Now that you watched the highlight, let me add some context to it to spice it up. At the time, Liverpool was known for their attacking trio called FSM (Firmino-Salah-Mane). However, in this game, Salah and Firmino were out due to injuries. Barca got Messi-Suarez-Coutinho in their attack and the last two players used to be the best at Liverpool 😂. Messi & Co were already on the wrong side of another epic UCL comeback in the year before and he promised their fan a Champion League this season. Despite the odds, Liverpool’s super sub Origi and Gini came to the rescue. Liverpool went on to win the final and started a very successful period of the club. Messi is my goat but my club won so I had a mixed feeling on that day.

"It's impossible, but because it's you we have a chance", these are the words Klopp said to the players before the match started, just incredible, they didn't show the fourth goal properly, it was a corner and Trent pretended to walk away, then quickly turned and kicked the ball catching all the Barce players out, that's why Origi had so much space and time.
@noteverton

Also, there were two balls on the pitch as Trent walked away, so Barca weren't ready for the corner. Trent was about to let Shaq take the corner when he saw the ball roll off the pitch and spotted Divock looking at him.

So what happened in that last goal was that the ref had blown his wistle allowing them to take the corner. Trent Alexander Arnold walked away as if he was going to switch with someone else to take it. Barcelona lost focus and walked away since they thought they had more time and Trent AA sprinted back and passed it before they could react. Even as a Manchester United fan (Rivals to liverpool) i still love that goal. They 100% had practiced that on the training ground and it worked in the best time possible. Also you should react to some defending video's like The Art of Defending for example.

The reason why origi (the goal scorer) was wide open is because Trent Alexander-Arnorld (number 66) walked away as if he was going to let someone else take the corner so everyone on Barcelona wanted to use that time to just make sure everyone is in the right place to defend. But then Trent noticed Origi wide open, and the rest is history….

When you remember that this was when away goals were tiebreakers you can imagine the stress of watching this game live. Barca scoring only once already meant they would have to score at least five, and they have only 90 minutes to do it in since they couldn't tie anymore(3-3). It was always horrible to lose on away goals(PSV vs AC Milan in 2005 is still a scar), but man did it make every second of a game a small heart attack. And yes, CL games have world cup atmosphere since a champions league final is basically the biggest game of the year, excluding world cup years.

At the point that this happened. Barcelona was one of the best teams in the world. At their home pitch they wrecked Liverpool 3-0. After that game no one thought that maybe the best team in the world (Barcelona), could lose. It was impossible. Do not forget that this is a champions league semi final. The biggest stage in the world. When your team is down 3 goals it should no be possible to comeback. Also the second and third Liverpool goal was in a span of 2 minutes. This made it extraordinary. The last Liverpool goal, was a fast corner trick. No one watched the ball except Liverpool’s striker and corner taker. Therefore he took the corner quickly and out played the whole Barcelona defense. ❤

Now you should watch the other side of this story; ''The Tragedy of FC Messi'' by Magical Messi. Liverpool's comeback was astounding, no doubt, but were helped tremendously by Barcelona themselves. From what you've heard, Barca were one of the best teams in recent history and played some of the best football ever seen. However in later years they suffered from corruption and a multitude of problems from within the club, which ultimately was the reason of Messi's departure after 20 yrs at the club. Barca are building themselves back slowly but surely now again though, but the video shows how much Messi carried an otherwise broken team, physically and especially mentally.

One of my favourite things about football is these kind of amazing comebacks happened all the time, at all levels. There have been some amazing comebacks in the lower leagues in England. A personal one, Aston Villa vs. Sheffield United in England 2nd tier, Sheffield United were 3-0 up. Then Villa scored in the 87th, 90th and 90+4 minutes to make it 3-3. And that point for the draw was important in securing a place in the promotion playoffs. Which they then won, and are still to this day a Premier League team. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f0oPwnSVJcY.html That one isn't all that big in the scheme of things, but it's memorable to me because I was there, behind the goal. The last goal is the infamous ‘Corner taken quickly, Origi!’. Basically it was a corner and the ball boys were instructed to get the ball to the players as quick as possible due to the fact that Barcelona had a habit of slowing down (moaning to the ref) after every decision. In that moment Trent Alexander Arnold got the ball ready and as he was doing it Shaqiri was walking towards him you could see that many Barca and Liverpool players weren’t paying attention. Origi on the other hand was watching Trent and when he realised Trent went for the quick corner he let instinct take over and kicked it perfectly into the top right corner. Amazing thinking and technique.

What I like/find slightly humorous about this as a reaction, given the magnitude of this comeback, the odds against it and the media circus that heckled Klopp beyond belief for not ruling us out of the ties between the games (with the injuries we had), is the reaction was so neutral throughout. At no point was there a forced engagement with the video (like most reaction channels) and I can't tell given just how big this game was if that's you character or just that maybe it wasn't fully described to you. In the week between the two games Klopp said (paraphrasing) "once the Anfield crowd get going, who knows" when asked if we are already out and the Barca players and coaches were talking a LOT of shit about us not being on their level. There's a documentary/docu-series with Barca that takes you into their changies at half time and you've got players fighting, a couple of them crying and generally looking defeated despite still having a 2-goal lead, that's how impactful our fans were on that game that night, they'd lost before the contest started. And it's a shame the footage you watched didn't have the famous "Corner taken quickly, ORIGIIIIIIII" line in there for our 4th. Suggestion for a future reaction: 2005 Champions League final. Liverpool 3-3 AC Milan. Arguably the greatest football comeback given all the extra factors. We barely made it out of the group to get into the knockouts, then we should have lost when Gudjonssen missed a late open goal before getting to the final. Then, the final itself had our team which was lucky to be there and had lost stars such as Ballon D'Or holder Michael Owen going into that season coming up against what was basically an All-Star style XI of the some of the world's best footballers at the time: Cafu, Stam, Nesta, Maldini, Pirlo, Seedorf, Gattuso, Kaka, Shevchenko, Crespo (that was trying to pick out the world class players but ended up with 10 of their starting XI). AC Milan were 3-0 up at half time, from people I know family/friends etc who were there, our fans kind of went one of two ways: some left on the spot, others knuckled down and showed appreciation that we had somehow got to the final. And as they say, the rest... is history. 🎶We've won it five times, We've won it five times, in Istanbul, WE WON IT FIVE TIMES🎶

