They wanted to give her song to another artist. So what they do is tell you it isn't good and if you agree they take it from you and give it to the artist that sucks cock. Bey caught everyone's attention. But there was something about Amerie that was so down to earth, accessible and alluring that she immediately caught and held my attention. "This one thing" sounded so different and out there. It has a rock/ funk/ go go/ European sound that grabbed hold of your body and you were thumping to it before even you realised it. She was unique. A standout from the typical Factory produced tired and worn out stuff out there. I was riveted and I wish she would make an appearance with new material.

Agreed. People say she looks like Khloe Kardashian....yeah, she wishes. Amerie is absolutely gorgeous naturally, and I can't explain it, I am in such awe of her when I watch her perform. I love how she has said in interviews that her being so skinny is not what makes her pretty, especially as beauty standards change. Her body type works for her, yet there are women built differently that are also beautiful

it was just a ploy used by them to get her to give up the song for one of their other leading artist but she fought the good fight and won that battle. Good for her 👏👏👏🙌🙌she wasn't a push over like Ashanti. It's the song she is most famous for and its a classic. Another fav of mine is Gotta Work which was brilliantly produced. She surely made her mark in the industry in a short space of time and deserves recognition for her work.

They don't like someone who thinks for themselves. They want either a dummy who can't think for themselves (ie slave) or someone who is so greedy they will do anything for money (so that they do as the record label tells them at all times). Ameriie is an educated independent minded woman who can't be easily controlled by the recording label company. That's why they make other 'slave' artist steal Ameriie's style.

We knew this was going on in the 2000's while it was happening but no one cared. We knew Beyonce and JLo were stealing Amerie's sound. It was blatant. Also, Ashanti was in competition too with Amerie, Beyonce, and Jlo. They all were competing but Amerie was the one who had her own revolutionary sound. Amerie reminded me of Aaliyah in the sense that she was progressive and defining music. Notice that the sound of Beyonce music is different now because she no longer has pioneers to steal from. R&B music is nothing like it was because of this.
