A job that required an impeccable degree of caution and responsibility, and a person performing that job who seemed to have very little of those things. Very sad and completely preventable.
I’m usually biased for the prosecution but not in the case. Yes Hannah was careless but the whole production was sloppy and rushed. I also believe Seth and Sarah are more to blame. The search of Seth’s company was over a month after the shooting. He could have easily gotten rid of any matching bullets. Sarah threw evidence away and that should have disqualified her and Seth from getting a blanket immunity from prosecution.
4:33 "These are those same rounds from the foam insert laid out". Suddenly there are 23 rounds when there was only 17 in the foam insert? Did I miss something here?
It was her job to prevent this from happening and as an armorer she should have not brought live ammunition onto the set. She will likely be convicted and rightfully so.
She didn't bring the live ammo on set... They have no idea what actually did that even at the end of this investigation. The state isn't even alleging she brought the ammo bc there is zero evidence she did I fact the evidence they do have points to the contrary..
I worked on the Leftfield production "Guntucky". Every person on set in every shot had a real gun with live ammo. We shot every thing from .22lr to 37mm main gun on a tank. And a lot of dynamite. No person was harmed. No accidental discharges no property damaged. And no rounds out of containment. All persons were trained before going on set. Persons with stated pier firearms knowledge were verified before going on set. All line staff were NRA Range Safety Officers and trainers.
Pretty awesome. Any 1870s revolvers or Winchesters or replicas? What a lot of folks aren't seeming to understand here is, being an Indy film and set in the time zone it is, it ends up being largely a training exercise. Film set in the 1870s kinda requires some 1870s artifacts. Even stuff like tableware, clothing, lamps, etc. Gonna have a BBQ scene with a gas fired Coleman? 1976 Impala coming down the street? Some folks only been on one set their whole life. Some never been on one. So, it's still kinda apples and kumquats. What was your budget, if you don't mind me asking? Just curious. Sounds like an outstanding production.
I've seen violations on several jobs I've had in my life. One I signed a non-disclosure about. Violations happen all the time. Money is more important than life. Profits and shareholders are all that matters to some.
Uhhh, it was HER SOLE responsibility to check EVERY weapon for live rounds and HER SOLE responsibility to PERSONALLY hand the weapon(s) to the actors. PERIOD. SHE is at fault.
She literally did the inverse of what her job was. As producer Alex will pay the big bucks, but he is NOT criminally responsible. SHE and SHE ALONE did this.
She should never have been employed in that position so although she undoubtedly screwed up the management allowed her to screw up. She’s being scapegoated.
Complacency causes mistakes. I train at work and always tell the new starter to read the label, and really read it, too easy to just look and assume it's correct. The only difference here is when this mistake was made, it took someone's life.
Nature gives us a warning about creatures with bright colours, often poisonous and or dangerous. I do think this applies to the looks of the younger generation and in particular like her. Bad decision making, lack of integrity, responsibility and above all, I've not seen a shred of remorse in her eyes throughout the trial. On the day, there is footage of her saying "this is the worse day of my life" while 2 ppl where lying shot, one of whom later dies, leaving a Husband and children without a wife / mother. Then she was caught immediately after the incident throwing away the remaining rounds in a bin. She may not have pulled the trigger, but hope they throw the book at her big time
Hey Rusty. When was the last time you saw powdered sugar packaged in a green antistatic pouch inside an impact resistant bubble bag? And why would Mrs. Canteen Momma take the baggie if she was just gonna throw it away down the hall? She can't say "No" to powdered sugar? Might try a little muriatic acid on that zipper. I hear it does wonders with that problem. Smear a little axle grease on it afterwards. Keep it from happening again.
She was quite the organizer.... Ammo in pockets, purses, fancy packs...probably had some in her socks too.... How on earth was this person put in the serious position as an "Amorer"? ....I would bet it came down to "She'll work for cheap"!
She wasn't unionised, so they got her at under the going rate. And the people who were supposed to supervise her were inexperienced too. Everything was cut-price. Recipe for disaster.
She was completely unqualified and amateur. She got the job because her dad’s famous so that was her “in”. She’s what some call a nepo baby. And she wasn’t in a union so they got her very cheap. She would have gotten into the union after this movie.
Regardless of the armourer's incompetence which is a factor, Baldwin was still the person holding the gun. There is no excuse for him here. If he'd followed proper safety procedures this would not have happened irrespective of the armourer's errors. If he didn't know the safety procedures he's negligent because he should have ensured he understood these safety precautions before handling a firearm. If he did know them then he's negligent for not following them. No matter what way you look at it, he's guilty of negligent homicide.
There is video of Baldwin waving the gun around pointing with it,, Hannah even told the crew to move out of his path in one of the videos… and btw if Baldwin follows basic firearm rules and safety checks a gun when its handed to you.. which literally takes 5-10 seconds to check she’d still be alive
It also oddly echoes that 1st /(early in case)vanity photo of her that has been making the rounds ******holding the pistols in an X formation, so definitely not a good look!!!!
