Sweden is very big in the metal world, and we also have a speciality, almost all of the bigger swedish metal bands are melodious. So if you keep to the swedish metal, you are not so likely to hear that "wall of sound" that's quite common in metal but instead you will hear the melodies. :) Every now and then though you will hear those guttural growls but even then, the music behind will most likely be melodious.
There are more Deathmetal in Sweden, but we got some great True Metal bands! i highly recommend listening to a new band called "The Lightbringer of Sweden" its true metal
Recommending: Europe - Carrie (187 mn views on RU-vid) Roxette - It must have been love (Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle's rock band. Marie's voice was fenomenal for that raspy rock style. Several mn views on RU-vid) Rednex - Cotton Eyed Joe (You might have heard it, but yeah they are Swedish) Eagle-Eye Cherry - Save tonight (Kind of r'n'b pop style, which hit worldwide.)
HammerFall is a BIG Successful band! All their albums is fire! Catchy as hell! I highly recommend reacting to ”Hammer of Dawn” or ”Brotherhood” They are in the Heavy Metal genre, They are less Power Metal, Power Metal has cheesy keyboards, singers that does waves of screams, But their 12th album might be One of their best! + They are ONE of the Best Live Bands!! They play very accurate!, I think most of you guys who has been to their tour that they NEVER Disappoints! They make the crowd speak! and HammerFall is just having fun
I would even go as far as calling it a headbanger!🤘Thank you for reacting to it I knew you would enjoy it! Another metalsong from that time that hit the charts(peaked at no.14) is *"Pain - Shut your mouth"* "Sweden's Nine inch nails" since he sings and plays all the instruments by himself except from when he's on tour. It has a more mordern sound to it mixing heavy metal with electronic music.😉
Love Hammerfall and this is one of their best songs. I can also recommend a ballade called "Always will be" that i find one of the best songs ever in that genre. Joakim Cans is a great singer indeed.
In Flames - Come Clarity is another great Swedish metal hit. This is what the Swedish minister of finance said after this album was released "Tack vare In Flames, har nu Sverige ett metalband i absolut världsklass" and Aftonbladet named it the best album of the 00-decade. I suspect Take this life might have been the bigger song on the album, but personally I recall Come Clarity as being the hit.
Hammerfall is awsome and definitly one the greatest Swedish metal bands. 'Hearts on fire' is one of their classics, 'Last man standing' is another. You should also check out 'När vindarna viskar mitt namn' with Hammerfall + Roger Pontare (originally a song Roger Pontare sang in the Melodifestivalen).
For some 80's feeling you should do one of Europe's songs. Since you probably heard Final Countdown, I suggest for instance Carrie, Superstitious, Cherokee, Rock the night
I know I'm late to the game, but they recorded another video of this song with the Swedish women's curling team (yes, you read that right!). You really should check it out, it's awesome! And the ladies continued to win two consecutive Olympic gold medals!

Most of the metal in the Nordics is melodic, so you’re gonna have a good time.
Most metall singers are classical trained, one of the most talented singers in our time whit a huge vocal range is the singer of the metal band Disturbed, David Dreiman. His cover of "sound of silence" (by simon & Garfunkel) was so good that Simon made contact whit David and told him that it was thier song now. So if you have some spare time I suggest That you check out his live performance at Conan whit that song. Not as a reaction but just for your pleasure.
Magnus Rosén on bass. It's the same guy who flies around in his braces with his bass and relaxes on the reeds in the air and thinks it's cheeky to play with Jimmy Åkersson, party leader of Sverige Demokraterna in the band ”Bedårande Barn”. Anders Johansson on drums, it's not the same guy as the bass player in Lars Winnerbäck's old band Snoddas. It's Anders & Måns-Anders who played in Snoddas!
More metal & punk. Mustasch - Double Nature Hardcore Superstar - Moonshine Backyard Babies - Minus Celsius Clawfinger - Biggest and the best Pain - End of the line In Flames - Come Clarity Hammerfall - Glory to the brave Europe - Rock the Night and Carrie Ghost - He is Dia Psalma - Tro rätt, tro fel Sabaton - Primo Victoria
Childhood song, loved the MV as kid❤🔥. The bridge is also my favorite part of the song, the build up is so epic! It's fun to see you exploring music your not familiar with . Mustasch - Double nature is also epic😜
A suggestion for something completely different, Garmarna - Herr Mannelig! Folk music at it's finest, if you ask me. And definitely something you haven't heard before!
