Works both ways, people from the UK who have convictions for offences such as drug related crime are not allowed into the USA.

And because the UK uses a party system and doesn't directly elect a leader the Prime Minister can change without an general public vote. This actually happens often and parties will change their leader before calling an election if things are going bad and try and win back voters

I voted for Milliband, Corbyn & Long Bailey. I resigned myembership when Starmer was elected. Im still a Labour voter though.

You don't have to be leader of a party. An independent could become PM. Once the election is over, the elected MP who can create the biggest majority will be invited to be PM. This is how coalitions come about when no one single party has a majority. You can also become PM when the PM in office resigns and you end up with unelected PMs (e.g., Truss, Sunak, Major).

Our current leader (Sunak) IMO is absolute trash, he has upset everyone to my knowledge, my dad always used to say that nobody should vote Labour but even Sunak has done something Labour has not done by putting the country in debt while putting the poor in debt as well, Tories usually care about the country & not the individual where as Labour care about the individual more than the country but we've had 5 Prime Ministers with the Tory government in such a small space of time compared to the Labour party who only had 2 when they were in power (namely Tony Blair & Gordon Brown)

But we might soon have Starmer for PM who either lied about not knowing about Saville or for the only time in British history was so distrusted by his civil servants they chose not to cover their backs by pushing the details of problems up to senior management.
