Love the M156 work Sam. Mine had over 400k miles but totalled that C63 last month( :( ) But i did replace it with an E63s WAGON so im pretty stoked about that!!!! I have torn my M156 down to the absolute core more than once and LOVED working on that engine!!! So over-engineered but so logical....When i did my bedplate reseal the only thing different i did was cut the heads off of my original M9 center bolts(1,2,5,6,9 and 10 in your diagram) so that i could thread them in and use them as guides for the bedplate to fall in place as opposed to doing the hover/hope/pray method....Great content my Friend and keep up the good work!!!!! and fwiw(and as much as i LOVE the M156) the M177 with downpipes and a tune is BRUTAL!!!!!
Using the old bolts as guides is a great tip for anyone else tackling this job, wish I thought of that at the time! Awesome to hear about your 400k mile 204, sorry to hear about its demise. 213 E63 wagon and AMG GTS/C/R are on my list of future cars some day, drove a buddy’s GT63S with downpipes + tune and it was awesome
