How do you keep the black stuff from coming out of the Jets between bathing?

Um, you clean the tub well & properly. That black stuff coming out of the jets is body gunk that has developed into a sort of mold that can actually make you sick. Not just your body gunk but everyone else who uses the tub, too. Lowsuddsing dish detergent is the recommended cleaner for these walkin bathtubs but honestly, you're going to have to get a bit more creative than that. Bleach! A little bleach goes a long way and I use it every time I clean. In 2020, following my dad's double heart valve replacement surgery, I left work to move in with and be his full time caregiver. He has hone hemodialysis 5x per week. His access fistula absolutely must remain as close to sterile as possible for numerous reasons, and bathtub gunk could present a real risk were I not to care for the tub as I do and must. Pick up a pack of cheap microfiber rags. Fill your tub with hot water and cascade or finish - whatever you use in your dishwasher, they both work great - turn on your jets and let them rin the full 20 minutes. Drain your tub. I like to use a non-abrasive sponge (note: NON-ABRASIVE, not an SOS pad or 3M scouring pad) while the tub drains to lightly go over all surfaces. At this point, you're looking a lot better. But not quite done. Now, take your bottle of cascade dish liquid and give a good healthy squirt around the tub. Take your NON-ABRASIVE sponge and gently scrub all surfaces once again. I use the soft side of the sponge on the chrome. All of the chrome. Once you've given everything a good scrub with cascade, use your handheld shower head, put it on your favorite or most efficient rinse setting, and rinse all the cascade down to the drain. Once all of the cascade has been rinsed out, turn on your whirlpool air blower for one minute and let it blow all the cascade out of the airholes (not the jets, the airholes for the whirlpool). Now, rinse all this down. At this point, you have a bathtub that looks like it's been to the dentist to be bleached. But we're not quite done. You have 2 options at this point. Depending on the status of your clean job, you can 1) refill with hot water and bleach and let the jets run for another 20 minute pass or 2)fill your tub with ONLY water (whatever temperature) and run the jets for 20 minutes. Either way, you will always do #2 but not necessarily always #1. After completing step #2, rinse & drain, now take two of your microfiber towels stacked together and wipe down all surfaces inside the tub. Turn on the whirlpool again so that all the water will blow out of the lines and dry that up. You should now be at about 95-99% on the job. Depending on how long water, soap, body gunk and other chemicals have been allowed to sit in your water lines will determine how much and for how long black crap will be coming out of your lines. I hope by now you've resolved it. Don't forget to use your bleach microfiber to wipe the seals and in all crevices carefully because more gunk develops there than you can imagine. For the record, it is just my dad and I and I do this between each of us and each bath. I can minimize frequency and depth of cleaning by showering and not bathing/using the jets. I should mention that at the beginning, I like to wet a few of my microfibers in the bleach water to use on all the surfaces around the tub as the controls, the front, side and backsplash, the door and door handle, etc. I hope this helps.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TUB....THIS COMPANY RUINED MY PARENTS BATHROOM....THEY PREY UPON SENIORS...MY PARENTS HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE THEIR BATHROOM SINCE THE DAY IT WAS INSTALLED THREE YEARS AGO!!! they keep promising they will fix it,,but the two technicians they sent say it is un fixable....it flooded the downstairs below.... I had NO idea they were going through all this trouble until just recently,,,how completely shameful that they preyed upon the fact that they knew that my elderly parents had no access to social media and disregarded the letters that they had written to the company. We will be taking legal action ,,,,it is incredible how they could charge $13,000.00 for the worst piece of garbage that was installed ...and even more astonishing how they can sleep at night knowing they are pushing this horrific nightmare of a product onto poor seniors!
