The fact that German is spoken on Mallorca was a joke, because there are a lot of German vacationers there. Pronouncing V as F is o l true for Germanic words, in Romance words like Vase, Vulkan, Volant, etc. it is pronounced the same as in French and English.

Bavarian is always seen as a dialect although some or maybe many Bavarians - me included - view it as an own language. This is not only because of pronounciation or words you won´t find in German but also because of grammatical differences and specialities like the double negotiation or the turnaround of dative case and accusative case. And within this "language" there are so many dialects at least. It is said that people from two villages just being some miles apart don´t understand each other 😉

CH is soft after A, O and U and soft after Ä, E, I, Ö and Ü. And so you have another difference between umlauts and the standard counterparts: Bach = hard, Bächlein = soft Koch = hard, Köchin = soft Buch = hard, Bücher = soft

The German letters are: A - Z, Ä, Ö, Ü, ß The long s: ſ was abolished by Hitler, but the ß was left in place.

No, don't say "ik"! Stick to "ich". The "ik" thing was just a joke by the guy from the video. Remember, the "ch" in "ich" sounds like the Spanish "x" in "Mexico".

Hey, P.J.! The thing with Mallorca is a joke, but not a full joke! Because there are soooooo many german tourists and nowadays also many immigrants from Germany there! Since the 1960`ies germans went on holidays in Mallorca, so......... A funny thing has been the opinion of a minority of Mallorca`s capital citizens (Palma de Mallorca, or "Palma") 20 - 30 years ago that they would accept a "german mayor! I don`t know what they think in actual times. Minute 10:35 to 10:45: Oh my god! I "cried a river" by lauging!!!! ("They swith into Biden-Language")!!! 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂 You: You can smooth it a little bit! YES, you got it! (Germans are no arabs)!

Darauf basiert doch weitgehend die Satire. Er greift ja die Stereotypen auf und macht sich darüber lustig. Allerdings gibt es wohl Leute, die das nicht merken und es für bare Münze nehmen.
