Open All Hours is one of those shows that is so well written, that I can go back and re-watch episodes over and over again.

My favourite episode. Still as funny as the first time I saw it 45 years ago.

the actress playing Mrs Blewitt, Kathy Staff played a similar but way more fleshed out character Nora Batty in Last of the Summer Wine which ran for IIRC 32 years with many Christmas Specials

Anyone wanting to rob the shop is more likely to break in through an open window or just shoplift, rather than smash through the glass and alert everyone around.

I'm not sure if I've seen these since they were first shown, I think they repeated some after Ronnie B passed away and possibly before the new ones with Sir David Jason in charge. Back when they first came out only three channels and no remote control back then, and I think Betamax were just about around when they swapped from BBC 2 onto BBC 1