What’s weird about Hannah Gutierrez Reid is that she never expressed any remorse over the death of Helena Hutchins and never verbally acknowledged her death. Even in the video right after it happened she never express sadness or emotion over someone who has died she only expressed how it was the worst day of her life and that her career is over and that she was upset that Alec Baldwin was holding the gun.
Remorse could be seen as guilt. They could use that against her. She isn't sitting stoic face because she is a robot, it's because they are told not to cry. In fact in the Crumbley case when Ethan's mom lost it in court she was reprimanded for showing too much emotion.
@@dinasaidsonone of us are her physician so we have no idea if she is on benzo's or anything else... Even if she was on Xanax seems like she would be a good candidate for a prescription considering the circumstances.
Rest assured they are only "prop chops" made of soft silicone rubber, completely harmless and incapable of chopping. The live chopsticks are stored in a secure vault with the party supplies back at the hotel.
Those are the WiFi router antenna connecting her brain implant to the main computer system. Everything she sees and hears is being recorded and uploaded.
It hasn't been? Why is everyone blaming the girl for bringing it? It seems from the defenses cross they are arguing the box of blanks, purchased from the PDQ ammo place, had random live rounds mixed in.
The small zip-loc bag full of spent brass in the Mary Kay 'prop bag' @ 8:48 indicates that real rounds were previously fired when the prop bag was present. It might be possible to match the primer strikes on these to the firing pin of the gun used.
@@jacka55six60You can't know this to be true. The spent casings could be props provided by PDQ which are scattered in the ground during the filming of shoot out scenes. Just because there are in the bag doesn't mean they are from live rounds discharged on set
@@jacka55six60Not necessarily. Bet she knows a few range shooters and friends probably collect and save them for her. If you listened to Seth, 1843 set Taylor Sheridan had a range set up for live round training and he brought back 300 spent casings in an ammo box. Some of Thell's reloads. Hannah has to test guns that come back from Seth before she allows them on the set. That requires live rounds. She's going to do that on a range, of course. Cylinder full.
And what does that have to do with anything Linda. Stooping to making comments about a professional's appearance in 2024 because you have nothing else to add is just sad and juvenile.
@neurodivergentpixi6736 It's a valid point. You're right she is a professional, in a serious job. Looking unkempt is disrespectful to the court , and will cause the impression she's also doing shoddy work even in 2024. Appearance is still important , especially in court.
Sheriff's deputies did a poor job of securing the scene, allowed civilians to handle evidence, etc. Understaffed and not properly trained. Despite these challenges, the slipshod, reckless manner in which the armorer did her job was criminal.
He is a good lawyer however non of his cross changes it was her responsibility to insure the safety. Especially because of for example the loss of chain of custody was her responsibility.
The small zip-loc bag full of spent brass in the Mary Kay 'prop bag' @ 8:48 indicates that real rounds were previously fired when the prop bag was present.
@@jacka55six60you can't be sure of that. In fact they have stated that used cartridges were part of the set of props, to be scattered on the floor of shoot out scenes, as you might expect in a shoot out where the protagonists had reloaded. You therefore have no way of knowing whether those spent cartridges were from cartridges previously discharged on set.
I don't know why the defence lawyer got to float so many hypothetical questions to this witness. "So you don't know which bullets were in which box 3 days earlier?" Get out of here....
I have never heard of a spent cartridge. If it was spent then it had been fired and it doesn't have a bullet and propellant which means it's not considered a cartridge. Possibly a spent brass casing but not a cartridge.
The cartridge has been spent, so a 'spent cartridge' is accurate enough; not like the lamestream media who call the entire live cartridge a bullet. Spent or fired casing is also accurate, but not the only technical way to say it. The fired bullet or projectile, is a spent bullet. Tohmayto, tahmatah.
Yes ... i have spent hours watching it but am a bit 🤢 they r releasing the actual movie. Only excuse is to show Halyna's cinamatography although why the gun was loaded for a rehearsal ??
My opinion is that they lost some of the shells in the gunbelts, a common thing. They were known to be very short of prop ammo, and Seth testified that he was beating the bushes for more. There were calls about it. I think that SOMEONE, some angry headstrong old fool that wanted to power through the production, provided a couple boxes of real as props to put in those empty loops and told someone else to get rid of the extra. The 'crew' shot up the extra after the union pros went home for the night.
Yes. Wondering how many ppl are just paying attention to the headlines and not the actual evidence... Seems to me with the facts in context she has the least culpability out of everyone they should have/could have charged...
I’ve watched quite a few of the other testimonies. After watching this, I would argue that that live ammunition came from PDQ. I understand it’s Hannah‘s job to make sure everything is safe, however if that was sent from PDQ, shouldn’t he be to blame for some of this?
The small zip-loc bag full of spent brass in the Mary Kay 'prop bag' @ 8:48 indicates that real rounds were previously fired when the prop bag was present. It might be possible to match the primer strikes on these to the firing pin of the gun used. Spent casings = previously known about live rounds on set.
