Most of the people in Poland buy the "Bizon Grass" vodka not to drink "just as it is" but mixed with apple juice and spices like cinnamon. The one, you had before probably tasted before, was already flavored, this one is a DIY thing. ;)

Yes, it was a mistake to not take candy krówka. It's much better and totally different. Also, wódka you have tried in the restaurant was probably very cold, and this is why you didn't taste alcohol that much. Żubrówka is still a very decent wódka, so It should taste good :)

"Krówka" candy is toffee but with milk. The most interesting thing about them is that when they are fresh, they are sticky and when they "matured" a little, they are crunchy. When it comes to beer, the most interesting ones are Grodziskie, which is unique in the world (if you like the taste of smoke), and various Baltic porters, especially Imperium Prunum, which a few years ago was considered the best in the world.

Polish flavors are strange because we have been accustomed to them since childhood. I really like the "sękacz" and "marzipan" bars and all the chocolate pralines from Wedel and Wawel. Żubrówka, the Bison Grass vodka is usually served as a drink in a 1:2 ratio with apple juice. At a party, it is best to mix 0.5 liters of Żubrówka and 1 liter of apple juice into a jug. You can season it with cinnamon or lime. You can also add fresh mint leaves.

The "prince polo" is the one and only, always the same (they introduced a different one for a while some time ago but I don't see it anywhere now) The "grześki" has two flavors. The original and hazelnut. The "princessa" used to be coconut flavor with white chocolate. They added a lot of varieties some time ago. The "zebra" version is suppose to be a healthier one, less calories, without chocolate. Nestle bought a Polish company called "Goplana" original creator of "princessa".

Kabanosy you had were 2 different types of meat, thin ones were turkey, the thicker ones were pork. Definitely should have went with Krówka candy version. As for żubrówka, or any vodka really, gotta drink it chilled (not with ice inside, just put it in the fridge for few hours). And you should definitely try Ptasie Mleczko and go for more local beer brands.

As for the wafer battle, for me it's Grzeski no 1, Prince Polo no 2, Princessa no 3. However I liked Prince Polo more years ago when I was little, it seemed less sweet. I just don't know if it actually tastes different or is it just me 🙂. There is also Teatralny which is more peanutty and Marco Polo which tastes to me more like Prince Polo from years ago. Enjoy!

If you like caramel and want some alcohol mixed in, I highly suggest getting a bottle of Chopin Salted Caramel vodka. It resembles Irish Cream or Bailey's in consistency and is only 18% ABV, but by sweet sunny jesus, it is delicious. Drink as is or use it as a coffee creamer or pour it over ice cream. If you try Ptasie Mleczko, I suggest caramel or mango, especially chilled in the fridge.

I recommend You try "pączki" (plural and it means donuts, singular is pączek) from a small bakery, those are better than in a big shop. The most "original" is "pączek z różą"- donut with rose (jam). But there are a lot of different flavors- toffee, salt caramel, chocolate, advocate, and so on, and so forth.

@@JacobandJennyTravel there is a chain of bakery's, Ithink Stara Pączkarnia was the name, when you can see whole process of making and baking of those Polish donuts, and you can buy them hot and steamy. I wonder if you got yours from them. They have an amazing choice of taste. Rose (wild rose) filling is the most traditional in Poland. One of interesting is one with advocate flavor, same as alcohol it was named after. Glazed, powdered, with sprinkles. So many combinations to choose.

You must running for like a one year to burn all that callories which you intaked (or at least walk by mountains). :) Grześki is the diminutive and plural form from the name of Grzegorz (in English Gregory is similar name so it is like small Gregorries). Prażynki means the roasted ones. Wiejskie ziemniaczki is like country/rural potatoes with butter and salt. Okocim is the city near Cracow (about 1 hour on the south from Cracow) where this beer is made. Warka is the city in the south of Warsaw where this beer is made. Żubrówka means the vodka with bison grass (żubr is similar to bison creature). Someone telling that it is made from żubr but this is not true. ;-) Rectified rye spirit is mixed with a decoction of the herbgrass (latin Hierochloe Odorata), a species of grass commonly called bison grass. Krówki means little cows (the candies which are made from milk).

Shortbread cookies hmm I don't know here you eat them, bc yes typical scotish ale more hard but in poland they are usually crumbly and we call them butter cookies, but we are very picky about brands, etc. So you getting first you see was like very 50/50 change they would be good, and I wpuld almost say with brand you took it was like 20% they would be good 😋 it is not that it is band brand but... And Margaretki are name of this ones with jam, but cheaper brands have this hard gummy jam it is usually indicator if cookie is good.

A little Polish spelling lesson 😂Letters "ó" and "u" are both spelled in Polish same as "oo" in English (like in words 'moon' or 'zoo'). "W" is always spelled as English "v" (we don't have "v" in our alphabet. But we have "ł" and it is spelled as English "w"). So the sweat "krówka" is spelled something like [kroovka] while "żubrówka" would be [joobroovka] but with "j" spelled kinda like in French (like in "bonjour") but little "harder" if it make sense. Cheers :)

I wonder if you actually had wódka on the food tour or if it was a nalewka. Nalewka is very popular alkohol you make at home by combining sugar + alcohol + X. That X bieng lemons, cherries, chesnuts... many diffrent flavors of nalewki.

Krówka is fudge. You should definitely try the actual candy. Also vodka should be chilled to the point it's thick then you won't taste the alcohol that much. Don't think vodka in the restaurant was weaker it was probably properly chilled. Also the beer you've chosen is unfortunately quite mediocre, I recommend some kraft Polish beers. There are so many options, each big city has at least a couple of breweries or at least restaurants with tap kraft beers. About that donut you had- it's actually not really a genuine Polish one. Try a pączek from a bakery.

"Krówki" are polish fudge so Yes you dud mistake uf you were recommended "Krówki" hmm simply you should take both things if you wanted chco, bc it had only name but it isn't in any way related in taste... Hmm about Kabanos hmm I think the darker ones are smoked and this thin aren't, kids usually like this thin one. And yeah there us a lot favors and meat, there are also plant based, I don't like them, but there are people that do.

Żubrówka is currently a brand of many vodkas. You drank classic Żubrówka. This is vodka for cocktails. It owes its taste, color and aroma to the endemic bison grass, which grows only in the Białowieża Forest. These beers are not my cup of tea. I will give you some interesting facts about Warka beer. Warka is a small town where General Pulawski(Puławski) was born (his portrait is placed on cans of this beer brand). Pulawski is a Polish American hero who died at the Battle of Saratoga. He was a hermaphrodite, recent examination of his remains showed.

@@JacobandJennyTravel Polish national drink. The most famous combination is Żubrówka with apple juice (“tatanka” or more often “apple pie”). For every 50 ml of vodka, pour 150 ml of juice.
@jerzy7118
@jerzy7118 7 месяцев назад
Oh my gosh, how much did you all cost together, it would make me faint. My favorite alcohol is "Wyborowa" and "Żubrówka" vodka with weed, which gives a specific aroma, but it must be chilled. There is no "Ptasie młeczko" from Wawel, the Milka company makes a similar one but they are terribly sweet. "Pawełek" bar with alcohol. "Krówki" candies are not the same as before, they were better in the past. When buying Chips, you need to translate because there are lots of different flavors, it's the same with vodka and beer. Taste Polish cakes, cheesecakes, poppy seed cakes, apple cakes, strawberry cakes with jelly, etc. in a restaurant or confectionery shop.
