It's only the fact that Melodifestivalen now is never ending that actually kinda is bögarnas fel. And no I do not feel offended by this song. I think it does a great job pointing out the absurdity of, especially religious, people blaming gay people for everything. I think religious people might be more offended by this song than any us lgbtq people. I mean it brings up a lot of bad things that comes with religion and how ridiculous lots of religious people are. Basically this song is mostly bringing up terrible things that are done/caused of/by religions/religious people and how they put the blame elsewhere. Another similar song and classic everyone knows and you should check out is *Storswänsken by Euskefeurat,* it does pretty much the same thing but about racists and racism.
Well, the LGBTQ groups did get offended by it, after all, it's the get offended by everything group... Proper gays weren't offended by it at all, it's all them queers that get offended by everything on this god damned planet. But I don't think the religious people got offended at all, maybe the Muslims, but I didn't hear about any terror attacks in regards to it, so most likely not. And I agree it is the gays fault that the Melodifestival never ends, after all Christer Björkman is the one dude running it, and he's gay. And let us not forget the song he made... Imorgon är en annan dag. A song so horrendous that they could use it to torture people at Guantanamo Bay.
The group is "Grotesco". Probably inspired by Galenskaparna as much comedy in Sweden is. Henrik Dorsin is one of a kind tho (the bald white guy singing). Controversial but still incredibly funny! Edit: Ah you got it right :) Nvm, I'll leave the comment hanging! :)
😂 Oh my, I had somehow managed to completely forgotten about this satire but as soon as you mentioned Galenskaparna & Aftershave and Grotesko.... well, they where and are always pushing the limits 😂 Thanks for the snicker! Needed that😅
@@Templarofsteel88 or is it? If we're going to be very accurate in the political sphere, a lot of bad stuff that has occurred since the 90s is due to the gays, in quite a literal sense. Now are the gays to be blamed for the things done in their name, not necessarily, because most of the horrible stuff that has occurred is due to women with very sick imaginations, that want to make old man+non legal boys a thing. However I don't blame the gays for that, after all we've not done anything to make things worse, there's however some of the alphabet people who are less how to phrase it politely, sane. Some would even say that anyone in that specific group would only be able to contribute to society from a 6 by 3 by 6 feet hole in the ground. Some might even claim that the groups name is a synonym for weird. Have a great day and remember that it's Bögarnas Fel.
As one of the "bögar" who we're referencing I do have to admit that the thing about "schlagerfestivaler som aldrig vill ta slut"... Yea that's accurate xd Melodifestivalen, Eurovision to some extent yea that's on us 100% 😂😂😂
Love it bro. In my opinion understanding the humor is the last most crucial thing to being fluent in a language and being part of the culture. Welcome brother, the viking spirit runs in your veins 😁. I'm subbing for more classics.
@@JonathanRollinssthlm305 in 2009 Grotesco did a mid act between the songs and votes. and russians hated it and it went shitstorm XD watch it.. you gonna LOVE it XD
On youtube you can find (3) grotesco tingeling part 1, part 2 and the final (full version where they go to Russia first). The Russia thing as a whole and at the end of the day, may be one of the best things ever made. Like anywhere. Amazing.
I’d also like to point out that the melody is not “Bare Necessities”, although I understand where you’re coming from. It’s composed by Swedish songwriter Andreas Alfredsson Grube! :-)
You're correct, I don't think anyone took offense at the time. At least I never heard anyone honestly complaining about. Quite sure it wouldn't be produced today though, although it's only been 12 years.
I would say that being offended was more of a thing back then, than it is now. Before 2016/17 humour was more ”politically correct” than it is today, for some years. When it comes to this song I think it was so obvious that they made fun of homophopia and not gay people though that barrely anyone got upset. (Maybe some religoius people did though, not sure)

New time watcher but been binging your reactions to swedish music as well as really enjoying your standup! When it comes to comedy videos like this id love it if i heard more of your translations of the jokes and where you see the comedy. I think that would be super interesting! Also check out Grotesco The Trial.... its 13 min long and i need your reaction to it.
