Lets not lie now, the experience would be 10x better if they did it for us. However, i dont think humans deserve such luxury and it might make us alot lazier
They will bag your groceries for you if you tell them you are unable to do it yourself. The difference is in the UK they assume you are capable of doing it, where as in the US there seems to be a general assumption that people are incapable of basic tasks. It makes you wonder how many years of training the baggers get.
Also, if you go to Aldi or Lidl to save money on your shopping, it`s rather obvious that to keep costs down you bag your own groceries. I`ll admit when they first opened it took some getting used to, as it seemed even more stressful than other supermarkets. Partly because they had less staff & so needed to work faster.
@@nasheeds8218 Actually as a Brit, if with a bagger I'd immediately feel they're not rushing enough, or are rushing me. No good option. If they were saccharine & expecting a smile & a pat on the head for doing what I could do anyway, if only left to my own bubble? I'd resent going there. 🙂
The reason Americans eat so much by using their hands is that most struggle with cutlery and have the generaleating habits of a toddler. I have witnessed this in the US on US bases in Europe and in Italy.
lets reverse it and using his logic , the US does'nt have enough Fish and Chip shops it does'nt have enough Red Double Decker buses the People there all speak with this weird accent, it does'nt sound like the English accent, so change it Why in the US is only fools and horses not on TV everynight. Why does the US not have our King as King
American pizza is an oily chesse mess sat on bread so sugary it may as well be cake. Pizza in italy is food to die for, there is no comparison Connor. Evan needs to get out of London more, he seems to have very specific and niche views on a lot of things that don't really represent the wider UK.
It's a wonder that Evan makes it to the end of each day. You know those videos where British people are asked what annoys them about Americans? They could just show this clip. There are some excellent Anglo-Saxon words that describe him.
Evan, mate, there are 65M people in UK and closer to 400M in the US. You’re used to being waited on hand and foot by someone earning a pittance to make you feel special. Now you’ve been reduced to an average UK citizen, you’re waking up! This is a great thing, it will humble you, eventually, once you accept it.
We have plenty of brands of products available in the UK supermarkets. You do not need to wait for ages for your bill in a restaurant, you just need to ask the waiter for it. We have American style bacon to, we call it streaky bacon and you can have it as crispy as you want it. Brexit is not for this gut to complain about.
Oh God, lighten up. If you wouldn’t complain about something you didn’t like if you moved somewhere else. At least he got his citizenship . He’s here because like he likes it better than the US.
He's obviously never been to a British supermarket. Because if he had he'd have noticed that we have TWO types of bacon (America just has one type - streaky). The two types we have are streaky, and back rasher. Most English fry up breakfasts will usually only use back rasher bacon. It's the more common of the two types; and more Brits prefer it to streaky. It's less fatty, and unlike streaky, is not cooked for as long. It's not meant to be crispy like streaky bacon, it's more moist and has a more subtle flavour. I prefer it to streaky.
Evan is a complete moron. He's got nothing right so far. We use cutlery because our manners are better. I wish he wasn't on this channel so much Connor and him are like chalk and cheese. Can't stand his juvenile manic delivery.
Your bacon is over here, but we call it 'streaky' bacon. Here it is usually used as a wrap for other foods, or to protect the chicken breast while cooking, for example. Nothing stops people just cooking it how they like. Waiters leave you alone in restaurants to enjoy your meal and your company until you raise your hand to call them to your table to ask for the bill.
Nobody eats burgers or pizza with a knife and fork. He's making that up. New York piazza is rubbish. He seems angry that we know how to use cutlery. Yanks snnoy me by saying fork and knife when they mean knife and fork.