It’s great to see you reacting to this and getting into football but in future I would suggest researching the clips you are reacting to because it would of added so much information that is crucial to the story. For instance we were missing our best two forwards and were playing against two of our previous best forwards and the quick thinking of Trent was absolutely geniuse.

Throughour the night Alexander arnold and someone else i cant remember kept alternating who took the corners. So when trent walked off the barca defence dropped their guard. Leading to thag last goal

Of all the points in this game, the highlight of the mosty important one was truncated at the start. You really needed to see the build up to the corner, and more importantly Trent's absolute guile.

It was unbelievable, the last goal was a bluff of some kind by Trent, he made barca team think he wasn't going to take the corner and as they all stopped paying attention he snapped back around and manoeuvred his foot to take it quickly, effectively and covertly to the point that it was only Trent (the corner taker) and Origi (the last goal scorer) who were even aware the ball was back in play. A game that was Ultimately aspirational and fair competition that really does represent the Liverpool spirit of freedom, hard work and teamwork. YNWA

I'm sorry but real madrid are kings of comebacks in ucl
@joewood791
@joewood791 Год назад
@@mmbmashup7048 I'd disagree. Madrid are clearly the unrivalled Kings of Champions League/European Cup football (even if you want to dispute their success around the earlier years with the likes of Puskas winning it where the competition didn't feature all of Europe). But I can only think of one comeback (vs Man City last year) because they're almost always the dominant side.

@joewood791 Год назад
@@mmbmashup7048 think you've misunderstood my point. I was saying I don't see Madrid as the "comeback kings" of the champions league because they're simply the best there has ever been even if you drop their first 5/6 out of the tally (which would be disingenuous regardless because they still had to turn up and win it. Therefore, calling them a "comeback" side is almost disrespectful to the success they have had. Compared to us, still one of the most successful sides in the competitions history, 3 of our 6 wins required a major comeback along the way (St Etienne to lift number 1, Istanbul for 5 and this one for the 6th). Its not minimising our success to say we've been dependent on many comebacks in the way it would be to Madrid.

The World Cup wishes it had this kind of atmosphere. I remember I had an important in office meeting that day and I missed most of the game. I was getting updates on my phone and trying to contain my excitement during the meeting. I tried to get the meeting wrapped up as quickly as possible. When I left work it was 1-0 and then as I was leaving the building it was 2-0. While driving home it was then 3-0 and I got in front of my TV just in time for watch the 4th. What an amazing match, what a brilliant come back.

lol the argentine and morrocco world cup games dwarf the atmosphere of anfield barring the goals anfield is pretty much a library and the same can be said for all premier league atmospheres english atmospheres are some the most quiet and sterile compared to mainland europe and south american teams
@swurvydel
@swurvydel Год назад
@@madaxwayne The World Cup atmosphere is stinks. The club level is where it's at. I said nothing of other leagues, simply comparing club level to international footy. And if you think Anfield is a library, you haven't been there on a European night. And when you look at South American clubs, you're basically noting the top clubs in those leagues. The middle to bottom of their leagues are quite bland as well.

This game is famous for a few reasons: - Barcelona were leading 3-0 in the first leg - Mo Salah and Firmino were unavailable to injuries then needed a fringe frontline to do it whereas Barcas' best of Messi, Suarez and Coutinho are there. - Our Best Left Back Robertson had to be subbed off halfway to injury precaution for Milner who was the oldie of the group back then that started life as a Midfielder then play out of position as a left back. - If any point Barcelona scored we needed 5 to win. - Who would have thought Trent's quick thinking was gonna prove this massive as he was just about to walk away from the corner to make way for Shaqiri then he caught Origi totally unmarked then just went back to take the legendary quick corner. No one, not even Origi was prepared for that!

Luke: The real excitement and tear inducing moment by the Anfield faithful (and I am a Newcastle supporter) is the stadium singing their epic anthem "You'll Never Walk Alone" at the end of the game, with the entire Liverpool squad (Players, Coaches, Support Staff, Trainers) linking arms, swaying to the sound and singing it right back. I watched this game live on tv and it is among my top 10 sports moments in life!

4:17 About the offside, if you pause the vídeo just when the point of view changes, that's the moment of the pass. If you are offside when the pass begins, you are offside, but in this case one defender is not in line with the rest and makes his possition legal, and he even makes it worse because he tries to go in position to late and leaves the stricker alone. You only need to be in legal position when your partner kicks the ball. A lot of teams play like this, whit fast strickers, very good passing midfielders and playing very defensive. Then they wait until they steal the ball to try and catch the rival unprepared to make the run to defend their goal.
