In 15s Fiji produce the best backliners in world rugby (the fast players who’s main job is to get pass the defense quick. They’re basically like the receivers for rugby). The problem is most of these top tier players they produce get stole away by other countries. Even in this game. The Australian team literally had 6 Fijians playing for them out of the 15 men they had on the field 😂. There’s two modes of rugby. 7s and 15s. This one you just watched is 15s. Fiji are considered the great rugby team ever in the other mode which is 7s. They’re undefeated at the Olympics in that mode of rugby and have won 3 world cups.
Just to note the 2 tries scored by the 2 players for Australia are Fijian. We here in Fiji are very proud of them as well to the other Fijian players playing for Australia..🫡
Damn right, you should be proud!!! Fijians play Rugby they way it should be played; Strong skillful, entracing to watch with great heart, moral and spirit. You could say that Fijians are built for Rugby or that Rugby was made for Fijians. They are warriors to a man (what an amazing gene poll of physical specimens to pull from). Fiji has never had financial resources, time or facilities in the past to compete on a level playing field but now that has been redressed slightly and boy oh boy does it show. The World knows this and thus they are just about EVERY Rugby supporters second team to get behind in the World Cup. From a Welshman "good luck going forward Fiji, you deserve it"; we used our 'get out of jail free' card in our match against you.

I like how Dan Bigger riled up the Welsh players..Though some of the refs' decisions I would not agree with, I can't fault the Welsh for the way they play to come out winners. One of the best match I've seen in this RWC. I am hoping Wales make it easy on us and go win against Australia 😂😂😂 I want to root for Australia since they are our Pacific neighbor but finding it a little bit difficult...Go Wales 🏴

The movement that resulted in an Australian try at 3:41 was what is called a 'rolling (or driving) maul'. A maul usually occurs when a ball carrier is held by a tackler but stays upright and team mates 'bind' on to him. If they can start moving forward it becomes a rolling maul.

Would be a good one for you and Corey to watch I think, even if you know a fair bit about it already it’s still worth a watch as are his two cricket ones coincidentally
A penalty is taken from wherever the offence took place. There are a number of options which can be exercised, one is a kick to try to get it over the bar and between the posts which scores 3 points. The difficulty coming from where the kick is ie how far out and near to the touch line, is one of the deciding factors in whether to go for the attempt. Sadly the highlights of the game don’t tell the story of the game, and Wales beat Fiji, not the other way round.
Penalty kicks are taken from the place where the offence was committed. Conversion kicks, after a try, are taken from in line with where the ball was first touched down; you will often see try scorers run to get nearer to the posts to make the kick easier, if they can do so safely.
Another fun fact is that the position you kick from for the 'conversion' kick ( 2 points ) after a try, is determined by where you dotted the ball down. Ideally the best place for scoring the try is under/behind the posts as this will ensure the conversion is kicked from in front of the posts making it much easier. Whereas the closer the try is scored towards the sidelines, the more the position for the conversion is angled towards the sideline. So basically if you score a try in the back left corner, you will be kicking the conversion from next to the left touchline at a huge angle.
A penalty kick is done in line where the foul has been made, in the penalty area.. A conversion kick (comparable to a field goal, right after a try being scored) is done from 10 meters away from the try line and in line with where the try has been scored. Try on the wing= conversion kick from the wing. (more difficult than just in front obviously) That's why, when possible, the ball carrier entering the try zone won't necessarily dive but run behind the poles as much as possible before touching the ball down, making the conversion kick following after, easier. @3:34, this, sir, was a maul. it's literally a standing ruck. The ball carrier has been stop but not taken down, he's technically still allowed to keep the ball in his hands since he's not down. So the support is coming for help and keep up advancing by pushing him. Defense doping the same but the other way. English not being my first language, I hope to make sense.

Or with a conversion - in line with the actual touch down ( hence guys trying to steal a yard or two sometimes inside the scoring area ) Despite what you will be told by excessively specific folk, a penalty is quite like a field goal - you settle for it, rather than get nothing. Effective offence will usually provoke a penalty, and you can leverage it to attempt to score a try or you can decide not to push your luck and take your kick. Don't sweat thew terminology too much: NFL and Rugby are literally the same sport, that has just been evolving independently for a couple of generations. Every score, action and position has an exact equivalent in the other sport.
Yes all penalties are taken from where the infringement occurred. Likewise try conversions are taken from the position where the ball was grounded over the tryline. Usually the kicker will take that back from this position to a distance where he can have obtain a kickball angle( obviously would be impossible to kick from the tryline). Sometimes the team chooses other methods to take advantage of a penalty. Elect for a scrimmage. Elect to kick the ball for yardage and regain the throw into the line out...downfield. Tap and run the ball,hoping to get a try and conversion..( a bigger point margin).more often this is elected when close to they imagine to have superiority in this phase.
Fiji lost to Wales. But they're are the most exciting team to watch being a tier 2 nation. They've had to of the best games of the tournament so far. Keep an eye on them

It's the actual location of the play taking place within the field upon the referee's (or the involved match officials assisting to 'foil' the player(s) on the wrong) conviction to call for an infringement or foul play, is taken right at that point on the field: where the play resumes from that point ..as 'to be continued' from where the last play of the ball was paused; OR otherwise, if the video-ref (TMO) spots the field-referee's blind-infringement/foul occuring anywhere in the field of play, TMO will impose the rules of the game through the field-referee to call the play back to that place of infringement, or foul. And if it is ruled to be a professional foul then the offending player is yellow-carded (sinbin) or even red-carded (undisciplined behaviour of play perceived to be dangerous) to leave the field, and play resumes from where that foul was called at. If the kicker of the attacking team opts for a 3-pointer penalty-kick then the attempt will be taken from that point. I hope I made sense.
Unfortunately kicks are not highlights for me and this was not the best game to watch. Yes they place the kicks where the penalty takes place. Australia have won the World Cup twice before so are a very good team.
