The greatest golfer that ever lived in my opinion. Simply magnificent. The fact that he won the slam as an amateur while working a job puts all modern professionals to shame. That swing was powerful, yet beautifully flowing and exquisite.
Won 13 majors, 46% win rate, went months between majors without touching a club, collecting law degree and others at the same time period then shocked the golf world by retiring at the age of 28 yes 28 yrs old. He was far ahead of everyone in winning majors and after the grand slam there were no more mountains to climb. I wonder can anyone other than Bobby go months without touching a club and win any tournament, he did it and won majors.
Gordon Carr, for the record.. 1930 British Amateur was won at St. Andrews 1930 British Open was won at Royal Liverpool (Hoylake) 1930 US Open was won at Interlachen 1930 US Amateur was won at Merrion
