The base version is a hazelnut-based pastry filling which the manufacturer figured was the tastiest part of the pastry and began selling separately. Typically eaten like you did (or possibly inoring the hand and putting it directly in your mouth). 15:36 - Yup, the Marabou storch is the base for the brand name. 16:39 - At least Jennie has a thing for cola :) Calippo is originally a type of cola-flavored icicle which was developed into tiny cola-shaped ice balls and this is the non-frozen version of this. he icicle is superior. 17:53 - That is technically not a piece of candy, but more a type of pastry, typically eaten together with a cup of coffee. 19:37 - "Engelsk" is Swdish for "English" as this is a (vaguely) English type of candy. The licorice version of Rollo is superior. 20:13 - Not a guitar, not a key. It's supposed to be a pacifier. Made by Malaco btw. 20:49 - Piggelin is another icicle-turned-into-candy. Not very successfully tbh. 21:16 - The regular version was yellow and taste of banana which makes the shape understandable. I've actually never thought the sour version looks like a finger before, but it really does. :) 21:51 - Yeah, you're correct. "Vanilj" means "vanilla". A pretty uninspired fudge really. 22:52 - Swedish "punch" is a form of alcohol, but not at all like American punch. It's an arrak-based licor with about 30% sugar and typically 50-proof. An aquired taste. 24:30 - Geisha is made by Fazer, the Finnish brand who made the chocolate in one of the Sweetish videos. 25:12 - Gianduiotto is a chocolate from the Pieddmont region in northern Italy and they are typically shaped like tiny ingots. "Nocciola" is simply Italian for "hazelnut".

Punsch (sometimes spelled Punch) is not the same as what you call punch in the US. It's an old timey, very sweet type of liqueur. It's based on Arrak which is a side product from cane sugar refining. Arrak is also the stuff that gives the flavor to rum. In fact, punsch and rum have a lot of similarities. Punsch was very popular in Sweden at the end of the 19th century. Nowadays though, it's mostly drunk by university students.

Here’s a recipe for homemade delicato balls. Ingdredienser: 1/4 lb or 1 stick unsalted butter (room temperature) 2 1/2 cups rolled oats 1 1/4 cups sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract or 1 tbsp vanilla sugar 1 tbsp strong coffee (cold) 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa It’s nearly as we Swedes do it

"Glass" in Swedish is ice-cream, so they probably meant you can use the nötkräm as a topping!

20:17 In Sweden we call those "Sura Nappar". If you translate straight over to english it would be something like "Sour Pacifiers".

The tobacco product that "hockeypulver" imitates is a thing called snus that is very popular over here (in Sweden).

The delicatoboll is basicly a version of the classic Swedish chocolate ball (chokladboll). Basicly u just mix oats, softened butter, cocoa powder, and then either add coffee or some kind of dessert liquor for flavor then make them into balls and coat with coconut flakes and chill them. A true classic that u can find in any Swedish coffee shop.

Punch is an arrack flavoured spirit that is traditionally served hot with pea soup (with yellow peas and mustard) on thursdays.

Piggelin and Calippo are from the begin popsicles they now have turned into candy. Piggelin is a tutti frutti flavour

The "hockey pulver" is - just like you say - a candy version of a tobacco product - namely the swedish "snus" - which is really a version of your chewing tobacco - but stuffed under the upper lip rather than the under. The product was sold as "hockey snus" and was considered a healthier alternative for youths in the 80's than the tobacco variety. :-) Snus (the tobacco variety) was very popular with swedish hockey players in the 80's. The "hockey snus" was later named "hockey pulver" from swedish law - that prohibited candy manufacturers to emulate tobacco products, such as cigarettes from chocolate or pipes from licorice - once very popular candies in Sweden. Anyways - I really love your videos on swedish candies and snacks and sodas! Keep up the good work.

If I remember it right OLW started when Sweden started to produce its own cheese doodles. The owner of Wasa company found the cheese doodles in Old London in Boston. So he stated a company and named it OLW. As written down below it stands for Old London Wasa. The ceese doodles is great tohether with red wine.

Piggelin is actually a pear-flavored popsicle, on an ice cream stick, that was turned into a small, hard candy - It’s a classic amongst many children, even grownups too. There’s another version of it made as well, called ’Päron Split’, translating to ‘Split Pear’, with a center of vanilla ice cream, and a thin outer layer of Piggelin🙂

OG Daim is soooooo good, I'm from Finland and I prefer Finnish chocolate but the Daim bar kicks Finnish chocolates butt.

