@jonisilk
@jonisilk Месяц назад
He was a cracking player and is a great person too, eminently likeable, but yeah, injuries can destroy anyone's career. Michael Owen is another example - Won a Balon D'Or early in his career, but by 25 he was on the decline instead of peaking. Hamstring injuries started at Liverpool, Then he went to Madrid and suffered a bout of "Spanish Splinter" (meaning he was stuck on the bench), Then signed for Newcastle and didn't get to play for them for 18 months, because he blew his knee out at the World Cup. Eventually went to United and won a Prem title, but he was a bit-part player by that point. Unlike Kaka though, Michael Owen has all the personalty of a potted plant, and his football "insights" are, um, well.... here's an example: "That's the trouble with this United side, when they don't score, they hardly ever win" - Michael Owen

In my opinion Kaka was probably the last great player, that was considered great, before Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi redefined what being great in the sport is.

Goal contributions is usually a good decider for forwards but Kaka was a midfielder scoring as many goals as most strikers, only Lampard comes close to a midfielder scoring goals like him in recent memory. Even during this man's divorce his wife claimed the reason for the breakup was Kaka being too good 😆
@MohammadAli-uf3cg
@MohammadAli-uf3cg Месяц назад
He was not a midifielder. He was a second striker or 10. Big difference
@mayaorozco6374
@mayaorozco6374 Месяц назад
@@MohammadAli-uf3cg Yeah he was a midfielder, when Sheva left he played slightly higher but a second striker is just a ultra offensive midfielder. In Sao Paulo, Real Madrid and Orlando he played as a pure midfielder, for three years in Milan he played a role that could be considered a forward but not in definition. Would be like calling Messi not a winger because he played under 10% of his games as a false nine.
@MohammadAli-uf3cg
@MohammadAli-uf3cg Месяц назад
@@mayaorozco6374 Messi was a 10. And he mostly played as a 10. You couldnt call him a winger bcs his duties were different. He was a winger in his first 2 seasons. But wingers are tactically restricted to the wings. Messi wasnt restricted since 07/08 at least. Even in his false 9 role he was a 10 as well. If you look at his playmaking from deep. Kaka was mainly a transition and final third player. He wasnt involved in the build up often. Which isnt a critique just goes to show that he was NOT a midfielder. Similar to KDB today. You can call them offensive "midfielders" but they dont do midfielder duties. I wouldnt compare them with real offensive midfielders like Zidane, Iniesta and Modric. They play further forward and are way less involved in the second phase.
@mayaorozco6374
@mayaorozco6374 Месяц назад
@@MohammadAli-uf3cg You can't call Messi a wing? Are you for real? He played there in almost every game of his career so of course you can. KDB is not a midfielder or involved in build up play now, learning something new everyday 😆 You can say he didn't normally play as deep as Modric and Zidane but of course he was a midfielder and so was Iniesta even though he is the one of the four midfielders you have brought up that played the most out of position (Occasionally left wing during Spain and Barca's dominance) so i find it funny you grouped him with Modric and Zidane and not KDB or Kaka.
@MohammadAli-uf3cg
@MohammadAli-uf3cg Месяц назад
@@mayaorozco6374 On paper Messi played on the wing. Compare heatmaps of real wingers like Nico, Doku or Saka with Messi. The are limited to their side and only drive in the middle to shoot. Messis habitat was never the wing he was always in the half spaces. And thats precisely where he was most effective. But to call Messi a winger is tactically wrong because he played the role of a 10, while inverting from the rigth wing. KDB is involved in the buildup now?` KDB literally had a higher average position on the pitch for many games than Haaland in 22/23. Was Haaland involved in the buildup??? Iniesta dropped a lot deeper than KDB and he never and I mean NEVER was farther forward than Messi, Neymar or Villa/Suarez. Iniesta played a similar role to KDB in 2 seasons. But the majority of his career he played as part of a 3 man midfield with a single pivot and one controller. The same dynamic Madrid played as well. Kroos = controller, Casemiro = single pivot, Modric = offensive 8. Zidane is a special case bcs he had a lot more games as a 10 than Iniesta or Modric. He could be grouped with KDB but I wouldnt as he was more influential in the 2nd phase as well

Kaká has already given an interview saying that he was never one of the best in São Paulo's youth team, and that he was only integrated into the professionals to play because the promising players at the time were on tour outside the country with São Paulo's U20 team. As a result, during his appearance at São Paulo, he came off the bench and scored two goals against rival Santos. After that he caught the attention of the coach of the professional team at the time and remained training with them, and the rest is history.

I was born in Milan, support and watch Milan. Kaka and that AC Milan were the very last team of "unbeateable" before barcelona tiki taka was created. That milan was on par with messi barca, and 1990 ac milan of the 3 dutches. Kaka was a beast. Speed, dribbling, reflexes, power and shooting were all top notch. Humble and pristine outside the field. And yet the very BEST Kaká doesnt even come close to the WORST messi. It s literally not even close and i say it as an ac milan all time supporter. That is just how far, far away Messi was and to an extent still his. We talking about someone who se on top since 20 years. While most of the stars like kaka have 2, 3 too notch seasons. Messi is an alien

Kaka is probably my favourite player ever despite not having any connection with any team that I'm a fan of. He had such a strong understanding of the game, and a very unique skillset. Having him on the field meant having a guy that could be the engine of your offense but also had the goal contribution of a striker. He had the technique and the flair and ability to breakdown a low block that you'd normally associate with brazilians while also being the deadliest transition player in the world, his progression was incredible.

To answer your question : goal contribution numbers are relevant to evaluate a player's performance, if their role in the team is to assist or score goals ;) In that regard and to reference a recent competition, you can consider Mbappé had a poor Euro. On the other hand, Rodri might not have high goal contribution numbers but was instrumental for Spain.

Also going back to the point of goal contribution i think that was normal back and the day and now we are also getting again where player is considered a superstar if he scores 1 per 80-90 min , the problem many players like Kaka Robben ribery Ibrahimovic and many more did this but it was an era were messi and Ronaldo made it look normal to have 70 goal contributions per season
@dovah2167
@dovah2167 Месяц назад
the goal contributions are cool because if the player have them, it cannot really be "denied" but it doesn't means everything, it does not really apply to every position, it doens't take in account key passes, sometimes you can recognise a player is great because of how he creates opportunities by going running/passing/dribbling when and where to unlock defenses, even if it's not assists

Forza Milan.

I always loved Kaka by heart..one of the most gifted midfielders.. due to his talent to read a game and letting his team-mates shine due to his clever passing instead of putting himself into the spotlight although having the tremendous ball skills himself to do so = "a role model+enbodiment of a team player" Don´t compare Messi + CR7 with Kaka those 2 aren´t midfielders....I hate in general when people do compare players don´t playing the same position/having a totally different role on the pitch. That simply boggles my mind...because that is basically actually just "fanboy bullsXXXt" and nothing else
