@@anakyoli6725 Bonyok itu memang artinya memar atau babak belur menurut KBBI. Tpi maksud Bonyok di sini itu singkatan dari *Bokap (Father) Nyokap (Mother)* bagi orang Betawi (if I'm not mistaken). That's why they called it's a slang word for a millennial people 👍

Kalau di Indonesia terdapat banyak bentuk2 kata2 gaul yg dipakai khusus di berbagai daerah di Indonesia. Kata2 gaul di atas sebenarnya berasal dari daerah Jakarta dan sekitarnya yg kemudian populer dan dipakai didunia maya.

I’m half Indonesian, grew up in Indonesia. I live in the United States for 23 years. I hardly speak Indonesian here. But I can speak in both American and Indonesian accent. You can do it. Don’t lose your Indonesian accent.

The birthday song "Panjang Umurnya" adopted from the Dutch birthday song "lang zal ze leven" means Long shall she/he live.. sometimes your oma or opa (Grandparents) would stick with the dutch version haha

You should make video with other indonesian which understand and can explain what is really that word formed. You can breakdown the word. for example like BETE. Bete made from B and T letter. B for Bosen (Bored) and T for Tau (You Know) which means Just Bored. Btw, Very entertaining bro... Interesting content.

I think the "Thanks Giving" situation you gave is more suitable to the word "Rempong" rather than the math test... Because we have another slang word to that expression, which is "Ambis." That's from the word ambitious, and Millenials shorten that word to "Ambis". Example: "Wth, man. Why are you so Ambis, the test is next month." Anyway, I love your videos, guys! i think gabut can also be used to refer bad or negative mood that affects our day, the negative mood make people wants to do nothing and being so lazy. Kind of "it's rain outside and i don’t know what to do..." "gue gabut banget nih, di luar hujan"

hey arnold, i wanna tell you something that “Bonyok” was a slang but they were a combinations slangs from “Bokap” and “Nyokap” which means BOKAP = Father NYOKAP = Mother for some reasons they said Bonyok from short of them i really adore both of you soooomuch!!! Salam dari indonesia❤️💯🔥

bete doesn't really mean 'not in the mood", it just simply means you're in a bad mood. you're bete; you're in a really bad mood towards something/someone.

I like how your wife says something Indonesian, but like using Filipino accent, sounds more native than you 😅. Maybe you can try another way with those slangs. Like you said, most of Indonesian (Jakarta) slangs are two words combined, but sometimes the meaning of that slangs are not really close to the origin words (like "gabut", we use it to explain not only if we still getting paid without doing anything at work, but we use it to expalin that we got nothing to do, like "gue gabut nih di rumah, jemput gue, dong." So, maybe you can literally translate the origin words of fhe slang, and ask her to use it in a sentence, just like what you've done in this video. Cheers.

Gabut is actually from "Gaji Buta"...."Gaji" means *salary* and "Buta" means *blind* ...so it literally means "blind salary" it's used for people who didn't do what they're supposes to do but they still got paid Ex : someone saw his coworker didn't do anything or just playing with his phone the whole time so he said : "hey! Jangan makan gaji buta! (or Jangan Gabut!) Ayo sini bantuin gue!" (Hey! Don't eat blind salary! Come here and help me!) but now people just use it for "doing nothing" Ex : lagi *gabut* banget nih seharian, kemana yuk! (I do literally nothing the whole day, let's just go somewhere!)
