David Jason was a very good voice actor. He featured in a number of cartoons from the 80's including Danger Mouse, Count Duckula and a version of Wind In The Willows. So, it's not surprising that he can turn a few voices of Granville imaginings. Ronnie Barker, of course, is the consummate comedy actor who plays the part of Arkwright to perfection. A great episode maintaining the quality we've come to expect. We finally meet Mrs. Featherstone! The next episode is one of my all time favourites.

The man at the beginning played Neville in an earlier episode who tried to sell Arkwright a new washing machine. What made open All Hours popular is that the characters are people you can relate to.

Haha the first appearance of the Widow Mrs Featherstone. Lucky Granville getting Ping Ponged between two ladies bosoms. Sir DJ is such a great voice actor, I could listen to him read the phone book. Mavis is a great character.

The irony - the quaint shop woman played Renee Roberts, who ran the equivalent shop in Coronation Street in the 70s.

a lot of things can't be made today. in this show, this was funny because even Granville jokes on him in certain scenes and they seem to have a good time. but i could be wrong.

@@bxkid7 yep I agree, as long as the comedy isn't hateful it's ok Reason I posted, watched another channel react to Father Ted's Three Degrees sketch. I know you haven't seen it bub so won't spoil it. Most wolf packers will know it. Anyhow he was appalled, was pro cancel, him and his mob will be after Arkwright next 😐 #saveArkwright

most of the comedy in this type of show would be frowned upon today. Which sucks, everyone offended. Like Granville going back and forth to the ladies bosoms.

YEs, this was the episode I had been longing to see, if only for the end. I once said that the running joke of Granville getting a great view would have him take advantage of it and this was it :D Love it, love it, love it as always

That was another great episode, I always take a shopping list too lol, I need the discipline when I'm shopping. Loving your reaction to these, it is easy comforting viewing I think, with the laughs as well of course, it just flies by. 💛

Albert Arkwright is the ULTIMATE SALESMAN, even Del Boy would struggle to sell Hurricane Lamps! I am sure that was Josephine Tewson that he sold the Lamps to? ( She was in Clarence with Ronnie B and was it Futtocks End and Hark At Barker with Ronnie B and David jason?)

@@chrisduncan5842 ah thats where ive seen her face before! she was in Nearest & Dearest and also Coronation Street as Renee ( Alf's first wife) and was the governors Secretary in Porridge, the one that was playing hide the truncheon with Mr Baraclough!

I love watching these episodes olong with you. Great work. After this you could do a lot worse than watch either 'The Good Life' or 'Dads Army', both are knockout comedies.

Once you've done this react to still open all hours if you can find it. It's merely a tribute to this show but Granville is still in it owning the shop and some of the characters in this one are still in it just a lot older. Just don't have the same expectations as the original. Like I said it's a tribute.

I'm sure I read somewhere that in real life Granville was actually older than Mrs Featherstone, the black widow. Maybe its true.

Granville should know by now nothing Arkwright gives him is ever for free, yet he falls for it each time! Oh and if I don't make a shopping list I can go into a store and know I need 5 things and will come out with 5 things...just not the 5 I needed!! Arkwright would love that wouldn't he.

@@justincredible9187 yes, I myself have a stutter, not as bad as when I was a kid and I find it funny, and Barkers portrayal of it is accurate as its certain words I struggle with at times. ( usually ones with the letter P and S in my case.)
