This video tells you about my free to download AMOS utility which gets the hexadecimal colour codes for your program, and those from any Bobs or Sprites you load in via a .abk file, or the colour codes of any .iff file you load in.
It also shows a way to set the Default Palette command via an array. Exciting stuff. 😁

Neat. I think this is a good case for reformatting your display of the palettes and text to be horizontal and displaying each palette on a short screen of its own. Then the original palette can still be shown on its own screen next to the updated palette.

That is a great idea. I didn’t consider doing it as extra screens but I did try and show it horizontally. 🤦‍♂️😅 Huge thanks for the comment and idea. 👍

No problem. I am still working my way through yours, but as I want to watch them properly, I tend not to watch them after I’ve finished work as I’m brain dead then. 😅

If you change the line with the load statement to : Show : A$=Fsel$("*.Abk","","Load a File") : Load A$,1 : Hide It will bring up an AMOS file load selection routine so you can select the file with the mouse.

I did consider adding a file selector… but was keen to get this video out while I had a window of opportunity. Might consider doing an update to this later down the line. I’d also like to integrate this with my original Utils program. Heh, so many ideas and options, not enough time. 😅

@@YawningAngelRetro Would you mind if I rewrote some of the program over the next few days and send it to you ? (Hope you're not offended by this)

@frankowalker4662 Fine by me. I do this for fun and never claim it is perfect. 😅 More than happy for people to change and modify… and improve. 😉

Can I get the code on a floppy? I'm happy to send a SASE. Keeping it retro :)

You’d need to provide the floppy. 😅

I am a bit confused to what this program does. What purpose it fills. Is it to set the default palette to that of a bob or iff screen?

The plan was for this program to proved the colour palette hexadecimal codes, and also show an alternative way of loading the Default Palette command. It provides the code to extract the colour hex values. This is aimed at people who are not experienced with Amos and how to perform these tasks. It might seem a bit obvious to people who are experienced. 😎
