Man I love finding older Ammo,, the boxes always look cooler and it just gives you those nostalgia vibes, back when sporting goods stores had piles of SkS for next to nothing., and ammo was cheap… I remember you could buy an unissued SKS for 70-90 dollars and like 1200-1400 rounds of x39 for like 125-150…
@@Future-Preps35 That’s your first mistake,, living in commiefornia,, I watched some fool the other day on a video being like check out this AK mag dump,, he shot ten rounds out his 10 round mag; and he had a shark fin for a pistol grip,, which I can’t figure out how that is supposed to make a firearm safer by being able to control it less,,, BtW,, I live in Michigan and somehow the inmates have taken over the Asylum., they’ve already Set up scary ass red flag laws,., Lock up your gun in the home laws.. and installed “Universal Background Checks”which they said closed the “Gun Show loophole”… basically all they did was make things more inconvenient for law abiding citizens and police stations who have to do all this paperwork if a citizen sells his firearm to a another citizen…
11:13 Looks like copper plated steel. Your haul there reminds me of after you'd come back as a kid from trick or treating and dump the candy bag to see what you got
Unusual stuff for sure, Tools! Keep up your great work, Brother! I think I have watched most of your 9mm, 223 ,5.56 nato, 10mm, 45acp, and 12 gauge slug testing until I have memorized the results and your input input on each of them!! That's saying something for a old man who will turn 65 next April 🤔
Awesome score!! Those 125gr .357Sig Cor-Bons will THUMP! That's the old 90's loading and packaging. I have some of the newer packaged 125gr .357Sig JHP's and they look to be Cor-Bon proprietary bullets (they used them in the 9x19 loads as well), cup and core, definitely not the old Sierra Sportsmaster JHP like your example has. Interesting fact: that 230gr Speer Gold Dot .45ACP Short-barrel load uses a completely different Gold Dot JHP bullet to the standard 230gr Speer GD, it is shallower which allows for better expansion at lower velocities. Speer specially developed the bullet for its purpose.
Good grief. What a variety. Really anticipating the 5.7X28mm Hornady. Hope that ammo does really well. Also can’t wait to see the 9X18 Makarov. Also kudos to ammo donators as well. All that ammo makes for some interesting new Tools and testing. Be safe. ⭐️🇺🇸⭐️🇺🇸👊
You have quite the selection there. I'm looking forward to the Makarov testing. I have a Makarov and a bunch of Silver Bear ammo but no self-defense stuff.
Dang! Nice haul this week for sure! I see a bunch of stuff that caught my attention for tests. That CORBON should be interesting. I just picked up a 6” 686 today. And a 4” .44 mag tracker last week. Been on a revolver kick lately. Curious about the 9mm Alan sent too. 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Very interested in seeing that Hornady 5.7 test in both rifle & pistol. I picked up a Heritage tool the other day and rebate on the extra part came through so I now have another cartridge type to stock.
Nice haul. I am really looking forward to the HOP ammo test. Another tuber I watch actually has sponsored ammo from them but he doesn't do ammo testing. I'm really interested to see the performance. House of Payne is a local shop in Ohio. Looking forward to the other ammo as well.
The Future is going to be real interesting & busy at the range. Some really nice goodies to try out. That Corbon 38 & 357 should be sweet. Have fun! 👍🙏🇺🇸
@ToolsandTargets That's one of the problems with becoming an Icon. Not enough time do everything. Time for a volunteer assistant. Trade free range time for hard work for the right person. 😂🤔👍
Lots of freedom seed brands that I've never heard of in this haul. 😲 The hornady 5.7 might be pretty interesting. In a perfect world, 5.7 would be a dirt cheap round made for plinking. Until I win the lottery, it will spend most of its time living in the safe. 😂
Great score video lots of variety good looking out To Cor Bon the 38super is interesting not sure about the 9x18 stuff reminds me of 45gap or 30super carry which I would never own but test will tell if you love 7.62x39 and 7.62x51 you have love 54R can't wait to see new tests and hopefully new tools 👍👍
Wish my local stores carried the 9 x 18 Critical Defense ammo, probably have to order it online if I want to acquire any. I was lucky enough a few years ago to find a couple boxes of the Speer GDHP bullets for reloading in the Mak. 54r is one of my favorite cartridges to shoot, reload and cast bullets for, many years ago I was able to pick up a few hundred rds of Yugoslavian 1993 M30 contract surplus ammo, tried out a box in my Mosin rifles and it shot so well I put the rest in my rainy day stash, back in the day it was around $3 per box of 15 rds. That brown box 54r is definitely Bulgarian surplus, denoted by the #10 on the case rim. We used to buy it from Aim Surplus for $30 for a 300 rd. sealed tin, still have a few hundred rds. in the green paper packs. The heavy ball seemed to be of better quality than the LB version of the same ammo.
@@ToolsandTargets Found some of the Hornady 9 x 18 ammo online at a decent price, along with three types of 22 Magnum ammo that's not been available locally for some time. Looking forward to getting some chrono data with the Mak. and Ruger Super Wrangler next weekend. also want to mention I found your channel about two weeks ago and enjoy your variety of ammo and firearms testing.
