I remember getting teased for bringing delicious egg fried rice at school my mom made me, while kids brought some plain ass sandwiches with peanut butter/chocolate paste/jam….

Working as a teacher in Korea the kunch is DEFINETLY 10/10 and I'm vegetarian but they change the traditional meals to be meatless for me like they make it separately. They are so lovely here 😭

American Schools: Our lunch is healthy because we replaced white bread with whole grain bread.

I think north european schools have quite good lunch too. Like in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark etc. Some fishballs, sauce for the fish, mashed potatoes, salad, fruits and dessert for example. And you could also add rye bread or hard rye crispbread with that.

I'm a French and I went to a middle school where the food was literally so great, we had so much vegetables and the food quality was very good with homemade desserts that tasted amazing !! But then I went to high school and the contrast was crazy, food here is basically terrible ! It is probably not to the point of the American lunches but it's honestly close... we just eat the same meals everyday, which consist of either tasteless ( probably microwaved ) rice or pasta with uncooked chicken or breaded fish ! As for the desserts, it's either yogurt or packaged cakes...

As an Indonesian, school lunches would consist of a bucket of rice which we could get depending on our portion sizes. Then there would be trays of many side dishes we can get such as eggs, meat, tofu, tempeh, vegetables, soup, stews, and much more. Sometimes we would get fried noodles instead of rice.

I worked in the local school here in America, and those "American" lunches in the video are way better than what our kids got!

As a Korean American immigrant, I 100% relate to this lol. I avoided American school lunches despite going to a well funded school district. I definitely miss Korean school lunches that the teachers actually EAT.

And thins considered a GOOD school lunch from America. Sadly at most schools the food isn’t cooked most of the time. And it is almost always watery

I love how the American kids are just so ready to roast their own countries lunch food. Like they already know there is no point in trying to defend it lol. They just want the Korean lunch. Literally they were happy to have SPINACH on their plate for once.

This reminded me of my cousin who always has a bento box prepared by his mom when he moved to the US. He hated the school lunch so he asked his mom to prepare one for him.

For the record, that school lunch for America was NICE in comparison to what I've seen in some schools. In my middle school, you got the entre (frozen or burnt), a milk carton (expired), and a bagged fruit or veggie (moldy). 2 fruits? Juice? Never seen it.

As a aussie, my lunch is normally: Random shart in my lunchbox then I bring from home.

FYI- American lunches aren’t getting better. They are adult calorie meals with high amounts of sodium. My kids’ school has to provide nutritional facts and I’m just blown away.

As a high schooler, that is not what they serve at schools. That’s luxury compared to what they give us. For pizza it’s a thin piece of bread shaped into a rectangle. I wish they gave us that.

I live in California and a member of a Korean church. We host Bible School for the kids and a lot of them try Korean food for the first time. They're not afraid to admit that it's better than most of the food they eat at school.

So..I'm an American. And when I was in school, there came a point in middle school when they took out all of the soda machines and only had water in the vending machines and all the snack machines were no longer super unhealthy. They only had the baked chips and granola bars and things like that. It was said they did this because of childhood obesity. Basically we were all too fat and they were going to make sure we had healthy snacks. The funny part was.....our lunches still looked like this XD

I am a woman in my 40s. I grew up in the 80s and 90s. Back then racism and bullying of anything Asians was common. Yes, I got bullied about my lunch. But as I got older, I am so glad had my asian lunches. Simply put, I ate food. I ate real food. Real food is expensive. It is natural, grown by mother earth. I ate food, because my parents loved me and cared enough to provide me with good quality of food. Because we are a family. My western colleagues ate food like products. They ate their so called "superior" foods and drink e.g chips from a bag, white bread sandwiches, cake, candy, soda etc. These type of food is devolved of love. These are not food. They are cheap imitations food. Food like products are destructive to your body, poisoning your body and ageing your body the longer you eat it. This the education my asian family taught me. They taught me the importance of getting healthy, the importance of gut health and how it affects your ageing process. I am so thankful I got that this valuable education, as I've been practising eating a balance meal and also doing intermittent fasting for 30years. I am now 41 and I still look like in my 20s and I am never sick. In Chinese culture, their is a saying, food is medicine. This concept was foreign to western people, back then. Back then, in western culture, food like products were considered superior, whilst real food was inferior. This is a backwards logic. I am glad I was taught the Asian logic. Whilst my western counterparts look like they are in their 50s and 60s. Fastward today, western people are now following how asians are eating, it is amazing how things change so quickly. Now everyone wants Asian food. Goes to show who is right. So I feel sorry for my white colleagues back then, when they are deprived of eating food, whilst I ate food. I am so proud I ate my asian lunches back then. Love is an action, not words. Thank you mum for your love.

Something that should be mentioned is that most of the Korean lunch food is actually really simple to make, especially in big batches. The difference is that Korean food is seasoned properly.

I study and live in Japan since I was elementary and whenever we have an English class, an American teacher would come and teach us and sometimes even eat lunch with us. She would always rant about how American school lunches are not healthy compared to Japanese lunches lmao-

Indian students lunch box : biryani , roti sabzi , chicken roll , maggi noodles, wai wai , only blue lays , fruity or Mazza , chocolate, fired rice and best friends tiffin.

They’re all so open minded and respectful, especially the guy
