Peter Gabriel was the lead singer with Genesis before he went on to have a solo career and had a hit called Sledgehammer. Basingstoke Station is 2 stops down the line from where I live and he remembers it far better than I do.

If you search James Acaster The cabbage chronicles you will find a video of the full cabbage story - from the radio show he talks about in this clip. The story evolves over time when James makes multiple appearances on the radio show to provide updates on the ongoing cabbage feud. It’s an hour long but it’s hilarious and worth a listen. James was also a contestant on Taskmaster a few years ago and there is a compilation of his “best moments” that you might enjoy reacting to. He’s just so wonderfully weird 😊

We have reindeer in Britain (specifically in the Cairngorm mountains, Scotland). It's a free-roaming herd of about 150; plus 'tame' animals who (during November / December), go on UK wide tours to promote the herd and do Christmas appearances etc. The owners also have a shop and you can go on guided walks to learn all about reindeer.

You mentioned cheese rolling ... I would like to see you & queen Boomer think about the burning barrel festival - in a village called Ottery St Mary every bonfire night (5th November) - look it up, there are a bunch of videos on youtube about it It was good to hear you talk about depression - it's something that lots of us will suffer with at some point in our lives, and it's good to remind people that it's nothing to be ashamed of, and it is also something you can recover from, given time & the right help and support from friends and family I went through years of depression after my marriage failed, but eventually managed to find a new life & started being able to smile & look forward to life once again - thanks to great bunch of friends that I met I'm glad you beat it, and can talk about it now - not enough men talk about these things - nice one for sharing that 👏

I *clearly* remember laying against the fence, seeing all the older kids screaming, and thinking "I know what I'll do 🤭🤭I'll pretend to be DEAD!😂". I'd rather people make light of the situation than tread lightly because pussy footing around can make it worse.. The volunteer firemen do go to fires with the regulars and wear protective gear too but they only help with the set up and the kit , they're not allowed to put out the fires for insurance reasons. They don't run into burning buildings or anything dangerous, they can get training and qualifications, but small towns usually only have a few full time firemen because of financial reasons.