Our family has started doing taste test Sundays where when we see something unusual or different we try it. Sometimes we invite family and friends to join in. Last week my daughters bestie joined us. I made hot tea for me and the girl to drink during the testing. It helped so much especially during the sweet section. Thanks for the ideas. Love your videos.

hockey pulver is liquorice powder that is often called "snus for kids" the flavor sent here was most likely because they know not many outside scandinavia like liquorice

18:38 The Delicato ball that you loved is one of the easiest things to make at home, Swedes do this all the time when we get cravings and we don't have snacks at home. You just mix oatmeal with butter, cacao powder some cold Coffey (just a splash) or some espresso powder and then you roll them in coconut flakes or my favorite pearl suger (?). Just google "Chokladboll" for the recipe.

Delicato boll, Its one famos things in Swedens Fika, for cup of tea or coffee, its a mocca,chocolate, oats and cocos ball.. Ita also goes of name chocolate ball, and its non baked, many do them self. There is video on youtube at english, about Choklad bollar.. If you wana do them 👏

20:51 We have a tutti Frutti Popsicle called Piggelin(many people thinks its pear but it's actually tutti frutti). It has been for very long time. I'm 19, turning 20 this month and Piggelin has probably been longer than my 20 years! Few years ago, a Swedish candy brand turned Piggelin into those hard candies! I love those Piggelin Hard Candies!

There is a student run café at the university I go to in Sweden. Most breaks between lectures we go and buy "kaffe och klägg" which is basically coffee with a chosen biscuit or snack, delicato balls are a very popular choice :)

Yes Hockey Pulver is supposed to resemble a tobacco that is popular in Sweden called Snus which is a tobacco you put under your lip and let it be there for a while. Hockey Pulver can come in sour and licorice as well and you can pour it in your hand and eat or wet your finger and dab or how I always did as a kid I took a lollipop sucked on it and rolled it in the powder.

So some info about some of the things. the calippo and piggelin candies are both based on ice pops popular in sweden, calippo is cola like you figured out but piggelin is like "Tutti frutti"-taste like blended fruit taste, while i get more like pear and slight lemon taste. The daim is toffee i guess but from what i recall toffee is a little soft while daim is hard toffee or like i think its also called butterscotch in english, its says "crunchy almond caramel" on wikipedia so something like that yeah i think the big difference is how long you cook it and the heat you have. hockeypulver like many have said it's a candy tobacco "toy" thing, based on "snus" i think the original flavor is salty licorice. There are also like a sour type, pretty sure they have more flavor now though. The cream thing is a flavor i haven't seen but the original is hazelnut cream, think like nutella but IMO better. The delicatoboll is a specific brand of a classic dessert(delicato), its like you said a no bake thing. It's made usually with chocolate powder and coffe among other things in it, it usually has coconut or pearl sugar on top. It's usually called "chocolate balls" nowadays.... they used to be called "N-word balls"...... yeah. Really quite easy to make your own. The guitar/key is a pacifier. Sorry for the long comment and i do hope this is somewhat fun info to know, good video though.

The normal Diam bar is a kind of almondy caramel, really nice.They were called Dime bars in UK,I thought they were American ,but I checked and they are Swedish, I never knew that lol

Daim is almond-flavored knäck, which apparently translates to butterscotch or Christmas butterscotch. Definitely a good one, wrapped in milk chocolate. Don't think I've tried mint yet, but you should try to get your hands on an original flavor one.

The middle part of Daim is crunchy almond toffee.

Daim used to be Dajm and sold in the US under the name Skor that means shoes in Swedish. 🤯😂

"nöt creme" that's basically a hazelnut, cocoa and sugar paste, it's flipping amazing on toast btw :) now that was a cookie dough variant so flavor won't quite be the same.

The pick mix looked like what kids in Sweden get at Halloween lol... the 'cola key' looks like a sour soother that we have.

Growing up we called Rollos ”plombdragare” which roughly translates to filling extractor due to how chewy they are.

it's not a key, its a pacifier. delicato is a refined version of our choklad boll, (rolled oats, butter, cacao powder, sugar and coffee, rolled in coconut shavings, or pearled sugar, just google "chokladbollar" and there's a thousand recipies tho in metric..) our punch is made from arrack and it's an alcoholic drink.. and yes, cola flavour is quite popular over here..

The reason for the ice cubes on the calippo is because it is origionally a ice popsticle that they turned into a candy.