I don't know if there is a version on RU-vid with subtitles. I mean he's just reacting to someone else's video, but I know what you mean. I wished there was too, for the people outside of Sweden
Wait a minute! I saw you live yesterday, didn't I? As the opening act for Iliza Shlesinger's show. You were really good! How bizarre that I ended up on this video today, due to completely unrelated youtube suggestions for reaction videos 😆
Not Galenskaparna, Grotesco. I think the confusion may be because this IS kind of just a rework of a Galenskaparna styled skit.. The skit is rather a way to look at self-righteous religious people who think they are perfect and think that everything that is amiss in the world is because of the people who.. aren't them.. Grotesco's song is about blaming homosexuals (I think that in Britain there were politicians who sincerely blamed the legalisation of Gay marriage as the reason for a flooding they had a short while after the law passed.. ).. Though Galenskaparna's "Himmelen har skänkt oss alibi" (From a very good movie named "Hajen som visste för mycket"), isn't trying to point fingers directly, but rather about how some people who are Christians think they are absolved from any responsibility.
@@JonathanRollinssthlm305 .. Yeah; I responded before I had looked at the entire video, but the rest of what I said still is something worth mentioning.. (I also don't remove comments I make because I have a philosophy about standing for my mistakes. This means that instead of hiding them by removing what I said, I prefer to rectify in subsequent conversations).
Well, all the members of Grotesco (especially everyone who writes their scripts and songs) are all huge fans of Galenskaparna & After Shave so I think none of them mind being mistaken for their idols. Henrik Dorsin and Per Andersson even invited Claes Eriksson on a weekend trip to London with the two of them because they wanted him to talk about humor and screenwriting (he happily went along).
Middle class guy here. And yes. It might happen, every now and then, when something goes wrong, someone says: "Obviously it's the gays fault.". :) And also.. The priest fondling the little kid... Creepy as f. If someone got offended I suspect it was the religious people. But I don't think they could really complain, that would have opened up a can of worms they rather had kept shut...
And now (if you've not done it yet) Göteborg är staden på G (They dig a tunnel from Stockholm to Gothenburg in the 1940's) And Runka bulle (Soggy biscuit). Both by Grotesco.
Warphole to 1970's Gbg!!!!!
As a member of the bögarna, I fvcking forbid anyone to be offended on my account. Because I seriously don't believe any sane gay person would ever be offended after watching this. It's already sad (and pathetic) enough that such a skit would be absolutely demolished in its infancy if it were to come out today, let's at least enjoy the spicier humor of the past. I mean it's not even directed towards gay people, people who feel it's offensive should seriously go outside and touch grass.
Great comment. As a straight man who loves this song, I've always from the first second watching it, understood that this is a totally obvious satire that makes fun of various religions (among other institutions) and their history of homophobia. And even more than that in the end, and that's why this classic satire was so ahead of its time, and has gained recognizion through the years. I'm also glad to read online that people apparently sing this song at the Pride parades over here. Those people get it, and the Grotesco crew would be proud of that. And if that message isn't clear for those who don't "get the satire": I promise you - Swedish Television would never ever air something that would felt in anyway "hateful" to the LGBT+ community back then (or even more now). That's so bloody obvious, isn't it?
Did you watch this with the swedish subtitles i have to ask?? Otherwise there no point. Its the text thats important here!! 😀 because this is made to be funny rather than musical first of all
This is by Grotesco and not Galenskaparna. :) Thay played this on "Allsång på Skansen" (Sing-along-show) during pride and the only ones who got offended was not part of the lgbty+ "group"
.... his Swedish pronunciation is actually..... excellent. It's not Galenskaparna, they're also great, but this group is Grotesco.... and you corrected yourself. Should finish watching ;).
Nah, I actually think there are even more spaces for people to enjoy what they like. It's just popular right now for people to complain about this boogie man of woke culture that doesn't really exist. More people aren't offended, just more people have platforms.
You didnt get the subtitles, so I cant give you a thumbs up - you only reacted to a catchy, typical Free Church Song without hearing the words they sung... Weeeeeell, I guess you know the title and liked it - Blame it on the Gays... and just liked the song when you knew the title! Love from Sweden 💖
You should check out Eddie Meduza a swedish singer. He sing about Almost everything. From sex to cars. Im my opinion. The best singer in Sweden history.
