Cool vid with great perspective. One thing I do not know though is how the distributor knows whee to stop and exactly how the drive works. I used to work on 70's and understand those fully but have never been able to figure out the 30's distributor. Any info is appreciated.

Hey Phil! So basically there’s a set of gears that are located on the bottom of the distributor head(under the trip lever). One of the gears has a lip sticking out of it and there’s another stopper directly under the clutch lever. When those two meet, that is what stops the distributor at each cup. It works because the distributor travels the same distance between each cup. Pretty neat. Thank you for the comment!

Question : Does the distributor has some way of being adjusted. In case it has been moved in any way. And is not dropping the pins in the right place.? Thank very much in advance

Hi! Great question! The distributor can be adjusted in several different ways. If the pin is not falling into the cup smoothly you may need to move it 1-2 teeth forward or backwards on the track.