Nice reaction! Hammerfall have also made some really good metal ballads, Glory To The Brave is one of them, it would be really nice to see you react to it sometime :)
LOVE Hammerfall, and yes Joacim Can has a great voice! Check out the glam rock band named Nasty Idols the singer in that band had a great voice to. Sadly he has passed away only 45 years old. Get you off my mind is the best song from the album Cruel Intention. And they are from the same city in Sweden as Janne Malmsjö and myself :) MALMÖ
The bald guitar guy, forgot his name , one of the best guitarist in the group ,what a shame he's not with them anymore , damn ,these old songs by HammerFall are legendary . I'm a Swedish hammer fall fan , have listened to them aincen i was 10 years old ,and I'm glad u made a reaction to this song
Jag uppskattar lite rock-ös emellan alla visor och rap... :) Här är fler förslag med lite tryck i: The soundtrack of our lives - Instant repeater ´99 Teddybears - Hey Boy (ok, lite rap...) Mando Diao - Gloria Johnossi - Whats the point Takida - Curly Sue Millencolin - Leona Lambretta - Bimbo Sator - I wanna go home
Hammerfall was the first metal band I started listening to. They have a lot of great songs, and if you liked this, you'll like those. I realise you'll probably get crucified by the svensktoppen people if you react to them, but if you want to hear some more I'd recommend these: The Dragon Lies Bleeding - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1QSCFI9y3SA.html Heeding the Call - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RWxc2wFefV0.html At the end of the Rainbow - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ebDyBELOhB8.html Glory to the Brave - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YLQtS84ccyk.html
@Marcus Not the elderly??? How dare you =) This particular Hammerfall tune is my kind of music (and much, much more) My favorites in the days were Saxon, AC-DC and so on . . . This really sounded like the 80's to me, bang on!
Joacim Cans var också med i första säsongen av körslaget (svenska versionen av Clash of The Choirs), och vann i en final mot Brolle Jr vars låt Playing with fire är något du borde reagera på.
Finally you see that you like metal music, so put that more in the future mix of react video your going to do, as I said evergrey song weightless, amon amarth jomsviking album but its more harsh vocals but still great, gave 2 suggestions beside that hammerfall renegade song you really got to do that, but still awesome that you find your way to metal
You must do The Final Countdown by Europe, one of the most recognized Swedish songs around the world, I think. If you don't want to do that one because you've already heard it, maybe Carrie or Superstitious (other Europe hits) could be alternatives.
Now do listen to Roger Pontare - När vindarna viskar mitt namn and then let me tell you about the greatest crossover I don't think anyone saw coming, Hammerfall - När vindarna viskar mitt namn live to see them perform it with the man himself Roger Pontare
You know, now that you're reacting to Swedish music, eventually you'll have to face the inevitable and face the ultimate reaction by reacting to and facing the Surströmming challenge right? It's not up to us, it's inevitable. It's going to happen whether you like it or not. Godspeed.
I copypaste this direct from Wikipedia "Generally, power metal is characterized by a faster, lighter, and more uplifting sound, in contrast with the heaviness and dissonance prevalent, for example, in extreme metal. Power metal bands usually have anthem-like songs with fantasy-based subject matter and strong choruses, thus creating a theatrical, dramatic and emotionally "powerful" sound."
@@tommiejonsson8952 Power Metal wasn’t a thing in the 90s in Sweden, It was only UK and US Power Metal, and it was only Deathmetal, HammerFall came in with more of a classic sound, 80s modern style, It could be called Power Metal, But they Are a Heavy Metal band, There are different type of Heavy Metal, bands like HammerFall, Accept, Saxon is very old school
I think you can find much better songs than this from Swedish Metal bands.. Dream Evil's Crusaders Anthem or Evilized for example or why not Sabaton with Christmas Truce or En livstid I Krig... and if you want to kick it up a nothc.. Check out Opeth and Digre for November or Death whisperd a lullaby.. and that without even mentioning Ghost ;)
Great song. But that isn’t what the channel is about? I cannot see this being a ”swedish classic”. Perhaps a “swedish metal classic” (even though I personally think there is 2-3 songs on their debut album “Glory to the Brave” that is way more classic ..to me anyways 🙃)
Well if you don´t listen to the lyrics (and don´t mind the childish "Dancing skeletons" in the video) the song is not that bad. But come on, rhyming "fire" with "desire" has not been considered proper for att least the last 50 years!
