Yes KB! you're probably the only American reactor that has done any Derek and Clive. A rabbit hole well worth going down though it gets far stronger than this.

“Derek and Clive” was the filthiest and funniest comedy in the mid ‘70’s. I still have their L.P record, it’s absolutely hilarious.

I remember being in a betting shop when this suddenly came on the sound system. Everybody fell about laughing.

Definitely *don't* play this while driving. My mate popped the cassette in and this came on. We were laughing so hard we nearly rear-ended the car in front! 😄😄😄

Derek and Clive!! The most vulgar of vulgar entertainment. Brilliant. As a young child I grew up on Derek and Clive live, the most disgustingly hilarious long playing record ever produced? I have never seen this video before though. Why is there a naked man on the track at 5.20 seconds?

I grew up listening to my fathers hidden in the cupboard Derek and Clive LP's and some of their stuff is mind-bogglingly surreal, like 'worst job' or 'this bloke.' Basically, you take two of our best comedians from the late 60's (Peter Cook and Dudley Moore) pop them in the pub for a few hours marinating in alcohol, and then turn them loose in a recording studio and you get Derek and Clive

Absolute legends. No one does this stuff like the Brits. Glad you enjoy it. Peter Cook and Dudley Moore are legendary. It's filthy but genius at the same time. It takes intelligence to do it like that.

Derek and Clive, the alter images of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore. They recorded some albums in the 70s. Brilliant! Did played ‘Arthur’ in the film of the same name. Peter Cook was one of our greatest satirists. This is tame. Some of their stuff is incredibly offensive, but brilliant.

Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, aka Derek and Clive, got tanked up on alcohol and went into the studio and gave us Ad Nauseum. "The Whales", "Guinness Book of Records", "The Horn". 70s gratuitous filth. Marvelous.

Derek and Clive are actually comedy duo Peter Cook and Dudley Moore. This is so tame compared to some of their other stuff.

Peter Cooke & Dudley Moore (he of Arthur fame...you know the film with Bo Derek) they had a TV show back in the late 60's early 70's called Not Only But Also. They went on to become Derek & Clive and released a number of comedy albums (you know those round vinyl things that were all the rage back in the day) The albums were very popular because of the "strong" content and almost everyone had a favourite quote they would like to say, just to let you know they they'd listened to them. "Who you calling a cunt, cunt" was a very popular one. There wasn't really a script, I think they basically got pissed, switched the mike on and took it from there. Funny as fuck they were and you could be laughing like a drain for hours listening to them

Use to love it on TV when Peter Cook knew how to make Dudley Moore slowly lose the plot to make him trying so hard not to fall into fits of laughter. Think I still have the first two Derek and Clive LP's.

As a Brit a I’ve never heard of this but it was pure gold!!! Classic British comedy

If you want to listen to more Derek and Clive, all I can say is tread VERY carefully indeed! (The "My Mum" song, "Joan Crawford," "Hello Colin" and "This bloke came up to me" are a must.)

Yes they did record for vinyl a long time ago. As kids we loved a bit of Derek and Clive. My fave is def "the number 1 c**t kicker in" Check that out it's hilarious. Of course it's not real, it's our warped sense of humour again 😄

Used to listen to Derek & Clive in the 6th year school common-room around 1976/77. I was a mere 18…!!! Wed have to have lookouts in case teachers were on the prowl. They’d confiscate the LP if caught.

Derek and Clive were the alter egos of Dudley Moore and Peter Cook a comedy duo who first came to prominence in a stage show called 'Beyond the fringe' in 1959. Cook & Moore went on to form a comedy duo doing BBC TV shows and then stage shows in London and New York. It was while doing their stage show in New York that they booked a studio to do their first Derek & Clive album 'Derek & Clive live'. The material is more offensive than the early Pete & Dud stuff they did. Dudley later went on to Hollywood stardom with films like '10' and 'Arthur' and Cooks career somewhat stalled left behind in London.

Thanks all commenters/Boomerites/Muppetsfor reminding me of Derek & Clive being Cook & Dudley! I knew I'd heard of them from somewhere. I didn't even catch their voices, it's been many decades and I was a child! wow. fantastic!

As others have mentioned Derek and Clive are alter ego's of the comedians Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, which were born out of a relatively unscripted drunken/stoned recording they did one night which became infamous. The first recording they did was distributed "underground" during the 70's, even ending up in the hands of Led Zeppelin who would play it continuously while on tour. It was eventually released offiicially as the album "Derek and Clive: Live". They released a couple more albums 'Come Again' and 'Ad Nauseum'. I'd tread very carefully with their stuff though, because it was extremely rude, shocking and free from any form of censorship. This clip is massively tame in comparison. Peter Cook and Dudley Moore weren't necessarily bigoted or hateful in anyway, but they used their Derek and Clive ego's to portray two characters that were, for the benefit of putting out some extremely funny and shocking comedy. If you're interested in checking out more of their stuff for reaction, I'd recommend the sketches 'Mother', 'Jump you f*cker jump', 'In the lav' and 'sex manual' as relatively "un-canceable" sketches for reaction. They're all available on RU-vid.

There are actual rules preventing names like these for horses. Trainers try to get away with names, but it's quite heavily controlled. So to answer your question, Yes it is a parody..

This is the only scripted sketch they did in the Derek and Clive sessions. Winstons bogie and squatter and the end are a couple of my favourites.

Love me some Derek and Clive. Don't think I've heard this one. They were comedy records recorded by Peter Cook and Dudley Moore (the actor). A lot of them are drunken ramblings by Cook with Moore just throwing things in.
