and tasted salty. The greens were not great either, the Mac and cheese was how you seen it and also the fountain drinks tasted like seltzer water🤣🤣 it was definitely a waste of money for me, but might be great to some. But my Southern Taste buds couldn’t take it and I ended up throwing everything away.
@@ulquiorra3104 yeah it be that way! But I can honestly say that it was an experience that would keep me away from that chain forever. But to each it’s own.
@@pmc220 right! What looks good doesn’t always please the taste buds. For instance, The Greens tasted like they had cooked them with straight apple cider vinegar and was spicy AF! It’s definitely not worth the money, but I hope this honest review would save some people time and money from a not so great spot! But I’m sure they might have something on the menu that’s better. The Bodega 2 doors down has better food for sure🤙🏽
I live a few blocks away from this spot, this is my fav brunch spot on the weekends, u get brisket home fries eggs bacon and a mimosa or bellini for under 20 bux… best money you will ever spend
lol, I looked up Hudson's Smokehouse in SC by mistake and the menu prices seemed very reasonable but I realized that it was wrong. The menu for Hudson Smokehouse has no prices listed, if that is not a warning I am not certain what is.... those Hennessy wings look outstanding, and the dry spice wings look delicious as well
Hello, does anyone have an idea of what ingredient was added to the pot at 4:44 of the viewing time? If you have idea of the ingredient could you please list it. Thank you.
No Sir. The Raw wing touched the almost-done Rack of Ribs at minute 3:25. Also the raw wings are dripping on the rack below it..that's correct, on the Slab of ribs
I bet they taste great. Only thing missing is the love. We’re in the speed era. If you can’t do speed and love… pick love. Start with gloves. The glove thing in America is definitely a problem. Same gloves handle the equipment, the counter, pop up problems, then the food.
Been here a few times. Staff was friendly, their wings are fine, look better than they taste, but their ribs are better. Portion sizes for their sides are MUCH smaller when you order.
The par-cook in the smoker then crisping in the fryer is excellent. side: making that sauce means no hair on the hands or forearms... eyebrows, too, if not real careful
When I was young I worked in a busy kitchen and I remember these words to this day that were yelled at me by the head chef “When your ass is in the kitchen and you cooking, take off your ring, watch and anything else that can contaminate the food! You ain’t showing off to nobody in here”
Umm that macaroni and cheese isn’t traditional American style. The best kind is from baked Black American style. Not that Prego cheddar cheese looking stuff. Fried too?👀No ma’am. The wings looked very tasty doe.👍🏽
O man Thoses wings look 👀 awesome lee delicious an mouth 👄 watering O YUMMM wing's 😋 I bet they come at a BIG price too 😢 last time I ordered wings I spent $50 FOUR LIKE 20 WINGS THAT WERE NOT BIG AT ALL THATS BS 😠
When I work with chicken I always have disinfectant spray and water that I can wash my hands with plus I change my gluvs regularly as to not cross contaminate
