Thank you! I've been trying to figure out the difference between a single crochet and an increase. Totally makes sense now when you say it's the same thing, just an extra single crochet in the same stitch!

I don’t understand this 3sc,inc(repeat 6 times) 30. Hope you respond sooon.
@CraftingHappinessCrochet
@CraftingHappinessCrochet Год назад
It means you make (1sc in the next 3stitches, then an increase in the next which is 2sc in the same stitch) ×6=5×6=30

@@CraftingHappinessCrochet I have a question regarding a pattern: it reads: rnd 8: Sc in each st around. rnd 9: Working in back loops only, sc in each st around. Following package directions, attach safety eyes. rnds 10-17: Sc in each st around. What is sc in each st around mean? Thanks
@CraftingHappinessCrochet

@@arlenek6797 it means you make a single crochet in each stitch until you reach the end of the round (=around)

Why does mine have a big hole in the middle?
@CraftingHappinessCrochet
@CraftingHappinessCrochet 2 года назад
The only reason I can think of for having a hole in the middle is because you have not pulled the yarn tail enough to close it. Pull slowly and firmly until the hole has closed completely. I hope this helps.

Thank you for this. I am slightly confused though. I am making Liam the Lamb lovey and it says to slip stitch into the first stitch after finishing a row and then starting the new row in the next stitch. I can't make this work. I would normally just do continuous stitching like this video.
@CraftingHappinessCrochet
@CraftingHappinessCrochet 2 года назад
Hi, when you start the next round in the following stitch, the round shifts one stitch ahead and the bobbles aligh. If you do it continuously like in this video, the bobbles will not align.

i follow amigurumi patterns that start exactly like this and mine end up staying flat when they are meant to rise up into a bowl shape, im not sure if it is meant to do that later in the pattern or if im doing it wrong but i dont want to waste my time trying it.
@Zoe-vl4mt
@Zoe-vl4mt 3 года назад
I'm still a little confused. I'm trying your 3 in 1 farm horse blanket. Row 2 says Inc, SC. So I think this is what your video shows? Row 3 says Inc, 3sc, row 4, Inc, 4sc. Does this mean to do 3 SC in each SC, then 4 etc?
@CraftingHappinessCrochet
@CraftingHappinessCrochet 3 года назад
Inc, 3sc means you increase in one stitch then make 1sc in thr next 3sts. Inc, 4sc means yiu increase in one stitch and make 1sc in the next 4sts. And so on. I hope this makes more sense

very rarely you will see someone closing the rounds in amigurumi, it is usually crocheted in the roud, without closing

How do I do (sc, inc) × 5 = 15?
@CraftingHappinessCrochet
@CraftingHappinessCrochet 3 года назад
inc is basically 2sc in the same stitch, so (sc, inc) × 5 = 15 is the following: sc, 2sc in same stitch,sc, 2sc in same stitch, sc, 2sc in same stitch, sc, 2sc in same stitch, sc, 2sc in same stitch = 1+2+1+2+1+2+1+2+1+2=15 Hope this helps

How do I do sc inc x6 =28?
@CraftingHappinessCrochet
@CraftingHappinessCrochet 2 года назад
*Sc,Inc* x 6 means you make 1sc, then an increase, repeated 6 times, the count should be 18 because sc counts as 1 stitch and Inc (2sc in the same stitch) counts as 2 stitches, (1+2) x 6 = 18
