People in Washington seem to underestimate the power of a dodger and a Hoochie. I tie my own and have had really good success. Even ‘untipped’ just pure Hoochie.
For those who are military suggests letting them know where they can access the lake if they don't want to use the public access to the lake. Nice catches!!
Excellent idea. I know of two launches for those with access to the military installations... the first is at Russell Landing on North Fort, the other is on Camp Murray. If you know of others let us know. Thanks for the idea of sharing.
@@SoundFishing2020 yeah when I got stationed at Lewis I only new of the Lewis side. Then I found out that camp Murray has a launch, then there is a public access behind camp Murray but still open to public, there is a spot down the road from Murray at Harry Todd Park. VA hospital has a dock but found out even if your a disabled vet like I am I can’t use it unless your houses there. In the lake city area near VA you have the public launch there next to the beach, finally this is one more area down from the beach that has a platform and little launch there as well!
@@SoundFishing2020 yeah it does, but I will never know lol! Here is a clip of one of my kokanee catches on American lake ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fxxTdNKkEJg.html
Great video Tom! All them trout were in great shape! Must be feeding then gravy at the hatchery. I've never tipped va rooster tail with corn. Very cool idea.
There are two public launches the WDFW launch and the American Lake Park Boat Launch. There are also two launches on the military base if you have access. One at Russell Landing Marina and the other at Camp Murray.
ABSOLUTELY!!! I just finished fishing American Lake over the past few days with the kids and we caught limits each day. Fish the north end of the lake in the top 1-10 feet of water. Most fish caught were about 5 feet deep and almost all caught were rainbows except for 1 kokanee. Long lining with light gear... what a blast. I have a video I'm posting tomorrow be sure to check it out. Good luck.
