I used to work in a comedy club in South London, he was on the Circuit before he was famous, I've seen him at least 100 times , I've actually paid to see him since about 5 times as he's just brilliant. I've seen him utterly destroy audience members who dare heckle him. No subject is off limits.

That's one of the things I like best about Jimmy (also Frankie Boyle). When he made that catholic joke, and the dude in the audience yelled at him, Jimmy took that as an invitation to go for blood. If you decide to interrupt someone who is offensive for a living, you'd better be ready for the consequences.

I think what makes him so impactful is that he looks and sounds like an upper middle class English gentleman but the stuff that comes out of his mouth… It’s the shock value

Jimmy is a comedy genius, he also hosts a few TV shows, 8 out of 10 cats and 8 out of 10 cats does countdown, the big fat quiz of the year, also one of the best shows which is no longer running was called Distraction. Should check out Bill Bailey, he's not offensive like Jimmy but he is one very talented man both musically and comedically

I would recommend Jim Davidson Sinderella for old slapstick UK comedy, there is the full version on RU-vid. It’s an adult version of Cinderella worth a watch!
I always state this to anyone new to Jimmy C, look up an interview he did recently, skip to any random part (it's a certain 1h long interview, not going to name drop) and watch a few minutes to see the real him, TOTALLY different guy! And yep he's a gameshow host (and just as good at that too!) we are all linking you to 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, once you start that, you'll be addicted! Great stuff!

As other people have said Jimmy is a game show host but also a savage, quick witted and intelligent comedian. It’s kind of the opposite to Al Murray (both highly educated) Al tones down the education for a “man of the people” persona, where as Jimmy plays up to a posh but wicked one, especially in his early days. The only other comedians I’ve seen live (not saying others aren’t as good) that can handle crowd interaction so expertly is Dara O’briain and Frankie Boyle. For me that is the mark of a true comedian being able to roll with the audience, whether by dealing with them brutally or encompassing them into your act. Last side note Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle used to write for one another which you can tell by their styles and this is definitely tame for both. Anyway hope you enjoyed it and keep sinking down that UK comedy rabbit hole King *Muppet* Boomer!
Yep - definitely get your missus to watch it with you. It will be interesting to see her reaction...and yours too. Quick story - I took my ex wife to see Chubby Brown back in the late 80's and he was "disgusting" at that time....I was really embarrassed to laugh with my wife with me.....now, I love his humour and laugh at him as loud as any other comedian.
