I think that if you own a dog like this, you should train it. So many problems can be avoided with some basic dog training. I agree that they're gentle for the most part and whatever acts of violence they might happen to commit are not the dog's fault. They're just protecting their territory. That's why training is so important.

I mean, we know they were used for bull baiting and bear baiting and then eventually dog fighting, but weren't they used as farm dogs and hunting dogs for hogs before that? I remember that awesome video on this channel called "ALL ABOUT THE AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER WITH RICHARD F. STRATTON" where the Pit Bull expert said were used for controlling rough stock like bulls for butchers and hog hunting.

I have owned 3 apbt all off them awesome dogs.now I own 2 press as which are awesome to.the apbt is the ultimate fighting breed period.the pressa is a much better guard dog and mine are not good with people. I have to be extremely alert when out with them.they are not as dog aggressive as the pit.both the 2 best breeds I've ever owned.

People need to stop calling these dogs pit bulls, a real gamebred pit bull is a frightening creature, that breed was created by breeding champion fighters with other champion fighters constantly, they did not start off as bull dogs in england, they are the product of fighting bull dogs in america, eventually a certain type of dog arose that was winning consistently and that is the American Pit Bull Terrier, calling a dog that isnt gamebred a pit bull is an insult to that dog and imo automatically put a bad light on that dog, being gamebred is not a good thing unless your into dog fighting, a real gamebred pit bull is not a pleasant dog to own whatsoever, they require HOURS upon HOURS of exercise every single day and they are NOT friendly with other dogs whatsoever, they must be kept chained to the ground because any other way to hold them will fail, they are so game that they never give up on anything they try to do so if not chained up, they will eventually jump the fence, dig under the fence, or escape out your window if kept inside the house, once they get out, any creature that is not human is doomed, they can climb trees and run 30mph, these dogs in the video that are not gamebred they are more like staffordshire mutts and deserve their own name so that they dont have to carry this horrible reputation
