I think Ciel has been discontinued for a long time. That's one reason why no one talks about it, maybe. I own the original bottle of it. I just ordered a 50ml of Memoir Woman. It's discontinued as well.

Amouage Rose Incense is gorgeous: inky elemis gives way to a beautiful rose, and then the olibanum starts to dominate. Not smoky, just like a heated up resin. After that, it's a balancing game between rose and incense that lasts for hours...

I'm testing through Library collection because of the discontinuation, also will be getting a sample of Silver oud tomorrow. If like it will buy the black bottle of it. My discomfort with the salmon guy grows for everyday. It's really sad to see the trajectory of amouage.

I totally agree.. buying the new 100ml of silver oud was my last big misstep .. but I got it for a great deal so I cant complain...but this fish guy ruining Amouage hurts my soul 😔

Went on holiday to Mauritius some years back, bought bunch of fantastic vanilla pods smelled so different from the essence you buy back home and stick in a cake. It was vanilla but somehow more plant like with a woody tone. Amouage Material certainly bought that memory back to me. So, perhaps it's a personal olfactory experience for me but I rate it highly.

Interesting ... i know amouage claimed they used high end Vanilla ... maybe I just dont like how Zarokian Blended it 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

@@RamseytheRam seems reasonable, certainly does smell close to those vanilla pods i bought some years back, enough to trigger the mrmory so i am.inclined to believe the high end quality if they are making that claim.

It’s not just Fish Man making Amouage basic and commercial it’s the new CEO as well. The new CEO, Marco Parsiegla, was named the same year Chong left. They are both destructive to the brand. Shame. I hope Christopher Chong keeps creating interesting fragrances somewhere else. Do you know if he is working somewhere new now? Or maybe he’ll create his own brand. That would be cool.

I agree with you 100% Chong is at Thameen now....I have never smelled any of their creations but I hear that they were very bland and average... lets see if he can turn them around 🙂

⁠Yes it does. I am new to Amouage and I’m rather disappointed to discover that what I love about this house, what caught my attention, is now gone. 😔 I’m just rushing to buy as much as I can from Christopher Chong’s portfolio. 🏃🏻‍♀️ So far I have Beach Hut woman(my first Amouage), Interlude Woman, Imitation woman, Love Mimosa and Love Tuberose. Memoir woman, Bracken woman, Jubilation 25 woman and Journey woman are next on my rush to buy list. (With more later on) Thank you for so much Amouage info. If you have any other rush recommendations I am all ears.👂🏼 I have a growing spreadsheet going. Lol
