jack merritt was a rehabilitation worker for those in prison but was murdered in a london bridge attack in 2019. he worked closely with dave's family as dave's brother is currently serving time for a murder and i'm pretty sure dave invited jack's parents to the brits to watch/hear this tribute

You're correct. He gave Jacks parents and friends tickets. Jack had only been to a few of Dave's shows and they didn't know each other on much of a personal level but Dave still wanted to tribute Jack. Dave is out of this world for his lyrics engraved with such emotion

You should react to or in your own time listen to his full Psychodrama album from beginning to end. Won album of the year. Each track basically links to the other as if he’s at a therapy session talking to his therapist. I remember watching this live in England when he played it and I remember people going mad on socials about him saying this about the PM etc.. but he was bang on. The whole song is spot on and the added part about our PM at the time was too, opened mine and a lot of other eyes. The loud ones having a go were the minority. Man on the right knows whats up. Dave is easily one of the greats already, and he's relatively young on the scene. He hits different too. 99% of his songs have a message. And if you listen to the album, they're bangers, but if you actually hear the songs, they're deep as fuck. They get you thinking, and I can only assume its the same , if not more so, for a black person to relate, but I, a white guy, relate to alot of what he's saying. I may not have been on the end of any racism, but I see it (I call it out and do something if I can) but still. Dave is a legend. And I put my life on the fact he's gonna go down in history as one of the best.