I have seen English kids can't even use a knife and fork 4 and I'm an Englishman. Even English adults have stopped using it now just a fork I have noticed
if he goes to Aldi you won 't get a wide choice, that's how they keep their prices low. Go to any of the big 4 supermarkets and there are lots of choice for most things so Evan is being an arse
Yes you are right aldi's only carrier my new amount of produce compared to the main supermarkets that's why Aldi and Lidl are making huge profits they only sell the basics
Incorect the gov does block sites every gov does , in 2013 uk pushed a law that forces isps to blick file sharing sites such as purate bat a isp can be charged if they alow such sites to be acessed
In2013 isps became required to block any site the uk giv disaproves of in 2014 uk was listed worse than china for internet censorship by reporters without borders it made it off the list eventurly but in 2017 the gov created tge Communications and Digital Committee run by the house of lords unelected nobles get ti decide what websites to ban and force isps to ban them
Why does he want to live in the UK? Nothing pleases him. Moving to live in another country means adapting to the culture not trying to import your American expectations
The REASON he sees less choice is because he lives in a city and doesn’t have a car. Up to the 1990s we had huge supermarkets in every single town suburb - now we have 4 HUGE supermarkets in every single suburban town - but these are still considered out of towners that you drive to because you have a car or live next door to one - these places have every single conceivable choice of what you want and more or what you don’t want - not as much as in the USA - because the uk focuses on quality and not every single damn thing ever thought of…. What Evan Is talking about is the Tesco Metro The sainsburies local The mini market version of the supermarket And these supermarket big brand mini markets are now everywhere - in central London you’re never far away from one and they are popular because the prices are the same as in the suppermarket and not more expensive as the traditional corner shop used to be. But they are physically smaller so it’s impossible to have the same choice - but if you want choice you can still have it - just get on a bus and go get it . It really annoys me when people knowingly are misleading just to add to their content Don’t be that guy - it’s a real turn off
This is a video specifically dedicated to what Americans can fin annoying in the UK. He has plenty video's saying what he loves. He wouldnt have stayed for over 10 years if he didnt love life in the UK.
If you think American pizza, or more specific New York pizza, is better than Italian pizza, you're out of your mind. Unfortunately we have both represented in the Netherlands (both reasonably close to the originals as I know them). They shouldn't even have the same name.
All places in the UK that serve alcohol have to give out tap water for free. So no need for a fountain, they'll even serve it in a glass. Restaurants do it too. You're never far from a pub in the UK also. Sit down, have a drink, stop drinking at toilet entrances.
Re Aircon, it's nearly July and so far we've had 2 really hot nights. Having aircon would see a massive increase in energy usage all year round when it's not required which will errrrr speed up global warming. Typical American response to global warming is more energy usage and more global warming please
it's generally given that food is cheaper in the UK than US, so not sure why he is saying the opposite a Pub will 9 times out of 10 will be far better than a Diner. A Diner in the UK is a greasy spoon cafe, nothing wrong with that , they don't just do fry ups. Most Pub food is far beyond what a Diner will be doing i think this guy might actually not be in the UK, but Russia or is does he think a cornershop is the Walmart equivalent about websites not being avalible, the only 1 are GDPR ones which tend to US based and don't wish to comply with European GDPR rules due to cost. So you might not get small local US news sites. That's not the UK blocking them, that's the US site not making it avalible Is he referring to Netflix US not being avalible , again not a UK goverment thing This guy is talking a lot of balls
So, this video is about the British complaining a lot …… really? Has he listened to his complaints. He’s too loud and gets too excited. Water fountains were always around when I was at school (60’s). We do complain about the weather, but for good reason. You may wake to a beautiful day, plan to go out a little later, only for rain clouds to show up - and sunshine, or lack of it is another complaint. On the whole we don’t complain Willy-nilly - there are usually reasons … Diners are an American “thing”, there are some around here: would I go to another country and complain if they don’t have something I’m used to in England 🤔 hmmm! The bag boy? Maybe in America, but not as a matter of rote here. Anyone listening to this man would come away with a very wrong impression of the UK. PS we have a wide wide choice for toothpaste AND toothbrushes- I don’t know where he shops at. I can’t listen to this man, he wears me out - he needs to calm down.
