Watch out Tom the 428 Wagon is now the star of the show! Great series - as a Londoner who visits the States regularly I love the cars featured in this programme and appreciate the respectful and knowledgeable way they are introduced and reviewed. This programme is the best production of its type at the moment and the producers should seriously consider extending it. I even like the music and the guitar lick on the links.
Trevor Willis Actually, "rare" is not the best word to use, as rare means there are a very few others like it. The best word to use would be "unique", or "one off".
MrGambler650 interesting,,, my Pharmacy School car was a 66 GALAXIE XL/4 SPD/352 BURGANDY:: anlucky Buy....I improved it quite a bit : bit was a great ride for many miles and years ...
I live near Tom and he came and spoke to a club I belonged to many years ago. Awesome guy. I am so glad he bought that wagon! Hope to see it around Charlotte. I'd love to trade rides with him for a couple hours.
That wagon was a great find Tom, I love it. I'm glad you got it and look forward to seeing it in future episodes. The exhaust sounded awesome in the beginning of the video. Two thumbs up!
I can. Happens all the time. Especially if it needs an engine. These cars were not looked on as anything special back then. It was just another used car needing major repairs an owner couldn't afford and didn't want to sell. The back roads of our country are loaded with vehicles just like this. Plus the more mundane ones like sedans and wagons.
I hate when people say "car has sentimental value, belonged to my father, or it has family value" if it was so sentimental and is so valuable why the hell is it out in the open rusting away? Damm
Dear Mr Cotter, You have the best car show hands down. and if I may, the information you give to all of us, is to die for, Thank you so much for your TIME and your input.Take CARE.
So he bought the Cuda, loved and and still loves it so much that he has no problem leaving it on the side of the road to rot. Then the guy with all the cars for sale that have new crate engines, never started. And others that "run & drive" yet they sit out with no windows, open doors and no hoods. So the weather, rust and time can finish what he doesn't seem to have time for.
Kimberlyexpects I have scrolled down and read many of these comments, and even replied to some of them. But yours is the first one to plainly observe these obvious facts. Congrats for your great "reality check"!
Kimberlyexpects I know so many old fellas who dont have much time on the clock an they wont budge on anything they tell me all this stuff their gonna do an 4 years later the grass an rust gets thicker lol but hey they worked hard for what they have but damn to see so many beautiful cars that will never see the day or go up the road one last time makes me cry
oh you actually bought the 428 country squire, awesome :D Speaking of barn finds, I'm picking up a -67 Volvo Amazon tomorrow that's sat for 30 years in a barn :)
Great to see you come to South Carolina! I'm in Liberty just a town away from Anderson. Drive a 62 falcon, would love to have met you! Love watching these videos, please keep it up!
Crazy seeing them in the upstate. Wow so you have had the Falcon for awhile now Micheal. Lol cant wait for your next upload buddy!! You should see if that cuda is still there for your next big build after the Porsche. Lol
Matt AdRev thats treason no cuda should have to b put through that i dont care what he survived thats y these cars are so hard to find guys like this are gonna " fix em up one day" but they're way to old and instead they let them waste away to nothing it should b illigal
Yep. So why am I thinking that some group should put the shoulder to the wheel and make that thing all new for him. No one but the vets know what they lived through over there. No one knows why he parked it and left it sit. Might just ruin it to make it all better for him, though. Just thinking out loud.
Tom glad u got the Ford wagon, im a car guy and big fan of FOMOCO, i have been buying and selling FORDs most of my life. Really like watching BARN FINDS happy hunting.
this kind of show , for a froggy like me , is like a walk into a gift shop's at Xmas when i was 8.Used to own 2 Buicks a couple of years ago , and miss them. Dream cars for a European.
Tom, I'm a Toyota Landcruiser owner and enthusiast. I have a 1974 FJ40 and it's a great vehicle to drive and easy to work on. The Japanese used the Jeep for inspiration and made them better. You should take a look at those once in awhile. They hold good value and in good condition can bring a pretty penny.
Yeah . . those short wheelbase cruisers are handy out bush , up in the Northern Territory Oz back in the day there were a couple with our crowd that had the Holden 253 V8 conversions . . there were kits to bolt em up to the standard gearbox's & also an Automatic gearbox/transfer case kit which was almost unbogable in the wet , the auto one got rolled by a mates son . . who was drifting it around a corner on the bitumen .
My friend has a 67 Corvette fastback that he bought new when he graduated from high school. He went into the Air Force during the Vietnam war. He still has the car covered up, and apart in his garage. His health is not good any longer, but he would like to see his car put back together.
the contentment of all those safe places and owners. I knew they existed.. but only in my dreams. Finding a welded frame truck and tripled stainless rockers is a good one locally. Would love to drive through sometime...and that cuda is restorable.
My dad had an Austin Healey with the jump seats for the kids. He took me and my brother to see a triple feature with the top down at a California drive in of Death Race 2000, Logans Run and Rollerball. We ate pizza and popcorn until we were sick hah. Great memories of a great guy!
When I was a kid and on vacation trips with my parents, my sister and I would count the number of four hole Buicks we saw on the road. You would be surprised how many we saw sometimes!
Tom.....I'm so jealous of your wagon! I saw ep. 13 , and knew as soon as you saw that wagon it was going to be yours! What a awesome, factory freak! I have a soft spot for station wagons, and this is a very rare one of a kind Ford! What a killer original sleeper! Love your channel, you've got a new subscriber here my friend!
My dad was able to get a new Mercury every 2 years, Colony Park wagons. The 67 we had was gold. I remember the trim thing sticking up in the steering wheel.
Can't believe Tom missed the Checker Cab wagon factory Limo. Two Jeep forward controls a '57 Belair several Ford bodies and a early Ford trucks more Jeeps. Then plenty of European cars from Alfas to a Sumbeam.
Jim's old Buick, the Plymouth, and of course that Studebaker pickup were just outstanding in the first vignette. My aunt had maybe a '55 Ply sedan pink and chestnut color and she used to take my cousin and I down to the Jersey shore on hot summer days. We stayed in a teeny cabin her relatives owned that was primitive back then, must have been built in 1925.
Oh man,you bought the Ford station wagon slash hot rod. Dude that was great seeing you driving it down the road. Didn't need to stay in storage any longer. The only thing is,someone may mistake you for Clark Griswold. The episode was fantastic too,as always. Thank you
In the mid 90's I was driving from Seneca South Carolina to Anderson South Carolina and I seen at least 10-15 acres of nothing but old cars but I have never made it back there
69 Charger RT/SE 440HP here at the track 22 years ago beat by snowmobiles! now in restoration PLUS a 71' Challenger throwing flames off the tires HERE, BRO!! /w\ Heavy Metal /w\