Love the videos as always 👍🏼 I put 200 rounds through my G5 PSA AK last night and runs like a dream! Couldn’t be happier honestly. My new canik is at the FFL I’m going to pick up. I had issues with the mc9 so they sent me a brand new gun. Fingers crossed on the mc9 because I like the gun. I snagged some of them XDEF rounds from freedom munitions Its looks like a gold dot. There’s no testing on these so I might have to do a little make shift meat target outback
Off topic, but I finally got my Olight Osight mounted on a Glock 19 and took to the range today to sight in. I really like it. Was getting 2" groups at 60' resting the gun. Easy to use, don't have to worry about the battery, total winner for me. Thanks for featuring that. Also picked up a Seeker 4 which is pretty incredible. Used your link so hopefully the sale attributed properly. Just wanted to say thanks.
those 4140's look like X-Def projectiles from what I see. Found their website, but no further mention to clarify. Anyway, very interesting haul. You're gonna have Loads of fun (pun intended) 👍
Thanks for turning me onto the Cor-Bon Powerball and Urban Defense. I just got another order of both delivered today and it's the only defense ammo my finicky AR9 will shoot reliably otherwise I was stuck with FMJ.
Nice haul this week Tools. Looking forward to seeing this stuff getting tested and the new tools you've got on the way. Some really interesting ammo. Will be interesting to hear your opinions. Have a great TGIF and a super weekend
Excited to see how all this 124gr 9mm does, lots of brand I've never heard of but the projectiles look real top notch. Praying the grizzly does good I e bought a few boxes from bi Mart that had it on discount
Great variety of ammo Tools! Thanks Alan for sending that. Tools could you run some of that Syntech in your Glock 30 or your dad's 3.5" Colt Officers ACP?
Very nice haul my guy, is just won a bid on gunbroker for 250rds of 124gr federal HST for $105.93 shipped, I about fell out of my chair when I saw I won it.
@@ToolsandTargets speaking of ammo hunts dude, i'm planning on doing one of my own (but done online) as I want to get a Bulk purchase of some 12-gauge shells, and maybe throw in some boxes of .454 Casull rounds
That's quite the variety of 124gr 9mm. The only thing I recognize is the Unlimited Ammo "NUKE" ammo, RMR Bullets makes a "MPR Nuke" style of hollow point in 115gr and 124gr weights for 9mm. Been tempted to order some to load up and test out of a carbine myself. Would be neat to see a Rock Island 1911 for .38 Super tests.
looking forward to the tests, I know Paul Harrell really likes those 38 super, I haven't had the opportunity to try it yet. My collection is already bulging the limits of my safe storage. lol
PPU rifle line blue box has never let me down whenever I’ve shot it at a whitetail, from several different calibers. Expect performance similar to any American made soft point from it
@@ToolsandTargetsI remember seeing that video of yours a while back, iirc you used the round nose style correct? I’ve shot the 7.62x39 pointed SP at a whitetail this past deer season and it performed on game about as good as can get from the x39 caliber (that shot was about 90-95 yard distance with a ruger American Ranch rifle). I’ve also used the same PPU blue box SPs in 7mm rem mag and 8mm mauser on deer as well. All I know is they shoot really well and the 7.62x54R should be a deer catcher no problem
@@ToolsandTargetsit happens to be my wife favorite caliber..... I'm still working the kinks out of hand loading for what appears to be a finicky cartridge. Cost per round will be in the 25 cents range.
Nice haul! I wonder where those oddball 9mm projectiles are coming from? Seems unlikely it's an in house projectile from a small ammo company, it takes a fair amount of equipment and knowledge to produce a quality jacketed hollowpoint in any real numbers.
Yyyooo that unlimited ammo company has another defensive load called the Raptor. Super neat. What I currently carry. Would llloovvee a review from you since you're my favorite ammo channel. Great work man!
Man, I wish I had some good stores nearby. The few local gun stores are massively overpriced and I only get deals very infrequently from Academy Sports. I almost exclusively buy online for that reason. Tools is a lucky guy.
Those "NUKE" bullets are from a company called Rocky Mountain Reloading! And man am I glad they're there. I've been emailing trying to send you some. Figured it would be rude to just send some to you without getting the OK. If they're anemic, I'd love to send you my handload I've developed. Shot about 3k rounds of them and got them running very nicely (not hard to do). So curious to know how they perform!
Yeah, the problem is I don't do handloads from folks. I know a company can screw em up too, but at least I know they're supposed to be aiming for safe pressures.
@@ToolsandTargets totally get it, I wouldn't either. Heads up, according to RMR, they need to go at least 1100 fps to get full expansion. If they chrono under that, then maybe we could give your own handloads a go if I sent you the bullets? Just a thought
I hope you got an M44 Mosin Carbine. And suspect you either got a Bulgarian Makarov or a Hungarian Pa64. I'd like to see you a Nagant 1895 Revolver and do some ammo testing with it. It shoots 7.62x38R
It's funny you mention a Nagant revolver. Was in a small bidding war on a very nice one a few days ago, but it got a little higher than I wanted to spend. I'm gonna stay on the lookout.😎👊
Good find on the Russian and Bulgarian ammo. Not sure what to say about the Chinese stuff? I just ordered some 7.62x39 seeds from PSA: 2 boxes of that Sabre African American Tip and a blue ammo can (250rds) of their regular ball ammo.
I bought some nuke bullets and zero bullets and when you load them the oh jives are not right and you really have to seat deep to even chamber. The powder charge has to be really low or you will have pressure problems.
The Berrys hollow points I’ve tried were plated and didn’t do to good far as expansion but good accuracy. I tested them out of my G2C they never tried to mushroom just dented up on the sides I shot them into a chunk of cedar
I also have two rounds that are very hard to find for the 5.7….. 27 grain for police and military, one of them is a hollow point, I will donate a 50 round box of each to ya if you like
Is it the red box SS198LF? If so, I actually tested those a while back against the 195. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TbSkgahZEOQ.html 😎👍
I'm pretty sure those 9mm nuke loads projectile is made by RMR bullets they market a component bullet for reloading that is called nuke and looks exactly the same as the ones I reload.