Oh my lordie....... I'm an Aussie who travels extensively for business to the USA and UK. The UK wins in every respect except weather. And don't get me started on freaking tips. BTW, English bacon is virtually the same as we have here. US bacon is an inferior, fatty cut from the pork belly whereas English, Canadian, and Australian bacon gets cut from the loin, which gives you the juicy delicious "eye" pieces of bacon as well as some of the crispy stuff too.
In most UK supermarkets there is plenty of choice for tooth paste, in fact too much choice, I end up buying the cheapest. It's toothpaste for god sake.
19:00 WTF is he talking about???? Blocked websites???? I've never ever seen that!!! The only accurate thing he's mentioned is round culture and you can just say you only want a couple so I'll get my own. I can't listen to him anymore!
Part of Evan’s issue is he lives in London. I know he’s travelled around the UK but not enough as we do have local diner places, waiters are generally around if you need something and McDonald’s milkshake/ice cream machines are 50/50 on whether that work or not which is the same as my US experience. Love Evan but,,,,
The bigger question is, why pay thousands for an air conditioner to be installed when you’ll only use it for two weeks of summer? The other fifty weeks, it just hangs there collecting dust, and motors need to be activated to keep them in working order. It’s just not something the Brits consider economical.
its not that they break down the staff just cant be fuked to clean them cause its hassle and time consuming....i know my self...i done that shit once and once only years ago 😅
We have 2 types of cut of bacon. Back bacon and streaky bacon. They usually stock both types in every store. Evan is making things up for content, again.
Italians use a pizza cutter roller. My friends own Italian restaurants in Italy and their pizzas have less toppings in order to prevent the pizza dough from becoming soggy. They want it crispy so you can pick up a slice with one hand. It’s delicious! They also cook them in a wood fired oven.
This isn’t Evan’s finest video. He does speak some rubbish in this one for sure. I was going to defend Pizza Express but will focus on his lie about supermarkets not having much choice. He lives in London and doesn’t have a car - normal sized supermarkets with choice are not found in central London. I live in little old York, 5 minute walk or drive is a Tesco where there is a massive choice in everything. I just cannot relate to his nonsense about two types of toothpaste or toothbrush. His comments just don’t match reality.
What you call bacon in the uk is called streaky bacon, but most brits will eat what you call Canadian bacon. Britain doesn't have grocery packers cause we aren't lazy. I'm from Wales and we have several toothpastes to chose from more than two, same with toothbrushes too. Haven't had a light pull cord or toilet pull chain since 2006, my light for the toilet the switch is outside the bathroom so you switch on light before you go into bathroom and to flush my loo i have a button push type.
Think Evan was picking holes because he couldn't find anything really wrong...except Brexit. Obviously living in London, I doubt he knows much about Cymru. I'm surprised you don't have a light pull cord in your loo though, I get why they've done it, but that's usually an uncommon thing. The toilet pull chain however, haven't seen that in any building younger than like 60 years. I thought all loos these days either had the dual button system or the flush handle
@@robbpatterson6796 In Wales we aren't as backward as people think, we even have mixer taps, we even have electricity too imagine that. All loos have push dual buttons unless it's an old house of course, our houses have been modernised for really long time, some later than others depending on where you are or whether you live in a private house or council property. Plus if Evan has lived in the UK for a while, then I doubt that he wouldn't know about Wales, just cause he lives in London doesn't mean he doesn't travel outside London lol.