There is no such thing as a “blank firing replica” They use “real” guns because the “blanks” are “real casings/ brass” they contain “real primers” and sequential amounts of “real” powder (charge, load) 1/8, 1/4, 1/2,3/4 and “full load”. They do make “rubber / replica” guns for stunt work like a fight scene, where the actor might fall on their gun side, or otherwise come into contact with said “replica” it would be more forgiving. Irregardless, there should never have been any live ammo on a movie scene. Furthermore the Church scene that they were filming was written so that Alec was only to pull out / draw the gun. He was never supposed to pull the trigger. The scene was to be shot later, no pun intended. Also ask why Sarah intentionally emptied Alec’s gun into the trash before the police arrived? And why did Alec have a gun pointed directly at a Production Staffer?
@@RustyZipperI have used blank firing replicas. There's a port in the side of the cylinder for gasses to escape and the ammunition while loaded in the same way is quite small. And tell the companies that make blank firing replicas (which use mainl 9mm cartridges or (as mine did, starting pistol caps) that they don't make them!
@@britishtechguru - are they used here in the states? Listening to Seth’s interviews there was never a mention of offering a blank firing replica on a production set, this all seemed normal. Real gun or rubber gun, 2 choices
I recall Bruce Lee's son killed on a set among others, there has to be a better way. I been on high budget movie sets where they have a minimum of 3 inspectors prior to releasing it to the actor.
What is not being understood is the fact that the Armorer's, pyrotechnics, explosives personnel on a movie set are responsible no matter who, what, when or how an accident occurs. They are responsible for it.
I think the armorer is 24 years old, incompetent, inexperienced, unqualified and inadequately trained and the movie set "Department Heads" knew these shortcomings, yet they allowed this armorer to continue to fulfill the job description on a temporary, as needed basis. It's like having a restaurant and hiring a server that has practically no restaurant experience and the hired server gets orders wrong, provides bad customer service, delivers the food orders to the wrong table, etc. and then blaming the server for the poor performance, when the reality is, the fault lies squarely at the feet of the person who hired the server for the job.
Really? "Up to" only 18 months in prison? For criminal negligence causing death and a second grievous bodily wound? Seriously? What is wrong with the justice system? Should be 18 YEARS - minimum. A person died!
In EU we would learn from this mistakes (using rounds that are pretty much the same as live) and prevent the industry to use them. We often use green tip to identify as blanks to make sure it's safe plus the weapons are not exactly the same configuration. The barrel is modified and it cannot shoot any projectile. We are going to see this again and again in the future.
You would know if you shot a live round from any revolver, yet he just walked away. That woman would have been blown back and he would have blood on him. This is peculiar. Edit: A .45 long colt is a loud, hard round.
The defense lawyer doesn't seem very organized, but I get what he's trying to point out. Problem is his scatteredness (if that's a word) probably worked against them...
...maybe I missed it, but where are the ammunition or empty cases that were taken out of the gun that was used in the shooting and dumped to trash pin?
Im confised... they said the one foam inserts 17 rounds....which it did... then the next picture, the witness states they are the same rounds as prior photo, butnjust out of the foam insert, but I am counting 23 ....where are the rounds from?
@@wijpke They did, he already had his trial and was found guilty, and he is the only one accepting any responsibility for this fiasco. But he is not the only one that is negligent. Alec will be held accountable for being the one to hold and fire the gun and also as the main producer of the show. The fact Sarah and possibly Seth are not being tried is highly suspicious.
He’s a good defense lawyer, he knows where he’s going and knows how to get there - better than the prosecutor The chain of custody and the security of the crime scene are frankly laughable the original Sherrif’s sent out were out of their depth with the size and scope of the necessary investigations - I don’t think the defense will have much trouble slicing and dicing the prosecutions evidence and then pushing the blame off on Sarah and PDQ who have already done deals with the DA. Ultimately Hanna loaded the weapon with the wrong cartridge and her mistake killed a talented cinematographer and wounded the AD.
You are talking about after the fact. The person that loaded the rounds at that particular time is responsible and that was most likely Hannah. It doesn't really matter where the rounds came from in a criminal trial.
The Sheriff's office had three deputies available to secure a movie set with 200 people. It takes manpower to secure a scene especially after a shooting. What did you want the deputies to do differently?
whoever posts these videos should invest in an editor. Sorry, but a 46 minute video where the first several minutes is people walking around. Too Long, Didn't Watch.
Defendants side is normally closest to cell access, so depending on court rooms it will be one side or other. For example the court room next door would be a mirrored version so cell access hall would be between for bringing prisoners up!
I don't think there are any rules, but generally the prosecution sits closest to the jury box. The defence sits on the other side of the room. Which is important to remember, Because when you see close up shots of the defendants face, that's a TV thing. It's not something the jury sees. They just see her sitting across the room.
This is all sloppy. Real guns instead of one just for firing blanks, why? This was a multi million $ production you would think they could afford prop guns.
I believe I check all boxes forensic says. She seems unsure if she check all the boxes. Either u checked them all or not. Would she not have record to be sure because it has been over 2 years
Check Manufacturer's of these boxes of cartridges because Why did FBI find ball barings in side cartridge Stuck they didn't rattle possibly defective cartridges in rest of the boxes. Did Seth Kenny the purchaser and Supplier Check and Verify these Boxes because he a supplier to Public