Oh you need to try original Daim it's the best!! Almond croquant is what's in it. Pulveri is powder. I also started laughing when I saw the dips in the bowl 🤣 I've been waiting for this! OH MY GOODNESS I can't wait for part too!! Geisha is Fazer and it's Finnish. Leo likes the cola candy.

i would recommend that you would have used salted chips for the dips instead of flavored chips like you had here. Both Calippo and piggelin are originally an ice cream but they have made candy forms of them and quite a few other icecreams. The thing you thought was a guitar or a key is a pacifier.

So when it comes to Hockey Pulver I have a fun anecdote. I was about 6-7 years old or something like that and a friend of mine in school had just got some of that new Hockey Pulver candy but we didn't knew how we were suppose to eat it. Then this little girl in our class said "Oh I know! My mom likes hockey pulver and this is how she does it" and then she snorted it. She started crying from the pain in her nose after that. Fun times.

Fazer (Finnish brand) was popular at Christmas when I grew up-green marmalade balls, ”Finlandia”( pretty much the same look as the ”green marmalade”-only other colors. Mostly older ppl were fond of them but they were alright, although a bit too big for a kid to shove in in one piece and really sweet. Then of course you have the Aladdin/Paradis chocolate boxes where the cherry-in-liquor and rum raisin pralines where always last left and what granddad ate when all other pralines where looted. Then there were the ”Twistpåse”, mandatory every swedish christmas in my family along with the ”Non-Stops”(basically similar to Smarties). The Twist bag mix still exist but some of the original content has been changed since I was a kid😩😉

Hockey pulver started with salmiac flavour. Middle in Daim is Christmas Butterscotch. Nöt-Creme you can it just from the packing, some spreed it on bread.

Nice video! With the hockey powder you put your finger on your tongue and then dab it in the powder. Probably the most common way kids here do it.

I have just started seeing your videos in my feed. A long time ago i was working at the OLW factory. Back when the OLW factory was at the same place as the flat bread factory WASABRÖD. don't know if you've tried that bread ,but that is something we Swedes eat alot. Something you should try. Both the ordinary bread ,which has lots of different types/tastes. And also the Wasa sandwiches which has different types of cheese between two slices of bread. Really tasty

Funny mix of candy. Not all of them were Swedish. The triangle was Italian for sure. Pick and mix candy is very big in Sweden. You´ll get it in almost every grocery store. There are thousands of different candies. Cola is not that popular. Some candies you´ll almost always find in every store. And my favorites.. are: Ferrari cars (raspberry chewy) Sugar cubes (Chewy marshmallow. Also comes chocolate covered) Häxvrål ( hot licorice) Sour raspberry bottles. Raspberry seems to be pretty popular in Sweden. It grows everywhere. Keep up the good work. Love your bloopers.

Hard salty licorice skulls are my favorite pic-n-mix, but Fazer chocolates Geisha and Mint are high up too (but they may be considered finnish since it’s Fazer).

The thing is, they only bring in things that they think Americans like, so it's just the sweet candies. Swedish sweets usually vary from sour, salty, licorice and sweet. Another thing that is big is natural candy which is a big thing that more adults eat over here

Hi from Sweden here is the recipe of swedish Chocolate balls Ingredients ; 100 g (½ cup) caster (superfine) sugar 100 g (3½ oz) unsalted butter (1 tbsp short of half a cup) 1tsp vanilla extract 3 tbsp strong coffee, hot 3 tbsp cocoa powder pinch of flaked sea salt 125 g (1½ cups) rolled oats 50 g (1¾ oz) desiccated coconut Method 1. Mix together the butter, sugar and vanilla until fully combined. 2. In a small bowl combine the coffee and cocoa powder and mix to form a thick paste. Allow to cool slightly then pour into the butter mixture and mix together until fully combined. Add the salt and oats and mix together until fully combined. 3. Take a spoonful of the mixture and roll between your hands to form a small ball. Roll in the coconut and set aside and repeat with the remaining mixture. Refrigerate until firm. I believe your fan enjoys the cola flavour, because that was pretty much all the cola-candies that exist.

And we in Sweden say chips not crisps. Piggelin has a pear flavour. And that pick n mix was just the tip of the iceberg! We have much MORE in our supermarkets candy aisles. You might need a vacation to Sweden someday :)

if you eat a "punch pokal" and breath in a breathalyzer, in some cases people have tested over the allowed BAC for driving (in Sweden 0.2). they needed to rinse there mouth with water and retry. ( sorry for crappy English )