@@emmahowells8334 I live in Cymru too, so trust me, I know. Just because someone has lived in the UK, doesn't mean they've travelled to every part of it. I agree that he may have travelled to many places outside of London, and maybe to many other places in Sais, but the fact that he's made...how many Cymraeg videos again? makes it just seem like he doesn't know much about us
I really don’t know where he goes in london, there are lots of small cafes to have cake and coffee, also we have three types of bacon slices which is cured not boiled so it is not ham,he should go into Poundland and see the amount of different toothpaste we have and if you have someone bagging your shopping the prices would go up to pay their wages, love watching you Connor stay healthy 🌹
Ahhh the baby bacon, perfect for advertising.. love your it's to tasty argument, I agree. Our dinners are called acafes or Cafes. So what the hell is he talking About?
If he lives in London he will know that there are plenty of independent cafes to eat at. Most towns and cities have them, you just have to look for them.
First comment, and it is generally in like a tomato sauce when you buy baked beans for toast in the UK, Heinz is a very popular example. Also a lot of the McDonalds stores in the UK actually don't have a mixer for the flurries despite the design. The reason the machine is always off is because it overheats frequently and when in cleaning can take up to 8 hours sometimes, unless you want a very sour ice cream.
Don't ask to take something home from a restaurant. It's as socially acceptable as raiding the bins. Brits hate to be interrupted whilst eating, so waiters leave us in peace until we make eye contact. Of course, being a Yank, he considers waiters inferior and won't make eye contact with them.
yeah...evan's arguments are a bit weak here, the us and uk are different places, why should we become a clone of the states and lose our individuality.
Heinz beans originated in the USA! In the UK beans are served on "toast" spread with lashings of real butter. In the USA they are served directly onto warm bread. YUK!
Evan knows ( no pun intended) the voltage is hugely higher in U.K… dangerous to have in bathrooms! Hence the light switches being outside and no ports inside for electric devices. Regarding pull strings???? I can’t remember the last time I saw one of them??????
@@christineharding4190 sorry Christine I meant in public spaces like smaller cafes or b&b’s etc. A lot will have been replaced in that respect . Used to have one in my house! ❤️
I used to visit Italy a lot when I lived in Europe and the only people I saw using knife and fork when eating pizza were tourists. Maybe it's because I was poor and didn't go to super fancy places. The one cut with scissors is pizza al taglio, I wonder if you mean those. It's street food, they make pizzas in big rectangular trays and they ask you how much you want and then cut it. Because there's not a standard slice size, you pay it by the weight. The places where they serve round pizzas usually slice it with a mezzaluna (a curved knife). Maybe people cut it with scissors at home? I've never seen that.
Another thing that is out of date in this video is needing a VPN to "get round" ISP having to block certain websites as all the browsers now allow you to change from your ISP's DNS server to cloudflair or OpenDNS or Google's.
Can't help it, I only just started watching but I'm gonna comment. Firstly, I'm not a Kiwi but nice shirt Connor 🇳🇿🏉 Secondly, yes we do complain at lot but I think Connor is on to something there, often general complaining is often just small talk, especially when, (as it often is with the Uk ) the complaining is backed with humour. When it comes to actually complaining, i.e calling the waiter over to complain about the food most people will be typically British here and not complain because, well, one doesn't want to create a scene does one? We'll just complain to our friends about it later, "couldn't finish that food, bloody 'orrible, peas were like bullets! Al dente? Bloody Al denTIST more like!" And so on.
Like you Connor. You saw right through this. Seen this guy before. I think this a bit toungue and cheek. Reverse culture. He normally comes Cross ok with uk culture.
Wow wow just wow grossly exagerated 2 types of toothpaste..????? Even a small corner shop has half a dozen types... I hate that someone leaves their country but wants to bring it with them. Why leave in the 1st place..
Got to say the Russian accent making out IMO that we are a communistic country in some way coming and from a country that you have to pledge allegiance to said country makes me laugh, also on portion sizes and fast food we never really had any obesity issues in this country until we imported the US chains.
This guy has few issues 😂 to say it's not bacon when it is is crazy and to say limited fast food options 😮 most takeaways offer too many options in my view. Not going get into the other stuff as can feel myself getting angry at this. Too many lies told
